Haa-Meeem

Ha Meem

وَٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ

Wal Kitaabil Mubeen

I swear by the Clarifying Book

إِنَّا جَعَلْنَـٰهُ قُرْءَٰنًا عَرَبِيًّا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ

Innaa ja'alnaahu Quraanan 'Arabiyyal la'allakum ta'qiloon

We have made it Quran to be in Arabic, perhaps you may use your intellect

وَإِنَّهُۥ فِىٓ أُمِّ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ لَدَيْنَا لَعَلِىٌّ حَكِيمٌ

Wa innahoo feee Ummil Kitaabi Ladainaa la'aliyyun hakeem

And surely, it is in the Mother of the Book with Us, for Ali (is) a Wise (man)

أَفَنَضْرِبُ عَنكُمُ ٱلذِّكْرَ صَفْحًا أَن كُنتُمْ قَوْمًا مُّسْرِفِينَ

Afa nadribu 'ankumuz Zikra safhan an kuntum qawman musrifeen

So, should We Take the Zikr away from you altogether since you were an extravagant people?

وَكَمْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن نَّبِىٍّ فِى ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

Wa kam arsalnaa min Nabiyyin fil awwaleen

And how many a Prophet did We Send among the former ones?

وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن نَّبِىٍّ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ

Wa maa yaateehim min Nabiyyin illaa kaanoo bihee yastahzi'oon

And there did not come to them a Prophet but they mocked with him

فَأَهْلَكْنَآ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُم بَطْشًا وَمَضَىٰ مَثَلُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

Fa ahlaknaaa ashadda minhum batshanw wa madaa masalul awwaleen

So, We Destroyed the ones stronger than them in prowess, and they perished like the former ones

وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ لَيَقُولُنَّ خَلَقَهُنَّ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ

Wa la'in sa altahum man khalaqas samaawaati wal arda la yaqoolunna khalaqa hunnal 'Azeezul 'Aleem

And if you were to ask them: ‘Who Created the skies and the earth?’ They would be saying, ‘The Mighty, the Wise Created these’.

ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ مَهْدًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمْ فِيهَا سُبُلًا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ

Allazee ja'ala lakumul arda mahdanw wa ja'ala lakum feehaa subulan la'allakum tahtadoon

The One Who Made the earth as a resting-place for you, and Made therein ways for you, perhaps you would be Guided

وَٱلَّذِى نَزَّلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۢ بِقَدَرٍ فَأَنشَرْنَا بِهِۦ بَلْدَةً مَّيْتًا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ تُخْرَجُونَ

Wallazee nazzala minas samaaa'i maaa'am biqadarin fa ansharnaa bihee baldatam maitaa' kazaalika tukhrajoon

And the One Who Sends down water from the sky in a measured way, so We Revive a dead land by it. Like that you would be coming out (from your graves)

وَٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلْأَزْوَٰجَ كُلَّهَا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْفُلْكِ وَٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ مَا تَرْكَبُونَ

Wallazee khalaqal azwaaja kullahaa wa ja'ala lakum minal fulki wal-an'aami maa tarkaboon

And the One Who Created the pairs, all of them, and Made for you of the ships and the cattle what you are riding

لِتَسْتَوُۥا۟ عَلَىٰ ظُهُورِهِۦ ثُمَّ تَذْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَةَ رَبِّكُمْ إِذَا ٱسْتَوَيْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ وَتَقُولُوا۟ سُبْحَـٰنَ ٱلَّذِى سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَـٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُۥ مُقْرِنِينَ

Litastawoo 'alaa zuhoorihee summa tazkuroo ni'mata Rabbikum izastawaitum 'alaihi wa taqooloo Subhaanal lazee sakhkhara lana haaza wa maa kunnaa lahoo muqrineen

For you to sit evenly upon their backs. Then remember the Favour of your lord when you are sitting evenly upon it, and you should be saying, ‘Glory be to the One Who Subjugated this one for us, and we were not capable for it

وَإِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا لَمُنقَلِبُونَ

Wa innaaa ilaa Rabbinaa lamunqaliboon

And we would be returning to our Lord’

وَجَعَلُوا۟ لَهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ جُزْءًا ۚ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ لَكَفُورٌ مُّبِينٌ

Wa ja'aloo lahoo min 'ibaadihee juz'aa; innal insaana la kafoorun mubeen

And they are assigning to Him a part from His servant. The human being is clearly ungrateful

أَمِ ٱتَّخَذَ مِمَّا يَخْلُقُ بَنَاتٍ وَأَصْفَىٰكُم بِٱلْبَنِينَ

Amit takhaza mimmaa yakhluqu banaatinw wa asfaakum bilbaneen

Or did He Take daughters from what He Created and Chose sons for you all (instead)?

وَإِذَا بُشِّرَ أَحَدُهُم بِمَا ضَرَبَ لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ مَثَلًا ظَلَّ وَجْهُهُۥ مُسْوَدًّا وَهُوَ كَظِيمٌ

Wa izaa bushshira ahaduhum bimaa daraba lir Rahmaani masalan zalla wajhuhoo muswaddanw wa huwa kazeem

And when one of them is given glad tidings (of a daughter) with what he is striking a likeness for the Beneficent, his face blacken and he is enraged

أَوَمَن يُنَشَّؤُا۟ فِى ٱلْحِلْيَةِ وَهُوَ فِى ٱلْخِصَامِ غَيْرُ مُبِينٍ

Awa mai yunashsha'u fil hilyati wa huwa fil khisaami ghairu mubeen

Or one he manufactures in ornaments (idols) while he is in contention, is without speech

وَجَعَلُوا۟ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عِبَـٰدُ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ إِنَـٰثًا ۚ أَشَهِدُوا۟ خَلْقَهُمْ ۚ سَتُكْتَبُ شَهَـٰدَتُهُمْ وَيُسْـَٔلُونَ

Wa ja'alul malaaa'ikatal lazeena hum 'ibaadur Rahmaani inaasaa; 'a shahidoo khalqahum; satuktabu shahaadatuhum wa yus'aloon

And they are making the Angels, those who are servants of the Beneficent, as daughters. Did they witness their creation? Their testimonies would be recorded and they would be Questioned

وَقَالُوا۟ لَوْ شَآءَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ مَا عَبَدْنَـٰهُم ۗ مَّا لَهُم بِذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ ۖ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَخْرُصُونَ

Wa qaaloo law shaaa'ar Rahmaanu maa 'abadnaahum; maa lahum bizaalika min 'ilmin in hum illaa yakhrusoon

And they say, ‘If the Beneficent had so Desired, we would not have worshipped them’. There is no knowledge of that with them. Surely, they are only guessing

أَمْ ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمْ كِتَـٰبًا مِّن قَبْلِهِۦ فَهُم بِهِۦ مُسْتَمْسِكُونَ

Am aatainaahum Kitaaban min qablihee fahum bihee mustamsikoon

Or did We Give them a Book from before it, so they are adhering with it?

بَلْ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا عَلَىٰٓ أُمَّةٍ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَـٰرِهِم مُّهْتَدُونَ

Bal qaalooo innaa wajadnaaa aabaaa'anaa 'alaaa ummatinw wa innaa 'alaaa aasaarihim muhtadoon

But they are saying, ‘We found our fathers upon a religion, and we are being rightly guided upon their footsteps’

وَكَذَٰلِكَ مَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ فِى قَرْيَةٍ مِّن نَّذِيرٍ إِلَّا قَالَ مُتْرَفُوهَآ إِنَّا وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا عَلَىٰٓ أُمَّةٍ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَـٰرِهِم مُّقْتَدُونَ

Wa kazaalika maaa arsalnaa min qablika fee qaryatim min nazeerin illaa qaala mutrafoohaaa innaa wajadnaaa aabaaa'anaa 'alaaa ummatinw wa innaa 'alaaa aasaarihim muqtadoon

And similar to that, We did not Send any warner into a town before you, except its high ones said, ‘We found our fathers upon a religion, and we are being rightly guided upon their footsteps’

۞ قَـٰلَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكُم بِأَهْدَىٰ مِمَّا وَجَدتُّمْ عَلَيْهِ ءَابَآءَكُمْ ۖ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا بِمَآ أُرْسِلْتُم بِهِۦ كَـٰفِرُونَ

Qaala awa law ji'tukum bi ahdaa mimmaa wajatdtum 'alaihi aabaaa'akum qaalooo innaa bimaaa ursiltum bihee kaafiroon

(The warner) said: ‘Even though if I have come to you with better Guidance than what you found your fathers to be upon?’ They said, ‘We are disbelievers in what you are Sent with’

فَٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ ۖ فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

Fantaqamnaa minhum fanzur kaifa kaana 'aaqibatul mukazzibeen

So, We Took Revenge from them, then look how was the end-result of the beliers

وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَٰهِيمُ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦٓ إِنَّنِى بَرَآءٌ مِّمَّا تَعْبُدُونَ

Wa iz qaala Ibraaheemu liabeehi wa qawmiheee innane baraaa'um mimmaa ta'budoon

And when Ibrahim said to his (adopted) father and his people: ‘Surely I disavow from what you are worshipping

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِى فَطَرَنِى فَإِنَّهُۥ سَيَهْدِينِ

Illal lazee fataranee fa innahoo sa yahdeen

Except the One Who had Originated me, so He would be Guiding me’

وَجَعَلَهَا كَلِمَةًۢ بَاقِيَةً فِى عَقِبِهِۦ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ

Wa ja'alahaa kalimatan baaqiyatan fee 'aqibihee la 'allahum yarji'oon

And He Made it a Word to remain in his posterity, perhaps they would be returning

بَلْ مَتَّعْتُ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ وَءَابَآءَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْحَقُّ وَرَسُولٌ مُّبِينٌ

Bal matta'tu haaa'ulaaa'i wa aabaaa'ahum hattaa jaaa'a humul haqqu wa Rasoolun mubeen

But, they and their fathers enjoyed until there came to them the Truth and a clarifying Rasool

وَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْحَقُّ قَالُوا۟ هَـٰذَا سِحْرٌ وَإِنَّا بِهِۦ كَـٰفِرُونَ

Wa lammaa jaaa'ahumul haqqu qaaloo haazaa sihrunw wa innaa bihee kaafiroon

And when the Truth came to them, they said, ‘This is sorcery! And we are disbelievers in it’

وَقَالُوا۟ لَوْلَا نُزِّلَ هَـٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانُ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٍ مِّنَ ٱلْقَرْيَتَيْنِ عَظِيمٍ

Wa qaaloo law laa nuzzila haazal Quraanu 'alaa rajulin minal qaryataini 'azeem

And they are saying, ‘If only this Quran had been Revealed unto a great man from the two towns’

أَهُمْ يَقْسِمُونَ رَحْمَتَ رَبِّكَ ۚ نَحْنُ قَسَمْنَا بَيْنَهُم مَّعِيشَتَهُمْ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۚ وَرَفَعْنَا بَعْضَهُمْ فَوْقَ بَعْضٍ دَرَجَـٰتٍ لِّيَتَّخِذَ بَعْضُهُم بَعْضًا سُخْرِيًّا ۗ وَرَحْمَتُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ مِّمَّا يَجْمَعُونَ

'A hum yaqsimoona rahmata Rabbik; Nahnu qasamnaa bainahum ma'eeshatahum fil hayaatid dunyaa wa rafa'naa ba'dahum fawqa ba'din darajaatin li yattakhiza ba'duhum ba'dan sukhriyyaa; wa rahmatu Rabbika khairun mimmaa yajma'oon

Are they distributing the Mercy of your Lord? We Distribute their livelihoods between them in the life of the world, and We Raised some of them above the others in rank in order for some of them to take others in subjection, and the mercy of your Lord is better than what they are amassing

وَلَوْلَآ أَن يَكُونَ ٱلنَّاسُ أُمَّةً وَٰحِدَةً لَّجَعَلْنَا لِمَن يَكْفُرُ بِٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ لِبُيُوتِهِمْ سُقُفًا مِّن فِضَّةٍ وَمَعَارِجَ عَلَيْهَا يَظْهَرُونَ

Wa law laaa any yakoonan naasu ummatanw waahidatan laja'alnaa limany yakfuru bir Rahmaani li buyootihim suqufan min fiddatinw wa ma'aarija 'alaihaa yazharoon

And had it not been that the people might become one community, we would have Made for the ones who commit Kufr with the Beneficent to have silver roofs for their houses, and stairs to ascend upon

وَلِبُيُوتِهِمْ أَبْوَٰبًا وَسُرُرًا عَلَيْهَا يَتَّكِـُٔونَ

Wa li buyootihim abwaabanw wa sururan 'alaihaa yattaki'oon

And doors to be for their houses and couches for them to be reclining upon

وَزُخْرُفًا ۚ وَإِن كُلُّ ذَٰلِكَ لَمَّا مَتَـٰعُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۚ وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ

Wa zukhrufaa; wa in kullu zaalika lammaa mataa'ul hayaatid dunyaa; wal aakhiratu 'inda Rabbika lilmuttaqeen

And (other) decorations, and although all of that is for ones who enjoy the life of the world, and the Hereafter in the Presence of your Lord is for the pious ones

وَمَن يَعْشُ عَن ذِكْرِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ نُقَيِّضْ لَهُۥ شَيْطَـٰنًا فَهُوَ لَهُۥ قَرِينٌ

Wa mai ya'shu 'an zikrir Rahmaani nuqaiyid lahoo Shaitaanan fahuwa lahoo qareen

And one who turns away from the Zikr of the Beneficent, We Appoint a Satan for him, so he is paired to him

وَإِنَّهُمْ لَيَصُدُّونَهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّهُم مُّهْتَدُونَ

Wa innahum la yasuddoo nahum 'anis sabeeli wa yahsaboona annahum muhtadoon

And they are preventing from the Way and they are reckoning that they are rightly guided

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَنَا قَالَ يَـٰلَيْتَ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَكَ بُعْدَ ٱلْمَشْرِقَيْنِ فَبِئْسَ ٱلْقَرِينُ

Hattaaa izaa jaaa'anaa qaala yaa laita bainee wa bainaka bu'dal mashriqaini fabi'sal qareen

Until when they both come to Us, he will say, ‘Oh! If only between me and you was the distance of the east and the west!’ So evil is the associate

وَلَن يَنفَعَكُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ إِذ ظَّلَمْتُمْ أَنَّكُمْ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ مُشْتَرِكُونَ

Wa lai yanfa'akumul Yawma iz zalamtum annakum fil 'azaabi mushtarikoon

And it will never profit you today, since you were unjust. You are (now) sharers in the Punishment

أَفَأَنتَ تُسْمِعُ ٱلصُّمَّ أَوْ تَهْدِى ٱلْعُمْىَ وَمَن كَانَ فِى ضَلَـٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ

Afa anta tusmi'us summa aw tahdil 'umya wa man kaana fee dalaalin mubeen

So, can you make the deaf to hear, or guide the blind and the one who was in clear straying?

فَإِمَّا نَذْهَبَنَّ بِكَ فَإِنَّا مِنْهُم مُّنتَقِمُونَ

Fa immaa nazhabanna bika fa innaa minhum muntaqimoon

So, if We were to Take you (Rasool Allah) away, We would still Take Revenge from them (ummah)

أَوْ نُرِيَنَّكَ ٱلَّذِى وَعَدْنَـٰهُمْ فَإِنَّا عَلَيْهِم مُّقْتَدِرُونَ

Aw nuriyannakal lazee wa'adnaahum fa innaa 'alaihim muqtadiroon

Or We will show you that which We Promised them, for We are Powerful upon them

فَٱسْتَمْسِكْ بِٱلَّذِىٓ أُوحِىَ إِلَيْكَ ۖ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ

Fastamsik billazeee oohiya ilaika innaka 'alaa Siraatin Mustaqeem

Therefore, adhere with that which is Revealed unto you, surely you are upon a Straight Path

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَذِكْرٌ لَّكَ وَلِقَوْمِكَ ۖ وَسَوْفَ تُسْـَٔلُونَ

Wa innahoo la zikrun laka wa liqawmika wa sawfa tus'aloon

And it is a Zikr for you and for your people, and soon you shall be Questioned (in the Hereafter from where did you learn)

وَسْـَٔلْ مَنْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ مِن رُّسُلِنَآ أَجَعَلْنَا مِن دُونِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ءَالِهَةً يُعْبَدُونَ

Was'al man arsalnaa min qablika mir Rusulinaaa 'a ja'alnaa min doonir Rahmaani aalihatany yu'badoon

And ask ones We Sent from before you from Our Rasools, did We Make from besides the Beneficent, a God they should be worshipping?

وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦ فَقَالَ إِنِّى رَسُولُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

Wa laqad arsalnaa Moosaa bi aayaatinaaa ilaa Fir'awna wa mala'ihee faqaala innee Rasoolu Rabbil 'aalameen

And We had Sent Musa with Our Signs to Pharaoh and his chiefs, so he said: ‘I am the Rasool of Lord of the Worlds’

فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُم بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ إِذَا هُم مِّنْهَا يَضْحَكُونَ

Falamma jaaa'ahum bi aayaatinaaa izaa hum minhaa yazhakoon

But when he came to them with Our Signs, then they were laughing from these

وَمَا نُرِيهِم مِّنْ ءَايَةٍ إِلَّا هِىَ أَكْبَرُ مِنْ أُخْتِهَا ۖ وَأَخَذْنَـٰهُم بِٱلْعَذَابِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ

Wa maa nureehim min aayatin illaa hiya akbaru min ukhtihaa wa akhaznaahum bil'azaabi la'allahum yarji'oon

And We did not Show them a Sign but it was greater than its counterpart, and We Seized them with the Punishment, perhaps they would return

وَقَالُوا۟ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَ ٱلسَّاحِرُ ٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ بِمَا عَهِدَ عِندَكَ إِنَّنَا لَمُهْتَدُونَ

Wa qaaloo yaaa ayyuhas saahirud'u lanaa Rabbaka bimaa 'ahida 'indaka innanaa lamuhtadoon

And they said, ‘O magician! Supplicate to your Lord for us with what He has Promised (Covenient) with you! Surely, we would (then) be rightly Guided’

فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابَ إِذَا هُمْ يَنكُثُونَ

Falammaa kashafnaa 'anhumul 'azaaba izaa hum yankusoon

But when We Removed the Punishment, they broke (their word)

وَنَادَىٰ فِرْعَوْنُ فِى قَوْمِهِۦ قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ أَلَيْسَ لِى مُلْكُ مِصْرَ وَهَـٰذِهِ ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِىٓ ۖ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ

Wa naadaa Fir'awnu fee qawmihee qaala yaa qawmi alaisa lee mulku Misra wa haazihil anhaaru tajree min tahtee afalaa tubsiroon

And Pharaoh proclaimed among his people. He said, ‘O my people! Isn’t the kingdom of Egypt for me, and (so are) these rivers flowing beneath me, can you not see?

أَمْ أَنَا۠ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِى هُوَ مَهِينٌ وَلَا يَكَادُ يُبِينُ

Am ana khairun min haazal lazee huwa maheenunw wa laa yakaadu yubeen

Am I (Pharaoh) not better than this one (Musa)? He is despicable and can hardly speak clearly

فَلَوْلَآ أُلْقِىَ عَلَيْهِ أَسْوِرَةٌ مِّن ذَهَبٍ أَوْ جَآءَ مَعَهُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ مُقْتَرِنِينَ

Falaw laa ulqiya 'alaihi aswiratun min zahabin aw jaaa'a ma'ahul malaaa'ikatu muqtarineen

But why have not bracelets of gold been put upon him (Musa), or the Angels come along with him (Musa) as companions?

فَٱسْتَخَفَّ قَوْمَهُۥ فَأَطَاعُوهُ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا فَـٰسِقِينَ

Fastakhaffa qawmahoo fa ataa'ooh; innahum kaanoo qawman faasiqeen

Thus, he bluffed his people and they obeyed him. They were a transgressing people

فَلَمَّآ ءَاسَفُونَا ٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ فَأَغْرَقْنَـٰهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

Falammaaa aasafoonan taqamnaa minhum fa aghraqnaahum ajma'een

Then when they Angered Us, We Took Revenge from them, so We Drowned them altogether

فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ سَلَفًا وَمَثَلًا لِّلْـَٔاخِرِينَ

Faja'alnaahum salafanw wa masalan lil aakhireen

And We Made them to be a precedent and an example for the latter ones

۞ وَلَمَّا ضُرِبَ ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ مَثَلًا إِذَا قَوْمُكَ مِنْهُ يَصِدُّونَ

Wa lammaa duribab nu Maryama masalan izaa qawmuka minhu yasiddoon

And when an example is struck for the son of Maryam, then your people are laughing loudly

وَقَالُوٓا۟ ءَأَـٰلِهَتُنَا خَيْرٌ أَمْ هُوَ ۚ مَا ضَرَبُوهُ لَكَ إِلَّا جَدَلًۢا ۚ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ خَصِمُونَ

Wa qaalooo 'a-aalihatunaa khairun am hoo; maa daraboohu laka illaa jadalaa; balhum qawmun khasimoon

And they are saying, ‘Are our gods better or him?’ They are not striking (an example of) him to you except for quarrelling. But, they are a disputing people

إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا عَبْدٌ أَنْعَمْنَا عَلَيْهِ وَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ مَثَلًا لِّبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ

In huwa illaa 'abdun an'amnaa 'alaihi wa ja'alnaahu masalan li Baneee Israaa'eel

Surely, he is only a servant We Favoured upon and We Made him an example for the Children of Israel

وَلَوْ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلْنَا مِنكُم مَّلَـٰٓئِكَةً فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يَخْلُفُونَ

Wa law nashaaa'u laja'alnaa minkum malaaa'ikatan fil ardi yakhlufoon

And had We so Desired, We would have Made from you Angels in the earth succeeding (each other)

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَعِلْمٌ لِّلسَّاعَةِ فَلَا تَمْتَرُنَّ بِهَا وَٱتَّبِعُونِ ۚ هَـٰذَا صِرَٰطٌ مُّسْتَقِيمٌ

Wa innahoo la 'ilmun lis Saa'ati fa laa tamtarunna bihaa wattabi'oon; haazaa Siraatun Mustaqeem

And surely, he has the knowledge of the Hour, therefore do not be doubting with it and follow me. This one is a Straight Path

وَلَا يَصُدَّنَّكُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ مُّبِينٌ

Wa laa yasuddan nakumush Shaitaanu innahoo lakum 'aduwwun mubeen

And do not let the Satan hinder you. He is an open enemy to you all

وَلَمَّا جَآءَ عِيسَىٰ بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ قَالَ قَدْ جِئْتُكُم بِٱلْحِكْمَةِ وَلِأُبَيِّنَ لَكُم بَعْضَ ٱلَّذِى تَخْتَلِفُونَ فِيهِ ۖ فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

Wa lammaa jaaa'a 'Eesaa bilbaiyinaati qaala qad ji'tukum bil Hikmati wa li-ubaiyina lakum ba'dal lazee takhtalifoona feehi fattaqul laaha wa atee'oon

And when Isa came with clear Proofs, he said: ‘I have come to you with the Wisdom and to clarify for you part of which you are differing in, therefore fear Allah and follow me

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ رَبِّى وَرَبُّكُمْ فَٱعْبُدُوهُ ۚ هَـٰذَا صِرَٰطٌ مُّسْتَقِيمٌ

Innal laaha Huwa Rabbee wa Rabbukum fa'budooh; haaza Siraatum Mustaqeem

Surely Allah, He is my Lord and your Lord, therefore worship Him. This is a Straight Path

فَٱخْتَلَفَ ٱلْأَحْزَابُ مِنۢ بَيْنِهِمْ ۖ فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مِنْ عَذَابِ يَوْمٍ أَلِيمٍ

Fakhtalafal ahzaabu min bainihim fa wailun lil lazeena zalamoo min 'azaabi Yawmin aleem

But the parties differed between them, so woe be unto those who are unjust from the painful Punishment on the Day (on Judgment)

هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا ٱلسَّاعَةَ أَن تَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ

Hal yanzuroona illas Saa'ata an ta'tiyahum baghtatanw wa hum laa yash'uroon

Are they awaiting only for the Hour lest it comes to them suddenly while they are not aware?

ٱلْأَخِلَّآءُ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بَعْضُهُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ إِلَّا ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ

Al akhillaaa'u Yawma'izin ba'duhum liba'din 'aduwwun illal muttaqeen

The friends (in the world) on that Day would be enemies of each other, except for the pious

يَـٰعِبَادِ لَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ وَلَآ أَنتُمْ تَحْزَنُونَ

Yaa 'ibaadi laa khawfun 'alaikumul Yawma wa laaa antum tahzanoon

O servants! There would be not fear upon you today nor will you be grieving

ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا وَكَانُوا۟ مُسْلِمِينَ

Allazeena aamanoo bi Aayaatinaa wa kaanoo muslimeen

Those who believed in Our Signs and were submissive,

ٱدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْجَنَّةَ أَنتُمْ وَأَزْوَٰجُكُمْ تُحْبَرُونَ

Udkhulul Jannata antum wa azwaajukum tuhbaroon

Enter the Paradise, you and your wives, (to be) delighted

يُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِصِحَافٍ مِّن ذَهَبٍ وَأَكْوَابٍ ۖ وَفِيهَا مَا تَشْتَهِيهِ ٱلْأَنفُسُ وَتَلَذُّ ٱلْأَعْيُنُ ۖ وَأَنتُمْ فِيهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ

Yutaafu 'alaihim bisihaa fim min zahabinw wa akwaab, wa feehaa maatashtaheehil anfusu wa talazzul a'yunu wa antum feehaa khaalidoon

They shall be sent around to them with golden bowls and mugs, and therein would be what the souls yearn for delights the eyes, and you shall abide therein eternally

وَتِلْكَ ٱلْجَنَّةُ ٱلَّتِىٓ أُورِثْتُمُوهَا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

Wa tilkal jannatul lateee ooristumoohaa bimaa kuntum ta'maloon

And that is the Paradise which you would be deserving/inheriting it due to what you had been doing

لَكُمْ فِيهَا فَـٰكِهَةٌ كَثِيرَةٌ مِّنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ

Wa tilkal jannatul lateee ooristumoohaa bimaa kuntum ta'maloon

For you therein are many fruits of which you would be eating

إِنَّ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ فِى عَذَابِ جَهَنَّمَ خَـٰلِدُونَ

Innal mujrimeena fee 'azaabi jahannama khaalidoon

Surely the criminals would be in Hell, abiding eternally

لَا يُفَتَّرُ عَنْهُمْ وَهُمْ فِيهِ مُبْلِسُونَ

Laa yufattaru 'anhum wa hum feehi mublisoon

It shall not be abated from them and they would be despairing in it

وَمَا ظَلَمْنَـٰهُمْ وَلَـٰكِن كَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

Wa maa zalamnaahum wa laakin kaanoo humuz zaalimeen

And We were not unjust unto them, but they were unjust (to themselves)

وَنَادَوْا۟ يَـٰمَـٰلِكُ لِيَقْضِ عَلَيْنَا رَبُّكَ ۖ قَالَ إِنَّكُم مَّـٰكِثُونَ

Wa naadaw yaa Maaliku liyaqdi 'alainaa Rabbuka qaala innakum maakithoon

And they would call out, ‘O Malik (Angel of keep of Hell)! Let your Lord Decide about us’. He will say: ‘You shall remain!

لَقَدْ جِئْنَـٰكُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَكُمْ لِلْحَقِّ كَـٰرِهُونَ

Laqad ji'naakum bilhaqqi wa laakinna aksarakum lil haqqi kaarihoon

We had come to you with the Truth, but most of you were averse to the Truth

أَمْ أَبْرَمُوٓا۟ أَمْرًا فَإِنَّا مُبْرِمُونَ

Am abramooo amran fainnaa mubrimoon

Or are they (trying to) conclude a matter? But We are the Concluders

أَمْ يَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّا لَا نَسْمَعُ سِرَّهُمْ وَنَجْوَىٰهُم ۚ بَلَىٰ وَرُسُلُنَا لَدَيْهِمْ يَكْتُبُونَ

Am yahsaboona annaa laa nasma'u sirrahum wa najwaahum; balaa wa Rusulunaa ladaihim yaktuboon

Or are they reckoning that We cannot Hear their secrets and their whisperings? Yes! And our Messengers (who are) with them, are recording

قُلْ إِن كَانَ لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ وَلَدٌ فَأَنَا۠ أَوَّلُ ٱلْعَـٰبِدِينَ

Qul in kaana lir Rahmaani walad; fa-ana awwalul 'aabideen

Say (O Rasool): ‘If there were a son for the Beneficent, then I would be the first of the worshippers’

سُبْحَـٰنَ رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَرْشِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ

Subhaana Rabbis samaawaati wal ardi Rabbil Arshi 'ammaa yasifoon

Glorious is the Lord of the skies and the earth, Lord of the Throne, from what they are ascribing

فَذَرْهُمْ يَخُوضُوا۟ وَيَلْعَبُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ يُلَـٰقُوا۟ يَوْمَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى يُوعَدُونَ

Fazarhum yakhoodoo wa yal'aboo hattaa yulaaqoo Yawmahumul lazee yoo'adoon

So, leave them engaging in vanities and playing, until they meet their Day which they are Promised

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ إِلَـٰهٌ وَفِى ٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَـٰهٌ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ

Wa Huwal lazee fissamaaa'i ilaahunw wa fil ardi ilaah; wa Huwal Hakeemul 'Aleem

And He is the One Who is God in the sky and God in the earth, and He is the Wise, the Knowing

وَتَبَارَكَ ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَعِندَهُۥ عِلْمُ ٱلسَّاعَةِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ

Wa tabaarakal lazee lahoo mulkus samaawaati wal ardi wa maa bainahumaa wa 'indahoo 'ilmus Saa'ati wa ilaihi turja'oon

And Blessed is the One for Whom is the kingdom of the skies and the earth and what is between them, and with Him is Knowledge of the Hour, and to Him you will be Returning

وَلَا يَمْلِكُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِ ٱلشَّفَـٰعَةَ إِلَّا مَن شَهِدَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ

Wa laa yamlikul lazeena yad'oona min doonihish shafaa'ata illaa man shahida bilhaqqi wa hum ya'lamoon

And those they are supplicating to from besides Allah cannot control intercession, except one who testifies with the Truth and they know (him)

وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَهُمْ لَيَقُولُنَّ ٱللَّهُ ۖ فَأَنَّىٰ يُؤْفَكُونَ

Wa la'in sa altahum man khalaqahum la yaqoolun nallaahu fa annaa yu'fakoon

And if you were to ask them who created them, they would certainly say, ‘Allah’. Then why are they deluded?

وَقِيلِهِۦ يَـٰرَبِّ إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ قَوْمٌ لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ

Wa qeelihee yaa Rabbi inna haaa'ulaaa'i qawmul laa yu'minoon

And his words: ‘O Lord! Surely they are a people who do not believe!’

فَٱصْفَحْ عَنْهُمْ وَقُلْ سَلَـٰمٌ ۚ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ

Fasfah 'anhum wa qul salaam; fasawfa ya'lamoon

So, pardon them and say: ‘Salam!’, for soon they would come to know
