Eid-e-Zahra asws

Syed Ibn Tawoos has written in his book ‘Zawaaid Al Fawaaid’, narrating from Ibn Abi Al A’la Al Hamadani Al Wasti and Yahya Ibn Muhammad Bin Huwayja Al Baghdadi who said: ‘We were discussing about Ibn Al Khattab la and this matter confused us. We all decided to go to Ahmad Bin Is’haq Al Qummi, a companion of Abi Hassan Al Askari asws, in the city of Qum. We knocked on his door and an Iraqi
girl came out (to greet us). We asked her about him. She replied, ‘He was busy in celebrating the day of Eid. We replied to her: ‘Glory be to Allah! Surely there are four Eids for the Shiites – Al Fitr, and Al Azha, and Al Ghadeer and Al Jum’a.’ She answered: ‘Surely Ahmad Bin Is’haq has narrated from his master Abi Al Hassan Bin Muhammad Al Askari asws, indeed, this day is the day of Eid, and this is better than all
the Eids near Ahl Ul Bayt asws and their slaves.’

Eid-e-Ghadeer

Fayyaz Bin Muhammad Bin Umar narrates that: ‘On the day of Ghadeer I went to the Holy Imam Al Ridha asws and saw that Imamasws had a group of close devotees with him asws whom Imam asws had invited for breaking fast (on that day) and had sent food, drinks, clothes, even rings to their homes. I also saw that Imam asws had asked his servants to give those guest new outfits as some of them were wearing ordinary cloths. Therefore, Imam asws had liked them to wear neat looking outfits and they were regularly mentioning the virtues and the holiness of this day (the day of Ghadeer). In sum, one of the ahadith Imam asws had mentioned was: ‘My father has narrated to me on the authority of his asws pious and glorified ancestors the tradition (Hadith) that – ‘Once in the time of the Amir-ul-Momaneenasws, the day of Friday had
coincided with the day of the Eid of Ghadeer.

We have been asked to rely on Allah swt and His Divine messengers sws to have ‘Tawakal’ and keep on praying for what have been made permissible and just for us. However, sometimes, we have to take certain decisions, which may have good or bad outcome and may have significant impact on our lives at later stages. In addition, one would also like to have Divine blessings for his/her action(s), no matter how important or unimportant these are. For these reasons, we have been advised by Masomeen sws to first carefully analyse the situation and then have consultation with wise and trustworthy brothers-in-faith and preferably seek Divine guidance through supplications and Istikhara.

THE CAUSE OF SURVIVAL OF THE UNIVERSE

The Imam or the divine representative is needed not merely for the dissemination of the rules of the Shariah and their compliance. That is, his duty is not confined only to the guidance of the world but the whole creation depends upon him for their existence. If Imam ceases to exist, the entire system would collapse. It is related from Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (A.S.) that he stated, “If Imam (A.S.) is absent from the world even for a moment, the earth would suck in all its inhabitants like the stormy sea drowns the seafarers. “ (Ghaibat-e-Nomani, p. 139, Chap. 8, Hadith No. 10)

Nearly all Muslims are unanimous in their belief that the world has been created for the sake of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) and his purified progeny (A.S.). A well-known Hadith-e-Qudsi is that the Almighty Allah told the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) “But for you I would not have created the skies.”

Book “Khisal” by Allama Mohd Baqar Kamraie Volume 4 Page 57. Allama says, “By the end of the 4th century Hijri, Shias only had Quran, Ahadees-e-Rasool [as] and the traditions of Masoomeen which were the bases of “Hukm -e-Sharia” but when Shias started following the patterns of Aama (Ahl-e-Sunna ) writing books on Usool-e-Fiqh which were away from the traditions, they also included “Ijma and Daleel-e-Aqal” in from Ahl-e-Sunnah into Usool-e-Fiqh for Shias. When they realised that Ijma and Daleel-e-Aql are against the Maktab-e-Ahlul Bait , they got busy in doing “Taujeeh & Taweel” and started saying that from Ijmah we mean Traditions of Masoom and “Aql”. The use of “Fikr Araie” in “Masael-e-Usooli” resulted in the inclusion of Qayas in the name of “Tanqeeh” in Shia’ism.”

Hajj Bait Allah

This short article on ‘Hajj Bait Allah swt’ has been compiled from the traditions of masomeen as, consulting basic shia books, i.e., Manlah Yazarul Faqih, Al-Kafi, Wasial al Shia and Ilul Sheria1. A brief summary for performing Ummera as well as Hajj is also provided in the end, as a reference to the preceding traditions of masomeen as. An attempt has also been made to focus on the issue related to present-day living and social conditions. First we start with those traditions of masomeen as which emphasis on visiting the ‘Harram’ (buried place) of Masomeen as, followed by Quranic Verses, which refer to the ritual of Hajj, traditions related to its sequence and intricacies.
