الٓر ۚ تِلْكَ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ وَقُرْءَانٍ مُّبِينٍ
Alif-Laaam-Raa; tilka Aayaatul Kitaabi wa Qur-aa-nim Mubeen
Alif Lam Ra. These are the Verses of the Book and a Clarifying Quran

الٓر ۚ تِلْكَ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ وَقُرْءَانٍ مُّبِينٍ
Alif-Laaam-Raa; tilka Aayaatul Kitaabi wa Qur-aa-nim Mubeen
Alif Lam Ra. These are the Verses of the Book and a Clarifying Quran
Tafseer · verses 1–44رُّبَمَا يَوَدُّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ مُسْلِمِينَ
Rubamaa yawaddul lazeena kafaroo law kaanoo muslimeen
Sometimes those who are committing Kufr would ardently wish if only they had been submitters
Tafseer · verses 1–44ذَرْهُمْ يَأْكُلُوا۟ وَيَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ وَيُلْهِهِمُ ٱلْأَمَلُ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
Zarhum yaakuloo wa yatamatta'oo wa yulhihimul amalu fasawfa ya'lamoon
Leave them to eat and enjoy themselves and for the hopes to delude them, for soon they will come to know
Tafseer · verses 1–44وَمَآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا وَلَهَا كِتَابٌ مَّعْلُومٌ
Wa maaa ahlaknaa min qaryatin illaa wa lahaa kitaabum ma'loom
And We did not Destroy a town except and for it is a known Ordainment
Tafseer · verses 1–44مَّا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَ
Maa tasbiqu min ummatin ajalahaa wa maa yastaakhiroon
No community can preceded its term nor can they delay themselves (from it)
Tafseer · verses 1–44وَقَالُوا۟ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِى نُزِّلَ عَلَيْهِ ٱلذِّكْرُ إِنَّكَ لَمَجْنُونٌ
Wa qaaloo yaaa aiyuhal lazee nuzzila 'alaihiz Zikru innaka lamajnoon
And they are saying, ‘O you upon whom the Reminder has Revealed, you are insane!
Tafseer · verses 1–44لَّوْ مَا تَأْتِينَا بِٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
Law maa taateenaa bil malaaa'ikati in kunta minas saadiqeen
Why don’t you come to us with the Angels if you were from the truthful ones?’
Tafseer · verses 1–44مَا نُنَزِّلُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَمَا كَانُوٓا۟ إِذًا مُّنظَرِينَ
Maa nunazzilul malaaa'i kata illaa bilhaqqi wa maa kaanooo izam munzareen
We do not Send down the Angels except with the Truth, and then they would not be Given Respite
Tafseer · verses 1–44إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا ٱلذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَـٰفِظُونَ
Innaa Nahnu nazalnaz Zikra wa Innaa lahoo lahaa fizoon
Surely, We Sent down the Zikr (Reminder) and We are the Protectors for him
Tafseer · verses 1–44وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ فِى شِيَعِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
Wa laqad arsalnaa min qablika fee shiya'il awwaleen
And We had Sent Rasools before you among the former sects
Tafseer · verses 1–44وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
Wa maa yaateehim mir Rasoolin illaa kaanoo bihee yastahzi'oon
And there did not come to them a Rasool except that they were mocking with him
Tafseer · verses 1–44كَذَٰلِكَ نَسْلُكُهُۥ فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
kazaalika naslukuhoo fee quloobil mujrimeen
Like that we Let it go into the hearts of the criminals
Tafseer · verses 1–44لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ ۖ وَقَدْ خَلَتْ سُنَّةُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
Laa yu'minoona bihee wa qad khalat sunnatul awwaleen
They will not believe in it, and the ways of the former ones have passed
Tafseer · verses 1–44وَلَوْ فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَابًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَظَلُّوا۟ فِيهِ يَعْرُجُونَ
Wa law fatahnaa 'alaihim baabam minas samaaa'i fazaloo feehi ya'rujoon
And if We were to Open for them a gateway of the sky, they would have kept on ascending into it
Tafseer · verses 1–44لَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتْ أَبْصَـٰرُنَا بَلْ نَحْنُ قَوْمٌ مَّسْحُورُونَ
Laqaaloo innamaa sukkirat absaarunaa bal nahnu qawmum mashooroon
They would have said, ‘But rather, our eyes are intoxicated, but we are a people bewitched’
Tafseer · verses 1–44وَلَقَدْ جَعَلْنَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ بُرُوجًا وَزَيَّنَّـٰهَا لِلنَّـٰظِرِينَ
Wa laqad ja'alnaa fissamaaa'i buroojanw wa zaiyannaahaa linnaazireen
And We have Made constellations to be in the sky and Adorned it for the spectators
Tafseer · verses 1–44وَحَفِظْنَـٰهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيْطَـٰنٍ رَّجِيمٍ
Wa hafiznaahaa min kulli Shaitaanir rajeem
And We Guard these against every Pelted Satan
Tafseer · verses 1–44إِلَّا مَنِ ٱسْتَرَقَ ٱلسَّمْعَ فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٌ مُّبِينٌ
Illaa manis taraqas sam'a fa atba'ahoo shihaabum mubeen
Except one who steals the hearing, so there pursued him a visible flame
Tafseer · verses 1–44وَٱلْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَـٰهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ وَأَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ شَىْءٍ مَّوْزُونٍ
Wal arda madadnaahaa wa alqainaa feehaa rawaasiya wa ambatnaa feehaa min kulli shai'im mawzoon
And the earth - We Extended it and Cast mountains to be therein and Grew therein from every suitable thing
Tafseer · verses 1–44وَجَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِيهَا مَعَـٰيِشَ وَمَن لَّسْتُمْ لَهُۥ بِرَٰزِقِينَ
Wa ja'alnaa lakum feehaa ma'aayisha wa mal lastum lahoo biraaziqeen
And We have made for you therein means of livelihood, and for those for whom you (Prophet) are not providers
Tafseer · verses 1–44وَإِن مِّن شَىْءٍ إِلَّا عِندَنَا خَزَآئِنُهُۥ وَمَا نُنَزِّلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا بِقَدَرٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
Wa im min shai'in illaa 'indanaa khazaaa 'inuhoo wa maa nunazziluhooo illaa biqadarim ma'loom
And there is not a thing except in Our Presence is its store, and We do not Send it down except by a known measure
Tafseer · verses 1–44وَأَرْسَلْنَا ٱلرِّيَـٰحَ لَوَٰقِحَ فَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَأَسْقَيْنَـٰكُمُوهُ وَمَآ أَنتُمْ لَهُۥ بِخَـٰزِنِينَ
Wa arsalnar riyaaha la waaqiha fa anzalnaa minas samaaa'i maaa'an fa asqai naakumoohu wa maaa antum lahoo bikhaazineen
And We Send the winds for fertilisation and We Send down water from the sky, so We Quench you, and you are not the keepers for its storage
Tafseer · verses 1–44وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ نُحْىِۦ وَنُمِيتُ وَنَحْنُ ٱلْوَٰرِثُونَ
Wa innnaa la nahnu nuhyee wa numeetu wa nahnul waarisoon
And surely (it is) for Us. We Cause to live and We Cause to die and We are the Inheritors
Tafseer · verses 1–44وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا ٱلْمُسْتَقْدِمِينَ مِنكُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا ٱلْمُسْتَـْٔخِرِينَ
Wa la qad 'alimnal mustaqdimeena minkum wa laqad 'alimnal mustaakhireen
And We Knew of the preceding ones from you and We Know of the delayed ones
Tafseer · verses 1–44وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ حَكِيمٌ عَلِيمٌ
Wa inna Rabbaka Huwa yahshuruhum; innahoo Hakeemun 'Aleem
And surely your Lord, He would be Gathering them. He is Wise, Knowing
Tafseer · verses 1–44وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِن صَلْصَـٰلٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ
Wa laqad khalaqnal insaana min salsaalim min hama im masnoon
And We have Created the human being from clay of matured mud, altered
Tafseer · verses 1–44وَٱلْجَآنَّ خَلَقْنَـٰهُ مِن قَبْلُ مِن نَّارِ ٱلسَّمُومِ
Waljaaanna khalaqnaahu min qablu min naaris samoom
And the Jaan, We Created him from before, from the toxic fire
Tafseer · verses 1–44وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ إِنِّى خَـٰلِقٌۢ بَشَرًا مِّن صَلْصَـٰلٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ
Wa iz qaala Rabbuka lilmalaaa' ikati innee khaaliqum basharam min salsaalim min hama im masnoon
And when your Lord Said to the Angels: “I will Create a person from clay of matured mud, altered
Tafseer · verses 1–44فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُهُۥ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِى فَقَعُوا۟ لَهُۥ سَـٰجِدِينَ
Fa izaa sawwaituhoo wa nafakhtu feehi mir roohee faqa'oo lahoo saajideen
When I Complete him and Blow into him from My Spirit, then fall down towards him in Sajdah”
Tafseer · verses 1–44فَسَجَدَ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ
Fasajadal malaaa'ikatu kulluhum ajma'oon
So, the Angels did Sajdah, all of them in their entirety
Tafseer · verses 1–44إِلَّآ إِبْلِيسَ أَبَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ
Illaaa ibleesa abaaa ai yakoona ma'as saajideen
Except for Iblees. He refused to become with the prostrating ones
Tafseer · verses 1–44قَالَ يَـٰٓإِبْلِيسُ مَا لَكَ أَلَّا تَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ
Qaala yaaa Ibleesu maa laka allaa takoona ma'as saajideen
He said: “O Iblees! What is the matter with you that you are not becoming with the prostrating ones?”
Tafseer · verses 1–44قَالَ لَمْ أَكُن لِّأَسْجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقْتَهُۥ مِن صَلْصَـٰلٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ
Qaala lam akul li asjuda libasharin khalaqtahoo min salsaalim min hama im masnoon
He said, ‘I will not become one to do Sajdah to a person You Created from clay of matured mud, altered’
Tafseer · verses 1–44قَالَ فَٱخْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيمٌ
Qaala fakhruj minhaa fa innaka rajeem
He said: “Then exit from it, for you are Pelted
Tafseer · verses 1–44وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ ٱللَّعْنَةَ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ
Wa inna 'alaikal la'nata ilaa Yawmid Deen
And surely upon you is the Curse up to the Day of the Religion (Reckoning)!”
Tafseer · verses 1–44قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
Qaala Rabbi fa anzirneee ilaa Yawmi yub'asoon
He said, ‘Lord! Then Respite me up to the Day they would be Resurrected’
Tafseer · verses 1–44قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنظَرِينَ
Qaala fa innaka minal munzareen
He said: “So you are from the Respited ones
Tafseer · verses 1–44إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْوَقْتِ ٱلْمَعْلُومِ
Ilaa Yawmil waqtil ma'loom
Up to the Day of the known time”
Tafseer · verses 1–44قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَآ أَغْوَيْتَنِى لَأُزَيِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
Qaala Rabbi bimaaa aghwaitanee la uzayyin anna lahum fil ardi wa la ughwiyan nahum ajma'een
He said, ‘Lord! Due to You having Misled me, I will adorn for them in the earth and will mislead them in their entirety
Tafseer · verses 1–44إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
Illaa 'ibaadaka minhumul mukhlaseen
Except for Your servants from them, the sincere ones’
Tafseer · verses 1–44قَالَ هَـٰذَا صِرَٰطٌ عَلَىَّ مُسْتَقِيمٌ
Qaala haaza Siraatun 'alaiya Mustaqeem
He said: “This Path of Ali is Straight”
Tafseer · verses 1–44إِنَّ عِبَادِى لَيْسَ لَكَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَـٰنٌ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْغَاوِينَ
Inna 'ibaadee laisa laka 'alaihim sultaanun illaa manittaba'aka minal ghaaween
Surely, (as for) My servants, there wouldn’t be any authority for you upon them, except for the ones who follow you from the straying ones
Tafseer · verses 1–44وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمَوْعِدُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
Wa inna jahannama lamaw'iduhum ajma'een
And surely Hell is Promised to them altogether
Tafseer · verses 1–44لَهَا سَبْعَةُ أَبْوَٰبٍ لِّكُلِّ بَابٍ مِّنْهُمْ جُزْءٌ مَّقْسُومٌ
Lahaa sab'atu abwaab; likulli baabim minhum juz'um maqsoom
For it there are seven doors, each door being for an Assigned segment of them
Tafseer · verses 1–44إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
Innal muttaqeena fee Jannaatinw wa 'uyoon
Surely, the pious will be in Gardens and Springs
Tafseer · verses 45–99ٱدْخُلُوهَا بِسَلَـٰمٍ ءَامِنِينَ
Udkhuloohaa bisalaamin aamineen
“Enter it in peace, security!”
Tafseer · verses 45–99وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِى صُدُورِهِم مِّنْ غِلٍّ إِخْوَٰنًا عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مُّتَقَـٰبِلِينَ
Wa naza'naa ma fee sudoorihim min ghillin ikhwaanan 'alaa sururim mutaqaabileen
And We shall Remove whatever is in their chests from grudges, as brethren upon couches face to face
Tafseer · verses 45–99لَا يَمَسُّهُمْ فِيهَا نَصَبٌ وَمَا هُم مِّنْهَا بِمُخْرَجِينَ
Laa yamas suhum feehaa nasabunw wa maa hum minhaa bimukhrajeen
Toil shall touch them therein, and they will not be exited from it
Tafseer · verses 45–99۞ نَبِّئْ عِبَادِىٓ أَنِّىٓ أَنَا ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
Nabbi' 'ibaadeee annneee anal Ghafoorur Raheem
Inform My servants that I am the Forgiving, the Merciful!
Tafseer · verses 45–99وَأَنَّ عَذَابِى هُوَ ٱلْعَذَابُ ٱلْأَلِيمُ
Wa anna 'azaabee huwal 'azaabul aleem
And surely My Punishment, it is the painful Punishment
Tafseer · verses 45–99وَنَبِّئْهُمْ عَن ضَيْفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
Wa nabbi'hum 'an zaifi Ibraaheem
And inform them about the guests of Ibrahim
Tafseer · verses 45–99إِذْ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا۟ سَلَـٰمًا قَالَ إِنَّا مِنكُمْ وَجِلُونَ
Iz dakhaloo 'alaihi faqaaloo salaaman qaala innaa minkum wajiloon
When they came up to him, they said, ‘Salam!’ He said: ‘We are afraid of you’.
Tafseer · verses 45–99قَالُوا۟ لَا تَوْجَلْ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَـٰمٍ عَلِيمٍ
Qaaloo la tawjal innaa nubashshiruka bighulaamin 'aleem
They said: ‘Do not be afraid. We give you glad tidings of a knowledgeable boy
Tafseer · verses 45–99قَالَ أَبَشَّرْتُمُونِى عَلَىٰٓ أَن مَّسَّنِىَ ٱلْكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُونَ
Qaala abashshartumoonee 'alaaa am massaniyal kibaru fabima tubashshiroon
He said: ‘Are you giving me glad tidings upon the old age having touched me! So by what are you giving me glad tidings?’
Tafseer · verses 45–99قَالُوا۟ بَشَّرْنَـٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْقَـٰنِطِينَ
Qaaloo bashsharnaaka bilhaqqi falaa takum minal qaaniteen
They said: ‘We give you glad tidings by the Truth, therefore do no become from the despairing ones’
Tafseer · verses 45–99قَالَ وَمَن يَقْنَطُ مِن رَّحْمَةِ رَبِّهِۦٓ إِلَّا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ
Qaala wa mai yaqnatu mir rahmati Rabbiheee illad daaaloon
He said: ‘And who would despair from Mercy of his Lord except for the straying ones?’
Tafseer · verses 45–99قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
Qaala famaa khatbukum aiyuhal mursaloon
He said: ‘What is your concern, O you messengers?’
Tafseer · verses 45–99قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ أُرْسِلْنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِينَ
Qaaloo innaaa ursilnaaa ilaa qawmim mujrimeen
They said: ‘We are Sent to a criminal people,
Tafseer · verses 45–99إِلَّآ ءَالَ لُوطٍ إِنَّا لَمُنَجُّوهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
Illaaa Aala Loot; innaa lamunajjoohum ajma'een
Except for the family of Lut, We would be rescuing them altogether
Tafseer · verses 45–99إِلَّا ٱمْرَأَتَهُۥ قَدَّرْنَآ ۙ إِنَّهَا لَمِنَ ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ
Illam ra atahoo qaddarnaaa innahaa laminal ghaabireen
Except for his wife. We have decreed for her to be from the ones remaining behind’
Tafseer · verses 45–99فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ءَالَ لُوطٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
Falamma jaaa'a Aala Lootinil mursaloon
When the messengers came to the family of Lut
Tafseer · verses 45–99قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّنكَرُونَ
Qaala innakum qawmum munkaroon
He said: ‘You are a people unknown (to me)’
Tafseer · verses 45–99قَالُوا۟ بَلْ جِئْنَـٰكَ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ
Qaaloo bal ji'naaka bimaa kaanoo feehi yamtaroon
They said: ‘But, we come to you with what they were disputing about
Tafseer · verses 45–99وَأَتَيْنَـٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَإِنَّا لَصَـٰدِقُونَ
Wa atainaaka bilhaqqi wa innaa lasaadiqoon
And we come to you with the Truth, and we are truthful
Tafseer · verses 45–99فَأَسْرِ بِأَهْلِكَ بِقِطْعٍ مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱتَّبِعْ أَدْبَـٰرَهُمْ وَلَا يَلْتَفِتْ مِنكُمْ أَحَدٌ وَٱمْضُوا۟ حَيْثُ تُؤْمَرُونَ
Fa asri bi ahlika biqit'im minal laili wattabi' adbaarahum wa laa yaltafit minkum ahadunw wamdoo haisu tu'maroon
So, travel with your family in a part of the night and you follow behind them, and not one of you should turn back, and go wherever you are Commanded to
Tafseer · verses 45–99وَقَضَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْأَمْرَ أَنَّ دَابِرَ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ مَقْطُوعٌ مُّصْبِحِينَ
Wa qadainaaa ilaihi zaalikal amra anna daabira haaa'ulaaa'i maqtoo'um musbiheen
And We (Made known) the decree to him, that the roots of these shall be cut off by the morning
Tafseer · verses 45–99وَجَآءَ أَهْلُ ٱلْمَدِينَةِ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ
Wa jaaa'a ahlul madeenati yastabshiroon
And the people of the city came out rejoicing (at the new arrivals)
Tafseer · verses 45–99قَالَ إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ ضَيْفِى فَلَا تَفْضَحُونِ
Qaala inna haaa'ulaaa'i daifee falaa tafdahoon
He (Lut) said: ‘Surely these are my guests, therefore do not disgrace me’
Tafseer · verses 45–99وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُخْزُونِ
Wattaqul laaha wa laa tukhzoon
And fear Allah and do not humiliate me’
Tafseer · verses 45–99قَالُوٓا۟ أَوَلَمْ نَنْهَكَ عَنِ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
Qaalooo awalam nanhaka 'anil 'aalameen
They said, ‘Have we not forbidden you from (speaking to) people?’
Tafseer · verses 45–99قَالَ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ بَنَاتِىٓ إِن كُنتُمْ فَـٰعِلِينَ
Qaala haaa'ulaaa'i banaateee in kuntum faa'ileen
He said: ‘These here are my daughters, if you would be willing so’
Tafseer · verses 45–99لَعَمْرُكَ إِنَّهُمْ لَفِى سَكْرَتِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ
La'amruka innahum lafee sakratihim ya'mahoon
By your life (O Muhammad)! They were blindly wandering on in their intoxication
Tafseer · verses 45–99فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ مُشْرِقِينَ
Fa akhazat humus saihatu mushriqeen
So, the Scream Seized them at sunrise
Tafseer · verses 45–99فَجَعَلْنَا عَـٰلِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِّن سِجِّيلٍ
Faja'alnaa 'aaliyahaa saafilahaa wa amtarnaa 'alaihim hijaaratam min sijjeel
So, We Made its top to be its bottom and Rained upon them stones of clay
Tafseer · verses 45–99إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ لِّلْمُتَوَسِّمِينَ
Inna fee zaalika la Aayaatil lilmutawassimeen
Surely, in that are Signs for the distinguishers
Tafseer · verses 45–99وَإِنَّهَا لَبِسَبِيلٍ مُّقِيمٍ
Wa innahaa labi sabeelim muqeem
And it is on an enduring way
Tafseer · verses 45–99إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Inna fee zaalika la Aayatal lilmu'mineen
Surely, in that there is a Sign for the Momineen
Tafseer · verses 45–99وَإِن كَانَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْأَيْكَةِ لَظَـٰلِمِينَ
Wa in kaana Ashaabul Aikati lazaalimeen
And the dwellers of the thicket used to be unjust
Tafseer · verses 45–99فَٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامٍ مُّبِينٍ
Fantaqamnaa minhum wa innahumaa labi imaamim mubeen
So, We Took Revenge from them, and they were both upon a clear highway
Tafseer · verses 45–99وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْحِجْرِ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
Wa laqad kazzaba ashaabul Hijril mursaleen
And the dwellers of the Rock belied the Rasools
Tafseer · verses 45–99وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمْ ءَايَـٰتِنَا فَكَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ
Wa aatainaahum Aayaatinaa fakaanoo 'anhaa mu'rizeen
And We Gave them Our Signs, but they used to turn away from them
Tafseer · verses 45–99وَكَانُوا۟ يَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا ءَامِنِينَ
Wa kaanoo yanhitoona minal jibaali buyootan aamineen
And they had hewed out secure houses from the mountains
Tafseer · verses 45–99فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ مُصْبِحِينَ
Fa akhazat humus saihatu musbiheen
So, the Scream Seized them in the morning
Tafseer · verses 45–99فَمَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ
Famaaa aghnaa 'anhum maa kaanoo yaksiboon
And it did not avail from them what they had been earning
Tafseer · verses 45–99وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ ۗ وَإِنَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ لَـَٔاتِيَةٌ ۖ فَٱصْفَحِ ٱلصَّفْحَ ٱلْجَمِيلَ
Wa maa khalaqnas samaawaati wal arda wa maa bainahumaaa illaa bilhaqq; wa innas Saa'ata la aatiyatun fasfahis safhal jameel
And We did not Create the skies and the earth and what is between them except with the Truth. And surely the House would come, therefore pardon with the beautiful pardoning
Tafseer · verses 45–99إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ ٱلْخَلَّـٰقُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
Inna Rabbaka Huwal khallaaqul 'aleem
Surely your Lord, He is the All-Knowing Creator
Tafseer · verses 45–99وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَـٰكَ سَبْعًا مِّنَ ٱلْمَثَانِى وَٱلْقُرْءَانَ ٱلْعَظِيمَ
Wa laqad aatainaaka sab'am minal masaanee wal Qur-aanal 'Azeem
And We have Given you seven from Al-Masaany and the Magnificent Quran
Tafseer · verses 45–99لَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ إِلَىٰ مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهِۦٓ أَزْوَٰجًا مِّنْهُمْ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَٱخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Laa tamuddanna 'ainaika ilaa maa matta 'naa biheee azwaajam minhum wa laa tahzan 'alaihim wakhfid janaahaka lilmu 'mineen
Do not extend your eyes to what We have Provided with two categories from them, nor grieve upon them, and lower your wings towards the Momineen
Tafseer · verses 45–99وَقُلْ إِنِّىٓ أَنَا ٱلنَّذِيرُ ٱلْمُبِينُ
Wa qul inneee anan nazeerul mubeen
And say: ‘Surely I am the clear Warner’
Tafseer · verses 45–99كَمَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَى ٱلْمُقْتَسِمِينَ
Kamaaa anzalnaa 'alal muqtasimeen
Like what We Sent to the dividers
Tafseer · verses 45–99ٱلَّذِينَ جَعَلُوا۟ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ عِضِينَ
Allazeena ja'alul Quraana'izeen
Those who made the Quran to be parts
Tafseer · verses 45–99فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسْـَٔلَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
Fawa Rabbika lanas'a lannahum ajma'een
So, by your Lord! We will be Questioning them altogether
Tafseer · verses 45–99فَٱصْدَعْ بِمَا تُؤْمَرُ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
Fasda' bimaa tu'maru wa a'rid anil mushrikeen
So, proclaim what you are Commanded with and turn away from the polytheists
Tafseer · verses 45–99إِنَّا كَفَيْنَـٰكَ ٱلْمُسْتَهْزِءِينَ
Innaa kafainaakal mustahzi'een
We will Suffice you against the scoffers
Tafseer · verses 45–99ٱلَّذِينَ يَجْعَلُونَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ ۚ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
Allazeena yaj'aloona ma'al laahi ilaahan aakhar; fasawfa ya'lamoon
Those who are making another god with Allah, so soon they shall come to know
Tafseer · verses 45–99وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ يَضِيقُ صَدْرُكَ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ
Wa laqad na'lamu annaka yadeequ sadruka bimaa yaqooloon
And We have Known that you tend to constrict your chest due to what they are saying
Tafseer · verses 45–99فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَكُن مِّنَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ
Fasbbih bihamdi Rabbika wa kum minas saajideen
Therefore, Glorify with the Praise of your Lord, and become from the prostrating ones
Tafseer · verses 45–99وَٱعْبُدْ رَبَّكَ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَكَ ٱلْيَقِينُ
Wa'bud Rabbaka hattaa yaatiyakal yaqeen
And worship your Lord until there comes to you certainty
