Al-Mu'minun
The Believers · 118 verses
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى صَلَاتِهِمْ خَـٰشِعُونَ
Allazeena hum fee Salaatihim khaashi'oon
Those who are humble in their Salat(s)
Tafseer · verses 1–49وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَنِ ٱللَّغْوِ مُعْرِضُونَ
Wallazeena hum 'anillaghwimu'rizoon
And those who are turning away from the vanities
Tafseer · verses 1–49وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِلزَّكَوٰةِ فَـٰعِلُونَ
Wallazeena hum liz Zakaati faa'iloon
And those who are givers of the Zakat
Tafseer · verses 1–49وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَـٰفِظُونَ
Wallazeena hum lifuroo jihim haafizoon
And those who are guarding their private parts
Tafseer · verses 1–49إِلَّا عَلَىٰٓ أَزْوَٰجِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَـٰنُهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِينَ
Illaa 'alaaa azwaajihim aw maa malakat aimaanuhum fa innahum ghairu maloomeen
Except before their spouses or those whom their right hands possess, for they are not blameable
Tafseer · verses 1–49فَمَنِ ٱبْتَغَىٰ وَرَآءَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْعَادُونَ
Famanib taghaa waraaa'a zaalika fa ulaaa'ika humul 'aadoon
So, one who seeks beyond that, then those, they are the transgressors
Tafseer · verses 1–49وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِأَمَـٰنَـٰتِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَٰعُونَ
Wallazeena hum li amaanaatihim wa 'ahdihim raa'oon
And those who are keepers of their trusts and their covenants
Tafseer · verses 1–49وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَوَٰتِهِمْ يُحَافِظُونَ
Wallazeena hum 'alaa Salawaatihim yuhaafizoon
And those who are preserving upon their Salat(s)
Tafseer · verses 1–49أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْوَٰرِثُونَ
Ulaaa'ika humul waarisoon
These ones, they are the inheritors
Tafseer · verses 1–49ٱلَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ ٱلْفِرْدَوْسَ هُمْ فِيهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ
Allazeena yarisoonal Firdawsa hum feehaa khaalidoon
Those who would be inheriting the (Garden of) Firdows. They would be in it eternally
Tafseer · verses 1–49وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِن سُلَـٰلَةٍ مِّن طِينٍ
Wa laqad khalaqnal insaana min sulaalatim minteen
And We have Created the human being from an extract of clay
Tafseer · verses 1–49ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَـٰهُ نُطْفَةً فِى قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ
Summa ja'alnaahu nutfatan fee qaraarim makeen
Then We Made him a seed in a firm resting place
Tafseer · verses 1–49ثُمَّ خَلَقْنَا ٱلنُّطْفَةَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقْنَا ٱلْعَلَقَةَ مُضْغَةً فَخَلَقْنَا ٱلْمُضْغَةَ عِظَـٰمًا فَكَسَوْنَا ٱلْعِظَـٰمَ لَحْمًا ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَـٰهُ خَلْقًا ءَاخَرَ ۚ فَتَبَارَكَ ٱللَّهُ أَحْسَنُ ٱلْخَـٰلِقِينَ
Summa khalaqnan nutfata 'alaqatan fakhalaqnal 'alaqata mudghatan fakhalaq nal mudghata 'izaaman fakasawnal 'izaama lahman summa anshaanaahu khalqan aakhar; fatabaarakal laahu ahsanul khaaliqeen
Then We Created the seed to be a clot, then We Created the clot to be a lump of flesh, then We Created the lump as bones, then We Clothed the bones with flesh, then We Grow it as another creation. So Blessed is Allah, the best of the Creators
Tafseer · verses 1–49ثُمَّ إِنَّكُم بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ لَمَيِّتُونَ
Summa innakum ba'da zaalika la maiyitoon
Then after that you will be dying
Tafseer · verses 1–49ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ تُبْعَثُونَ
Summa innakum Yawmal Qiyaamati tub'asoon
Then on the Day of Judgement, you shall be Resurrected
Tafseer · verses 1–49وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعَ طَرَآئِقَ وَمَا كُنَّا عَنِ ٱلْخَلْقِ غَـٰفِلِينَ
Wa laqad khalaqnaa fawqakum sab'a taraaa'iqa wa maa kunnaa 'anil khalqi ghaafileen
And Created above you seven pathways; and We are not Heedless about the creation
Tafseer · verses 1–49وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۢ بِقَدَرٍ فَأَسْكَنَّـٰهُ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰ ذَهَابٍۭ بِهِۦ لَقَـٰدِرُونَ
Wa anzalnaa minas samaaa'i maaa'am biqadarin fa-askannaahu fil ardi wa innaa 'alaa zahaabim bihee laqaa diroon
And We send down water from the sky by a measurement, so We Settle it in the earth, and We are Able upon Doing away with it
Tafseer · verses 1–49فَأَنشَأْنَا لَكُم بِهِۦ جَنَّـٰتٍ مِّن نَّخِيلٍ وَأَعْنَـٰبٍ لَّكُمْ فِيهَا فَوَٰكِهُ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ
Fa anshaanaa lakum bihee Jannaatim min nakheelinw wa a'naab; lakum feehaa fawaakihu kaseeratunw wa minhaa taakuloon
Then We Grow gardens of palms trees and grapes by it for you, wherein are many fruits, and from these you are eating
Tafseer · verses 1–49وَشَجَرَةً تَخْرُجُ مِن طُورِ سَيْنَآءَ تَنۢبُتُ بِٱلدُّهْنِ وَصِبْغٍ لِّلْـَٔاكِلِينَ
Wa shajaratan takhruju min Toori Sainaaa'a tambutu bidduhni wa sibghil lil aakileen
And a tree coming out from (mount) Toor of Sinai, growing with the oil and a relish for the eaters
Tafseer · verses 1–49وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ لَعِبْرَةً ۖ نُّسْقِيكُم مِّمَّا فِى بُطُونِهَا وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَنَـٰفِعُ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ
Wa inna lakum fil an'aami la'ibrah; nusqeekum mimmaa fee butoonihaa wa lakum feehaa manaafi'u kaseeratunw wa minhaa taakuloon
And there is a lesson for you in the cattle. We Quench you from what is in their bellies, and for you there are many benefits, and from these you are eating
Tafseer · verses 1–49وَعَلَيْهَا وَعَلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ تُحْمَلُونَ
Wa 'alaihaa wa'alal fulki tuhmaloon
And upon these and upon the ships you are being carried
Tafseer · verses 1–49وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ فَقَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَـٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ ۖ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
Wa laqad arsalnaa Noohan ilaa qawmihee faqaala yaa qawmi'budul laaha maa lakum min ilahin ghairuhoo afalaa tattaqoon
And We had Sent Noah to his people, and he said: ‘O people! Worship Allah. There is no other god for you. So will you not be fearing?’
Tafseer · verses 1–49فَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ مَا هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يُرِيدُ أَن يَتَفَضَّلَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَأَنزَلَ مَلَـٰٓئِكَةً مَّا سَمِعْنَا بِهَـٰذَا فِىٓ ءَابَآئِنَا ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
Faqaalal mala'ul lazeena kafaroo min qawmihee maa haazaaa illaa basharum mislukum yureedu ai yatafaddala 'alaikum wa law shaaa'al laahu la anzala malaaa'ikatam maa sami'naa bihaazaa feee aabaaa'inal awwaleen
So, the chiefs of those from his people who committed Kufr, said, ‘This one is not but a person like you. He wants the superiority over you, and had Allah Desired so, He would have Sent down Angels. We have not heard of this among our forefathers, the former ones
Tafseer · verses 1–49إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌۢ بِهِۦ جِنَّةٌ فَتَرَبَّصُوا۟ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
In huwa illaa rajulum bihee jinnatun fatarabbasoo bihee hatta heen
Surely, he is only a man with insanity, so bear with him for a while’
Tafseer · verses 1–49قَالَ رَبِّ ٱنصُرْنِى بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ
Qaala Rabbin surnee bimaa kazzaboon
He said: ‘Lord! Help me against what they are belying!’
Tafseer · verses 1–49فَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِ أَنِ ٱصْنَعِ ٱلْفُلْكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا فَإِذَا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا وَفَارَ ٱلتَّنُّورُ ۙ فَٱسْلُكْ فِيهَا مِن كُلٍّ زَوْجَيْنِ ٱثْنَيْنِ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا مَن سَبَقَ عَلَيْهِ ٱلْقَوْلُ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَلَا تُخَـٰطِبْنِى فِى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ ۖ إِنَّهُم مُّغْرَقُونَ
Fa awhainaaa ilaihi anis na'il fulka bi a'yuninaa wa wahyinaa fa izaa jaaa'a amrunaa wa faarat tannooru fasluk feehaa min kullin zawjainis naini wa ahlaka illaa man sabaqa 'alaihil qawlu minhum walaa tukhaatibnee fil lazeena zalamooo innaahum mughraqoon
So, We Revealed unto him: “Make the ship before Our eyes and (according to) Our Revelation, and when Our Command comes and the oven overflows, take into it two from every pair, and your family, except one against whom the Word has preceded, and do not Address Me regarding those who are unjust, they would be drowned!
Tafseer · verses 1–49فَإِذَا ٱسْتَوَيْتَ أَنتَ وَمَن مَّعَكَ عَلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ فَقُلِ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى نَجَّىٰنَا مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
Fa izas tawaita anta wa mam ma'aka 'alal fulki faqulil hamdu lillaahil lazee najjaanaa minal qawmiz zalimeen
So, when you are established upon the ship, you and the ones with you, then say: ‘The Praise is for Allah, Who Rescued us from the unjust people’
Tafseer · verses 1–49وَقُل رَّبِّ أَنزِلْنِى مُنزَلًا مُّبَارَكًا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْمُنزِلِينَ
Wa qur Rabbi anzilnee munzalam mubaarakanw wa Anta khairul munzileen
And say: ‘Lord! Disembark me in a Blessed landing, and you are the best of the Landers’
Tafseer · verses 1–49إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ وَإِن كُنَّا لَمُبْتَلِينَ
Inna fee zaalika la Aayaatinw wa in kunnaa lamubtaleen
Surely there are signs in that, and We would always be Testing!”
Tafseer · verses 1–49ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ قَرْنًا ءَاخَرِينَ
Summaa anshaana mim ba'dihim qarnan aakhareen
Then We Raised up from after them, another generation
Tafseer · verses 1–49فَأَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا مِّنْهُمْ أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَـٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ ۖ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
Fa arsalnaa feehim Rasoolam minhum ani'budul laaha maa lakum min ilaahin ghairuhoo afalaa tattaqoon
So, We Sent a Rasool among them (saying): ‘Worship Allah, there is no god for you apart from Him, so will you not be fearing?’
Tafseer · verses 1–49وَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِهِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِلِقَآءِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَأَتْرَفْنَـٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا مَا هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يَأْكُلُ مِمَّا تَأْكُلُونَ مِنْهُ وَيَشْرَبُ مِمَّا تَشْرَبُونَ
Wa qaalal mala-u min qawmihil lazeena kafaroo wa kazzaboo bi liqaaa'il Aakhirati wa atrafnaahum fil hayaatid dunyaa maa haazaaa illaa basharum mislukum yaakulu mimmaa taakuloona minhu wa yashrabu mimmaa tashraboon
And the chiefs from his people, those who were committing Kuf and belying the meeting of the Hereafter, and We had surround them in luxuries in the life of the world, said, ‘This one is not but a person like you. He eats from what you are eating from, and he drinks from what you are drinking
Tafseer · verses 1–49وَلَئِنْ أَطَعْتُم بَشَرًا مِّثْلَكُمْ إِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّخَـٰسِرُونَ
Wa la'in at'atum basharam mislakum innakum izal lakhaasiroon
And if you were to obey a person like yourselves, then you would be the losers
Tafseer · verses 1–49أَيَعِدُكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ إِذَا مِتُّمْ وَكُنتُمْ تُرَابًا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَنَّكُم مُّخْرَجُونَ
A-Ya'idukum annakum izaa mittum wa kuntum turaabanw wa izaaman annakum mukhrajoon
He promises you that when you are dead and become dust and bones you would be brought forth
Tafseer · verses 1–49۞ هَيْهَاتَ هَيْهَاتَ لِمَا تُوعَدُونَ
Haihaata haihaata limaa too'adoon
Far it is! Far it is, what you are being promised!
Tafseer · verses 1–49إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا ٱلدُّنْيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحْيَا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَبْعُوثِينَ
In hiya illaa hayaatunad dunyaa namootu wa nahyaa wa maa nahnu bimab'ooseen
Surely, it is only our life of the world. We die and we live, and we will not be Resurrected
Tafseer · verses 1–49إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا وَمَا نَحْنُ لَهُۥ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ
In huwa illaa rajulunif taraa 'alal laahi kazibanw wa maa nahnuu lahoo bimu'mineen
Surely, he is only a man who fabricates a lie upon Allah, and we will not be believing in him’
Tafseer · verses 1–49قَالَ رَبِّ ٱنصُرْنِى بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ
Qaala Rabbin surnee bimaa kazzaboon
He said: ‘Lord! Help me against what they are belying!’
Tafseer · verses 1–49قَالَ عَمَّا قَلِيلٍ لَّيُصْبِحُنَّ نَـٰدِمِينَ
Qaala 'ammaa qaleelil la yusbihunna naadimeen
He said: “In a little while they would become regretful!”
Tafseer · verses 1–49فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ غُثَآءً ۚ فَبُعْدًا لِّلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
Fa akhazat humus saihatu bilhaqqi faja'alnaahum ghusaaa'aa; fabu'dal lilqaw miz zaalimeen
So, the Scream seized them with the truth, and We Made them as scum. Therefore, remoteness is for the unjust people
Tafseer · verses 1–49ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ قُرُونًا ءَاخَرِينَ
Summa anshaanaa mim ba'dihim quroonan aakhareen
Then We Raised from after them, other generations
Tafseer · verses 1–49مَا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَ
Maa tasbiqu min ummatin ajalahaa wa maa yastaakhiroon
None from a community can hasten its term nor can they delay (it)
Tafseer · verses 1–49ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلَنَا تَتْرَا ۖ كُلَّ مَا جَآءَ أُمَّةً رَّسُولُهَا كَذَّبُوهُ ۚ فَأَتْبَعْنَا بَعْضَهُم بَعْضًا وَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ أَحَادِيثَ ۚ فَبُعْدًا لِّقَوْمٍ لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ
Summa arsalnaa Rusulanaa tatraa kulla maa jaaa'a ummatar Rasooluhaa kazzabooh; fa atba'naa ba'dahum ba'danw wa ja'alnaahum ahaadees; fabu'dal liqawmil laa yu'minoon
Then We sent Our messengers one after another. Every time its Rasool came to a community, they belied him. So We Caused some of them to follow the others and We Made them as narrations. So remoteness is for a people who do not believe!
Tafseer · verses 1–49ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَأَخَاهُ هَـٰرُونَ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا وَسُلْطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ
Summa arsalnaa Moosaa wa akhaahu Haaroona bi Aayaatinaa wa sultaanim mubeen
Then We Sent Musa and his brother Haroun, with Our Signs and a clear Authority
Tafseer · verses 1–49إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦ فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا عَالِينَ
Ilaa Fir'awna wa mala'ihee fastakbaroo wa kaanoo qawman 'aaleen
To Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they were arrogant and they were a haughty people
Tafseer · verses 1–49فَقَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ لِبَشَرَيْنِ مِثْلِنَا وَقَوْمُهُمَا لَنَا عَـٰبِدُونَ
Faqaaloo annu'minu libasharaini mislinaa wa qawmuhumaa lanaa 'aabidoon
So, they said, ‘Should we believe in two persons like us and their people worship to us?’
Tafseer · verses 1–49فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَكَانُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُهْلَكِينَ
Fakazzaboohumaa fakaanoo minal muhlakeen
Thus, they belied them both, so they were from the Destroyed ones
Tafseer · verses 1–49وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ
Wa laqad aatainaa Moosal Kitaaba la'allahum yahtadoon
And We had Given Musa the Book, perhaps they would be rightly Guided
Tafseer · verses 1–49وَجَعَلْنَا ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَأُمَّهُۥٓ ءَايَةً وَءَاوَيْنَـٰهُمَآ إِلَىٰ رَبْوَةٍ ذَاتِ قَرَارٍ وَمَعِينٍ
Wa ja'alnab na Maryama wa ummahooo aayatannw wa aawainaahumaaa ilaa rabwatin zaati qaraarinw wa ma'een
And We Made the son of Maryam and his mother to be a Sign, and We Sheltered them on a high ground with tranquillity and springs
Tafseer · verses 50–118يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلرُّسُلُ كُلُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِ وَٱعْمَلُوا۟ صَـٰلِحًا ۖ إِنِّى بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ عَلِيمٌ
Yaaa aiyuhar Rusulu kuloo minat taiyibaati wa'maloo saalihan innee bimaa ta'maloona 'Ale
O you Rasools! Eat from the good things and do righteous deeds, I am Cognizant with what you are doing
Tafseer · verses 50–118وَإِنَّ هَـٰذِهِۦٓ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةً وَٰحِدَةً وَأَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمْ فَٱتَّقُونِ
Wa inna haaziheee ummatukum ummatanw waahidatanw wa Ana Rabbukum fattaqoon
And this community of yours is one community and I am your Lord, so fear Me
Tafseer · verses 50–118فَتَقَطَّعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَهُم بَيْنَهُمْ زُبُرًا ۖ كُلُّ حِزْبٍۭ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُونَ
Fataqatta'ooo amrahum bainahum zuburaa; kullu hizbim bimaa ladaihim farihoon
But they divided their matter between them into sects, each group rejoicing with what was with them
Tafseer · verses 50–118فَذَرْهُمْ فِى غَمْرَتِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
Fazarhum fee ghamratihim hattaa heen
So, leave them in their confusion for a while
Tafseer · verses 50–118أَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّمَا نُمِدُّهُم بِهِۦ مِن مَّالٍ وَبَنِينَ
A-yahsaboona annnamaa numiduhum bihee mimmaalinw wa baneen
Are they reckoning that rather We Extended to them with from wealth and children,
Tafseer · verses 50–118نُسَارِعُ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ ۚ بَل لَّا يَشْعُرُونَ
Nusaari'u lahum fil khairaat; bal laa yash'uroon
We are hastening to them regarding the good things? But, they are not perceiving
Tafseer · verses 50–118إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ هُم مِّنْ خَشْيَةِ رَبِّهِم مُّشْفِقُونَ
Innal lazeena hum min khashyati Rabbihim mushfiqoon
Surely, those who are cautious from fearing their Lord
Tafseer · verses 50–118وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِـَٔايَـٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ
Wallazeena hum bi Aayaati Rabbihim yu'minoon
And those who are believing in the Signs of their Lord
Tafseer · verses 50–118وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِرَبِّهِمْ لَا يُشْرِكُونَ
Wallazeena hum bi Rabbihim laa yushrikoon
And those who are not associating with their Lord
Tafseer · verses 50–118وَٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْتُونَ مَآ ءَاتَوا۟ وَّقُلُوبُهُمْ وَجِلَةٌ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ رَٰجِعُونَ
Wallazeena yu'toona maaa aataw wa quloobuhum wajilatun annahum ilaa Rabbihim raaji'oon
And those are giving what they are giving, and their hearts are fearful that they would be returning to their Lord
Tafseer · verses 50–118أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ يُسَـٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَهُمْ لَهَا سَـٰبِقُونَ
Ulaaa'ika yusaari'oona fil khairaati wa hum lahaa saabiqoon
They are hastening in the good deeds, and they are being foremost to these
Tafseer · verses 50–118وَلَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا ۖ وَلَدَيْنَا كِتَـٰبٌ يَنطِقُ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ
Wa laa nukallifu nafsan illaa wus'ahaa wa ladainaa kitaabuny yantiqu bilhaqqi wa hum la yuzlamoon
And We do not Encumber a soul except to its capacity, and with Us is the Book speaking with the Truth, and they would not be wronged
Tafseer · verses 50–118بَلْ قُلُوبُهُمْ فِى غَمْرَةٍ مِّنْ هَـٰذَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْمَـٰلٌ مِّن دُونِ ذَٰلِكَ هُمْ لَهَا عَـٰمِلُونَ
Bal quloobuhum fee ghamratim min haazaa wa lahum a'maalum min dooni zaalika hum lahaa 'aamiloon
But, their hearts are in confusion from this and for them are deeds from besides that, they are working for these
Tafseer · verses 50–118حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَخَذْنَا مُتْرَفِيهِم بِٱلْعَذَابِ إِذَا هُمْ يَجْـَٔرُونَ
Hattaaa izaaa akhaznaa mutrafeehim bil'azaabi izaa hum yaj'aroon
Until when We Seize their affluent ones with the Punishment, then they are supplicating
Tafseer · verses 50–118لَا تَجْـَٔرُوا۟ ٱلْيَوْمَ ۖ إِنَّكُم مِّنَّا لَا تُنصَرُونَ
Laa taj'arul yawma innakum minnaa laa tunsaroon
Do not supplicate today! You will not be Helped from Us
Tafseer · verses 50–118قَدْ كَانَتْ ءَايَـٰتِى تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنتُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَـٰبِكُمْ تَنكِصُونَ
Qad kaanat Aayaatee tutlaa 'alaikum fakuntum 'alaaa a'qaabikum tankisoon
My Verses had been recited to you, but you were turning back upon your heels
Tafseer · verses 50–118مُسْتَكْبِرِينَ بِهِۦ سَـٰمِرًا تَهْجُرُونَ
Mustakbireena bihee saamiran tahjuroon
Being arrogance with it, telling evil stories at night
Tafseer · verses 50–118أَفَلَمْ يَدَّبَّرُوا۟ ٱلْقَوْلَ أَمْ جَآءَهُم مَّا لَمْ يَأْتِ ءَابَآءَهُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
Afalam yaddabbarrul qawla am jaaa'ahum maa lam yaati aabaaa'ahumul awwaleen
So, are they not pondering on the words, or has there come to them what did not come to their forefathers, the former ones?
Tafseer · verses 50–118أَمْ لَمْ يَعْرِفُوا۟ رَسُولَهُمْ فَهُمْ لَهُۥ مُنكِرُونَ
Am lam ya'rifoo Rasoolahum fahum lahoo munkiroon
Or, are they not recognising their Rasool, so they are in denial to him?
Tafseer · verses 50–118أَمْ يَقُولُونَ بِهِۦ جِنَّةٌۢ ۚ بَلْ جَآءَهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ لِلْحَقِّ كَـٰرِهُونَ
Am yaqooloona bihee jinnnah; bal jaaa'ahum bilhaqqi wa aksaruhum lil haqqi kaarihoon
Or are they saying there is insanity with him? But, he has come with the Truth, and most of them are committing Kufr to the Truth
Tafseer · verses 50–118وَلَوِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلْحَقُّ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ لَفَسَدَتِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهِنَّ ۚ بَلْ أَتَيْنَـٰهُم بِذِكْرِهِمْ فَهُمْ عَن ذِكْرِهِم مُّعْرِضُونَ
Wa lawit taba'al haqqu ahwaaa'ahum lafasadatis samaawaatu wal ardu wa man feehinnn; bal atainaahum bizikrihim fahum 'an zikrihim mu'ridoon
And if the Truth were to follow their whims, the skies and the earth and the ones in these would be corrupted. But, We Came to them with their Zikr, but they were turning aside from their Zikr
Tafseer · verses 50–118أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ خَرْجًا فَخَرَاجُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ ۖ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ
Am tas'aluhum kharjan fakharaaju Rabbika khairunw wa Huwa khairur raaziqeen
Or are you asking them for a tribute? But, the tribute of your Lord is better, and He is the best of the providers
Tafseer · verses 50–118وَإِنَّكَ لَتَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
Wa innaka latad'oohum ilaa Siraatim Mustaqeem
And you are calling them to a Straight Path
Tafseer · verses 50–118وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ عَنِ ٱلصِّرَٰطِ لَنَـٰكِبُونَ
Wa innnal lazeena laa yu'minoona bil Aakhirati 'anis siraati lanaakiboon
And surely those who are not believing in the Hereafter are deviating from the (Straight) Path
Tafseer · verses 50–118۞ وَلَوْ رَحِمْنَـٰهُمْ وَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِم مِّن ضُرٍّ لَّلَجُّوا۟ فِى طُغْيَـٰنِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ
Wa law rahimnaahum wa kashafnaa maa bihim min durril lalajjoo fee tughyaanihim ya'mahoon
And even if We had been Merciful to them and Removed the harm what was with them, they would have still persisted in their transgression wandering blindly
Tafseer · verses 50–118وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَـٰهُم بِٱلْعَذَابِ فَمَا ٱسْتَكَانُوا۟ لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ
Wa laqad akhaznaahum bil'azaabi famastakaanoo li Rabbihim wa maa yatazarra'oon
And We have Seized them with Punishment, and they are not being humble to their Lord and are not submitting
Tafseer · verses 50–118حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَابًا ذَا عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍ إِذَا هُمْ فِيهِ مُبْلِسُونَ
Hattaaa izaa fatahnaa 'alaihim baaban zaa 'azaabin shadeedin izaa hum feehi mublisoon
Until when We Open upon them a Door of severe Punishment, then they are despairing in it
Tafseer · verses 50–118وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنشَأَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَٱلْأَبْصَـٰرَ وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ
Wa Huwal lazeee ansha a-lakumus sam'a wal absaara wal af'idah; qaleelam maa tashkuroon
And He is the One Who Produced for you the hearing, and the sight, and the emotions. Little it is what you are thanking for
Tafseer · verses 50–118وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى ذَرَأَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ
Wa Huwal lazee zara akum fil ardi wa ilaihi tuhsharoon
And is the One Who Multiplied you in the earth, and to Him you will be gathering
Tafseer · verses 50–118وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ وَلَهُ ٱخْتِلَـٰفُ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
Wa Huwal lazee yuhyee wa yumeetu wa lahukh tilaaful laili wannahaar; afalaa ta'qiloon
And is the One Who Gives life and Causes to die, and for him is the interchanging of the night and the day; are you not using your intellects?
Tafseer · verses 50–118بَلْ قَالُوا۟ مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ
Bal qaaloo misla maa qaalal awwaloon
But, they are saying similar to what the formers ones said
Tafseer · verses 50–118قَالُوٓا۟ أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
Qaalooo 'a-izaa mitnaa wa kunnaa turaabanw wa 'izaaman 'a-innaa lamab 'oosoon
They are saying, ‘What! When we are dead and become dust and bones, we would be Resurrected?
Tafseer · verses 50–118لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا نَحْنُ وَءَابَآؤُنَا هَـٰذَا مِن قَبْلُ إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّآ أَسَـٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
Laqad wu'idnaa nahnu wa aabaaa'unaa haazaa min qablu in haazaaa illaaa asaateerul awwaleen
We and our forefathers have been threatened with this from before. Surely these are only the stories of the former ones’
Tafseer · verses 50–118قُل لِّمَنِ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهَآ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
Qul limanil ardu wa man feehaaa in kuntum ta'lamoon
Say: ‘For whom is the earth and the ones there, if you were knowing?’
Tafseer · verses 50–118سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
Sa-yaqooloona lillaah; qul afalaa tazakkkaroon
They will be saying, ‘For Allah’. Say: ‘So why are you not minding?’
Tafseer · verses 50–118قُلْ مَن رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ ٱلسَّبْعِ وَرَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
Qul mar Rabbus samaawaatis sab'i wa Rabbul 'Arshil 'Azeem
Say: ‘Who is Lord of the seven skies and Lord of the Magnificent Throne?’
Tafseer · verses 50–118سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
Sa yaqooloona lillaah; qul afalaa tattaqoon
They will be saying, ‘(This is) Allah's’. Say: ‘So why are you not fearing?’
Tafseer · verses 50–118قُلْ مَنۢ بِيَدِهِۦ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَهُوَ يُجِيرُ وَلَا يُجَارُ عَلَيْهِ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
Qul mam bi yadihee malakootu kulli shai'inw wa Huwa yujeeru wa laa yujaaru 'alaihi in kuntum ta'lamoon
Say: ‘In Whose Hand is the Kingdom of all things, and he Shelters and is not sheltered against, if you were knowing?’
Tafseer · verses 50–118سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ فَأَنَّىٰ تُسْحَرُونَ
Sa yaqooloona lillaah; qul fa annaa tus haroon
They will be saying, ‘(This is) Allah's. Say: ‘So why are you then deluded?’
Tafseer · verses 50–118بَلْ أَتَيْنَـٰهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَـٰذِبُونَ
Bal atainaahum bil haqqi wa innahum lakaaziboon
But, We Came to them the Truth, and they are the liars
Tafseer · verses 50–118مَا ٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّهُ مِن وَلَدٍ وَمَا كَانَ مَعَهُۥ مِنْ إِلَـٰهٍ ۚ إِذًا لَّذَهَبَ كُلُّ إِلَـٰهٍۭ بِمَا خَلَقَ وَلَعَلَا بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ ۚ سُبْحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
Mat takhazal laahu minw waladinw wa maa kaana ma'ahoo min ilaah; izal lazahaba kullu ilaahim bimaa khalaqa wa la'alaa ba'duhum 'alaa ba'd; Subhaannal laahi 'ammaa yasifoon
Allah did not Take a son and there was not god along with Him – then each god would have gone away with what it had created, and some of them would have been higher over the others. Glorious is Allah from what they are ascribing
Tafseer · verses 50–118عَـٰلِمِ ٱلْغَيْبِ وَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ فَتَعَـٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
Aalimil Ghaibi wash shahhaadati fata'aalaa 'ammaa yushrikoon
Knower of the unseen and the seen, so Exalted is He from what they are associating
Tafseer · verses 50–118قُل رَّبِّ إِمَّا تُرِيَنِّى مَا يُوعَدُونَ
Qur Rabbi immmaa turiyannee maa yoo'adoon
Say: ‘Lord! If You Show me what they are being threatened with
Tafseer · verses 50–118رَبِّ فَلَا تَجْعَلْنِى فِى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
Rabbi falaa taj'alnee fil qawmiz zaalimeen
Lord! Then do not Make me to be among the unjust people’
Tafseer · verses 50–118وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّرِيَكَ مَا نَعِدُهُمْ لَقَـٰدِرُونَ
Wa innaa 'alaaa an nuriyaka maa na'iduhum laqaadiroon
And We are well Able to Show you what We are Threatening them with
Tafseer · verses 50–118ٱدْفَعْ بِٱلَّتِى هِىَ أَحْسَنُ ٱلسَّيِّئَةَ ۚ نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَصِفُونَ
Idfa' billate hiya ahsanus saiyi'ah; nahnu a'lamu bimaa yasifoon
Repel the evil by that which is best. We are more Knowing with what they are ascribing
Tafseer · verses 50–118وَقُل رَّبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزَٰتِ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينِ
Wa qur Rabbi a'oozu bika min hamazaatish Shayaateen
And say: ‘Lord! I seek refuge with You from receiving the whispering of the Satans
Tafseer · verses 50–118وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَن يَحْضُرُونِ
Wa a'oozu bika Rabbi ai-yahduroon
And I seek refuge with You, Lord, from their presence
Tafseer · verses 50–118حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَ أَحَدَهُمُ ٱلْمَوْتُ قَالَ رَبِّ ٱرْجِعُونِ
Hattaaa izaa jaaa'a ahada humul mawtu qaala Rabbir ji'oon
Until when the death comes to one of them, he says: ‘Lord! Return me
Tafseer · verses 50–118لَعَلِّىٓ أَعْمَلُ صَـٰلِحًا فِيمَا تَرَكْتُ ۚ كَلَّآ ۚ إِنَّهَا كَلِمَةٌ هُوَ قَآئِلُهَا ۖ وَمِن وَرَآئِهِم بَرْزَخٌ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
La'alleee a'malu saalihan feemaa taraktu kallaa; innahaa kalimatun huwa qaaa'iluhaa wa minw waraaa'ihim barzakhun ilaa Yawmi yub'asoon
Perhaps I may do righteous deeds among what I neglected’. Never! It is merely a word he is saying. And behind them is purgatory up to the Day they would be Resurrected
Tafseer · verses 50–118فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَلَآ أَنسَابَ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَلَا يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
Fa izaa nufikha fis Soori falaaa ansaaba bainahum yawma'izinw wa laa yatasaaa'aloon
So, when it is blown into the Trumpet, then there would be no relationships between them on that Day nor would they be asking about each other
Tafseer · verses 50–118فَمَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ
Faman saqulat mawaazee nuhoo fa ulaaa'ika humul muflihoon
So, ones whose scale is heavy, then those, they would be the successful ones
Tafseer · verses 50–118وَمَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ فِى جَهَنَّمَ خَـٰلِدُونَ
Wa man khaffat mawaa zeenuhoo fa ulaaa'ikal lazeena khasiroo 'anfusahum fee Jahannama khaalidoon
And ones whose scale is light, then those, they would be the ones who incurred losses for themselves. They would be in Hell eternally
Tafseer · verses 50–118تَلْفَحُ وُجُوهَهُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَهُمْ فِيهَا كَـٰلِحُونَ
Talfahu wujoohahumun Naaru wa hum feehaa kaalihoon
The Fire shall scorch their faces, and they shall be aghast therein
Tafseer · verses 50–118أَلَمْ تَكُنْ ءَايَـٰتِى تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ
Alam takun Aayaatee tutlaa 'alaikum fakuntum bihaa tukazziboon
Did not My Verses happen to be recited unto you, but you were belying these?
Tafseer · verses 50–118قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا غَلَبَتْ عَلَيْنَا شِقْوَتُنَا وَكُنَّا قَوْمًا ضَآلِّينَ
Qaaloo Rabbanaa ghalabat 'alainaa shiqwatunaa wa kunnaa qawman Zaaalleen
They shall say, ‘O our Lord! Our wretchedness overcame upon us and we were a straying people’
Tafseer · verses 50–118رَبَّنَآ أَخْرِجْنَا مِنْهَا فَإِنْ عُدْنَا فَإِنَّا ظَـٰلِمُونَ
Rabbanaa akhrijnaa minhaa fa in 'udnaa fa innaa zaalimoon
Our Lord! Extract us from it, then if we were to repeat, so we would be unjust
Tafseer · verses 50–118قَالَ ٱخْسَـُٔوا۟ فِيهَا وَلَا تُكَلِّمُونِ
Qaalakh sa'oo feehaa wa laa tukallimoon
He (Allah-azwj) shall Say: “Go away into it and do not speak to Me!”
Tafseer · verses 50–118إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْ عِبَادِى يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا وَٱرْحَمْنَا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ
Innahoo kaana fareequm min 'ibaadee yaqooloona Rabbanaaa aamannaa faghfir lanaa warhamnaa wa Anta khairur raahimeen
Indeed, there was a group from My servants who said, ‘Our Lord! We believe, therefore Forgive us and have Mercy on us, and You are the best of the merciful ones’
Tafseer · verses 50–118فَٱتَّخَذْتُمُوهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا حَتَّىٰٓ أَنسَوْكُمْ ذِكْرِى وَكُنتُم مِّنْهُمْ تَضْحَكُونَ
Fattakhaztumoohum sikhriyyan hattaaa ansawkum zikree wa kuntum minhum tazhakoon
But you took them for a mockery until it made you forget My Zikr and you used to laugh at them
Tafseer · verses 50–118إِنِّى جَزَيْتُهُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ بِمَا صَبَرُوٓا۟ أَنَّهُمْ هُمُ ٱلْفَآئِزُونَ
Inee jazaituhumul Yawma bimaa sabarooo annahum humul faaa'izoon
Surely, I shall Recompense them today because they were patient, and they are the achievers
Tafseer · verses 50–118قَـٰلَ كَمْ لَبِثْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ عَدَدَ سِنِينَ
Qaala kam labistum fil ardi 'adada sineen
He will Say: “How many number of years did you remain in the earth?”
Tafseer · verses 50–118قَالُوا۟ لَبِثْنَا يَوْمًا أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍ فَسْـَٔلِ ٱلْعَآدِّينَ
Qaaloo labisnaa yawman aw ba'da yawmin fas'alil 'aaaddeen
They will say, ‘We remained for a day or part of a day, so ask those who keep count’
Tafseer · verses 50–118قَـٰلَ إِن لَّبِثْتُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا ۖ لَّوْ أَنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
Qaala il labistum illaa qaleelal law annakum kuntum ta'lamoon
He will Say: “You did not remain except for a little while - had you but known
Tafseer · verses 50–118أَفَحَسِبْتُمْ أَنَّمَا خَلَقْنَـٰكُمْ عَبَثًا وَأَنَّكُمْ إِلَيْنَا لَا تُرْجَعُونَ
Afahasibtum annamaa khalaqnaakum 'abasanw wa annakum ilainaa laa turja'oon
Did you reckon that rather We had Created you in vain and that you would not be returning to Us?”
Tafseer · verses 50–118فَتَعَـٰلَى ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمَلِكُ ٱلْحَقُّ ۖ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْكَرِيمِ
Fata'aalal laahul Malikul Haqq; laaa ilaaha illaa Huwa Rabbul 'Arshil Kareem
Exalted is Allah, the True King. There is no god except Him, Lord of the Honourable Throne
Tafseer · verses 50–118وَمَن يَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ لَا بُرْهَـٰنَ لَهُۥ بِهِۦ فَإِنَّمَا حِسَابُهُۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦٓ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ
Wa mai yad'u ma'allaahi ilaahan aakhara laa burhaana lahoo bihee fa inna maa hisaabuhoo 'inda Rabbih; innahoo laa yuflihul kaafiroon
And one who supplicates to another god along with Allah, there is not proof for him of it, then rather is account is in the Presence of his Lord. Indeed, the Kafirs will not be successful
Tafseer · verses 50–118وَقُل رَّبِّ ٱغْفِرْ وَٱرْحَمْ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ
Wa qul Rabbigh fir warham wa Anta khairur raahimeen
And say: ‘O Lord! Forgive and have Mercy, and You are the best of the Merciful ones!’
Tafseer · verses 50–118
