Qaf

قٓ ۚ وَٱلْقُرْءَانِ ٱلْمَجِيدِ

Qaaaf; wal Qur aanil Majeed

Qaf! By the Glorious Quran

بَلْ عَجِبُوٓا۟ أَن جَآءَهُم مُّنذِرٌ مِّنْهُمْ فَقَالَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ هَـٰذَا شَىْءٌ عَجِيبٌ

Bal 'ajibooo an jaa'ahum munzirum minhum faqaalal kaafiroona haazaa shai'un 'ajeeb

But, they are astounded that a warner from among them has come to them, so the Kafirs said, ‘This is a strange thing!

أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا ۖ ذَٰلِكَ رَجْعٌۢ بَعِيدٌ

'A-izaa mitnaa wa kunnaa turaaban zaalika raj'um ba'eed

What! When we are dead and become dust? That is a far (long way to) return’

قَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا تَنقُصُ ٱلْأَرْضُ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَعِندَنَا كِتَـٰبٌ حَفِيظٌۢ

Qad 'alimnaa maa tanqu-sul-ardu minhum wa 'indanaa Kitaabun Hafeez

We well know how the earth hems them in, and We (also) have a Book to record it

بَلْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِٱلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ فَهُمْ فِىٓ أَمْرٍ مَّرِيجٍ

Bal kazzaboo bilhaqqi lammaa jaaa'ahum fahum feee amrim mareej

Rather they denied the Truth when it came to them, so (now) they are in a confused state

أَفَلَمْ يَنظُرُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَوْقَهُمْ كَيْفَ بَنَيْنَـٰهَا وَزَيَّنَّـٰهَا وَمَا لَهَا مِن فُرُوجٍ

Afalam yanzurooo ilas samaaa'i fawqahum kaifa banainaahaa wa zaiyannaahaa wa maa lahaa min furooj

So, are they not looking at the sky above them, how We Built it and Adorned it, and there are not gaps for it?

وَٱلْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَـٰهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ وَأَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍۭ بَهِيجٍ

Wal arda madadnaahaa wa alqainaa feehaa rawaasiya wa ambatnaa feehaa min kulli zawjim baheej

And We have spread the earth out and cast mountains upon it, and grown every sort of lovely species on it

تَبْصِرَةً وَذِكْرَىٰ لِكُلِّ عَبْدٍ مُّنِيبٍ

Tabsiratanw wa zikraa likulli 'abdim muneeb

An insight and a Zikr for every penitent (repentant) servant

وَنَزَّلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً مُّبَـٰرَكًا فَأَنۢبَتْنَا بِهِۦ جَنَّـٰتٍ وَحَبَّ ٱلْحَصِيدِ

Wa nazzalnaa minas samaaa'i maaa'am mubaarakan fa ambatnaa bihee jannaatinw wa habbal haseed

And We Send down Blessed water from the sky, so We Grow gardens with it and the harvested grain

وَٱلنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَـٰتٍ لَّهَا طَلْعٌ نَّضِيدٌ

Wannakhla baasiqaatil laha tal'un nazeed

And the tall palm trees having bunched clusters

رِّزْقًا لِّلْعِبَادِ ۖ وَأَحْيَيْنَا بِهِۦ بَلْدَةً مَّيْتًا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ ٱلْخُرُوجُ

Rizqal lil'ibaad, wa ahyainaa bihee baldatam maitaa; kazaalikal khurooj

Being a sustenance for the servants. And We Revive a dead land by it. Similar to that would be the coming out (Resurrection)

كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَأَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلرَّسِّ وَثَمُودُ

Kazzabat qablahum qawmu Noohinw wa Ashaabur Rassi wa Samood

They belied before them, the people of Noah, and people of Al-Raas and Samood

وَعَادٌ وَفِرْعَوْنُ وَإِخْوَٰنُ لُوطٍ

Wa 'Aadunw wa Fir'awnu wa ikhwaanu loot

And Aad, and Pharaoh, and brothers of Lut,

وَأَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْأَيْكَةِ وَقَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ ۚ كُلٌّ كَذَّبَ ٱلرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ وَعِيدِ

Wa Ashaabul Aykati wa qawmu Tubba'; kullun kazzabar Rusula fahaqqa wa'eed

And the dwellers of the thicket (Forest), and people of Tuubbee, all belied the Rasools, therefore they were deserving of the Promised (Punishment)

أَفَعَيِينَا بِٱلْخَلْقِ ٱلْأَوَّلِ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ فِى لَبْسٍ مِّنْ خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ

Afa'a yeenaa bilkhalqil awwal; bal hum fee labsim min khalqin jadeed

Were We Fatigued with the first creation? But, they are in doubt of a new creation

وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ وَنَعْلَمُ مَا تُوَسْوِسُ بِهِۦ نَفْسُهُۥ ۖ وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ حَبْلِ ٱلْوَرِيدِ

Wa laqad khalaqnal insaana wa na'lamu maa tuwaswisu bihee nafsuhoo wa Nahnu aqrabu ilaihi min hablil wareed

And We Created the human being, and We know what his mind suggests to his self, and We are nearer to him than his jugular vein

إِذْ يَتَلَقَّى ٱلْمُتَلَقِّيَانِ عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ ٱلشِّمَالِ قَعِيدٌ

'Iz yatalaqqal mutalaqqi yaani 'anil yameeni wa 'anish shimaali qa'eed

When the two receivers receive, seated on the right and on the left

مَّا يَلْفِظُ مِن قَوْلٍ إِلَّا لَدَيْهِ رَقِيبٌ عَتِيدٌ

Maa yalfizu min qawlin illaa ladaihi raqeebun 'ateed

He does not utter a word except by him is an observer, ready

وَجَآءَتْ سَكْرَةُ ٱلْمَوْتِ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ مَا كُنتَ مِنْهُ تَحِيدُ

Wa jaaa'at sakratul mawti bilhaqq; zaalika maa kunta minhu taheed

And the agony of death comes with the Truth. That is what you were fleeing from

وَنُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلْوَعِيدِ

Wa nufikha fis Soor; zaalika yawmul wa'eed

And it shall be blown into the Trumpet ; that is the Promised Day

وَجَآءَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّعَهَا سَآئِقٌ وَشَهِيدٌ

Wa jaaa'at kullu nafsim ma'ahaa saaa'iqunw wa shaheed

And every soul will come, with it would be an usher and a witness

لَّقَدْ كُنتَ فِى غَفْلَةٍ مِّنْ هَـٰذَا فَكَشَفْنَا عَنكَ غِطَآءَكَ فَبَصَرُكَ ٱلْيَوْمَ حَدِيدٌ

Laqad kunta fee ghaf latim min haazaa fakashafnaa 'anka ghitaaa'aka fabasarukal yawma hadeed

You had been in heedlessness from this, then We Removed your veil from you, so today your vision is sharp

وَقَالَ قَرِينُهُۥ هَـٰذَا مَا لَدَىَّ عَتِيدٌ

Wa qaala qareenuhoo haazaa maa ladaiya 'ateed

And his paired one (Angel) shall say, ‘This is (a record) what is ready with me!’

أَلْقِيَا فِى جَهَنَّمَ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ

Alqiyaa fee Jahannama kulla kaffaarin 'aneed

Both (of you -Rasool Allah and Ali Amir ul Momineen), throw into Hell every stubborn Kafir!

مَّنَّاعٍ لِّلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍ مُّرِيبٍ

Mannaa'il lilkhayri mu'tadim mureeb

A Preventer of the good, a transgressor, a doubter

ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَأَلْقِيَاهُ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلشَّدِيدِ

Allazee ja'ala ma'al laahi ilaahan aakhara fa alqiyaahu fil'azaabish shadeed

The one who Makes another god to be with Allah, therefore both of you, throw him into the severe Punishment!

۞ قَالَ قَرِينُهُۥ رَبَّنَا مَآ أَطْغَيْتُهُۥ وَلَـٰكِن كَانَ فِى ضَلَـٰلٍۭ بَعِيدٍ

Qaala qareenuhoo Rabbanaa maaa atghaituhoo wa laakin kaana fee dalaalin ba'eed

His paired one will say, ‘Our Lord! I did not make him transgress, but he was in a far straying’

قَالَ لَا تَخْتَصِمُوا۟ لَدَىَّ وَقَدْ قَدَّمْتُ إِلَيْكُم بِٱلْوَعِيدِ

Qaala laa takhtasimoo ladaayya wa qad qaddamtu ilaikum bilwa'eed

He (Allah) will Say: “Do not quarrel in My Presence, and I had Sent the Threat forward to you

مَا يُبَدَّلُ ٱلْقَوْلُ لَدَىَّ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِظَلَّـٰمٍ لِّلْعَبِيدِ

Maa yubaddalul qawlu ladaiya wa maaa ana bizal laamil lil'abeed

My (Allah’s) Word will not change in My Presence, and I (Allah) am not the least unjust to the servants!”

يَوْمَ نَقُولُ لِجَهَنَّمَ هَلِ ٱمْتَلَأْتِ وَتَقُولُ هَلْ مِن مَّزِيدٍ

Yawma naqoolu li'jahannama halim talaati wa taqoolu hal mim mazeed

On the Day that We will say to Hell: “Are you filled up?” And it will say: ‘Are there any more?’

وَأُزْلِفَتِ ٱلْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍ

Wa uzlifatil jannatu lil muttaqeena ghaira ba'eed

And the Paradise would be decorated for the pious, not being remote

هَـٰذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِكُلِّ أَوَّابٍ حَفِيظٍ

Haaza maa too'adoona likulli awwaabin hafeez

This is what you had been Promised – for every penitent one, preserving (the Limits)

مَّنْ خَشِىَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنَ بِٱلْغَيْبِ وَجَآءَ بِقَلْبٍ مُّنِيبٍ

Man khashiyar Rahmaana bilghaibi wa jaaa'a biqalbim muneeb

Who fears the Beneficent in private and comes with a penitent heart

ٱدْخُلُوهَا بِسَلَـٰمٍ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلْخُلُودِ

Udkhuloohaa bisalaamin zaalika yawmul khulood

“Enter it in peace!” That would be the Day of eternal abiding

لَهُم مَّا يَشَآءُونَ فِيهَا وَلَدَيْنَا مَزِيدٌ

Lahum maa yashaaa'oona feehaa wa ladainaa mazeed

For them would be whatever they so desire therein, and with Us would be more yet

وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُم بَطْشًا فَنَقَّبُوا۟ فِى ٱلْبِلَـٰدِ هَلْ مِن مَّحِيصٍ

Wa kam ahlaknaa qablahum min qarnin hum ashaddu minhum batshan fanaqqaboo fil bilaad, hal mim mahees

And how many a generation did We Destroy before them who were mightier in prowess than they are, so they went about in the countries. Is there any escape?

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَذِكْرَىٰ لِمَن كَانَ لَهُۥ قَلْبٌ أَوْ أَلْقَى ٱلسَّمْعَ وَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ

Inna fee zaalika lazikraa liman kaana lahoo qalbun aw alqas sam'a wa huwa shaheed

Surely, there is a Zikr in that for one who has a heart for him, or casts the hearing, and he is a witness

وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ وَمَا مَسَّنَا مِن لُّغُوبٍ

Wa laqad khalaqnas samaawaati wal arda wa maa bainahumaa fee sittati ayyaamin wa maa massanaa mil lughoob

And We have Created the skies and the earth and what is between the two in six days and there did not touch Us not any fatigue

فَٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ ٱلشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ ٱلْغُرُوبِ

Fasbir 'alaa maa yaqooloona wa sabbih bihamdi Rabbika qabla tuloo'ish shamsi wa qablal ghuroob

Therefore, be patient upon what they are saying, and Glorify with Praise of your Lord before emergence of the sun and before the setting

وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَأَدْبَـٰرَ ٱلسُّجُودِ

Wa minal laili fasabbih hu wa adbaaras sujood

And from the night, so Glorify Him, and (also) after the (Prescribed) Sajdahs

وَٱسْتَمِعْ يَوْمَ يُنَادِ ٱلْمُنَادِ مِن مَّكَانٍ قَرِيبٍ

Wastami' yawma yunaa dil munaadi mim makaanin qareeb

And listen intently on the Day when the Caller will Call out from a near place

يَوْمَ يَسْمَعُونَ ٱلصَّيْحَةَ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلْخُرُوجِ

Yawma yasmaoonas sai hata bilhaqq zaalika yawmul khurooj

A Day they would be hearing the Scream with the Truth, that would be the Day of coming forth

إِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْىِۦ وَنُمِيتُ وَإِلَيْنَا ٱلْمَصِيرُ

Innaa Nahnu nuhyee wa numeetu wa ilainal maseer

Surely, We Cause to live and We Cause to die, and to Us is the destination

يَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ ٱلْأَرْضُ عَنْهُمْ سِرَاعًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ حَشْرٌ عَلَيْنَا يَسِيرٌ

Yawma tashaqqaqul ardu 'anhum siraa'aa; zaalika hashrun 'alainaa yaseer

A Day the earth would cleave asunder from them quickly, that Gathering is easy unto Us

نَّحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ ۖ وَمَآ أَنتَ عَلَيْهِم بِجَبَّارٍ ۖ فَذَكِّرْ بِٱلْقُرْءَانِ مَن يَخَافُ وَعِيدِ

Nahnu a'lamu bimaa yaqooloona wa maaa anta 'alaihim bijabbaarin fazakkir bil quraani many yakhaafu wa'eed

We are more Knowing of what they are saying, and you are not a compeller upon them, therefore remind by the Quran one who fears a Threat
