Alif Lam Meem Suad

كِتَـٰبٌ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ فَلَا يَكُن فِى صَدْرِكَ حَرَجٌ مِّنْهُ لِتُنذِرَ بِهِۦ وَذِكْرَىٰ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Kitaabun unzila ilaika falaa yakun fee sadrika harajum minhu litunzira bihee wa zikraa lilmu'mineen

A Book Revealed to you, so there should not happen to be any uneasiness in your chest from it in order to warn with it, and a reminder for the Momineen

ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ مَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُم مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ أَوْلِيَآءَ ۗ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ

Ittabi'oo maaa unzila 'ilaikum mir Rabbikum wa laa tattabi'oo min dooniheee awliyaaa'a; qaleelam maa tazakkaroon

Follow what is Revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow guardians from the ones besides Him. Little is what you are recalling

وَكَم مِّن قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَـٰهَا فَجَآءَهَا بَأْسُنَا بَيَـٰتًا أَوْ هُمْ قَآئِلُونَ

Wa kam min qaryatin ahlaknaahaa fajaaa'ahaa ba'sunaa bayaatan aw hum qaaa'iloon

And how many a town We Destroyed, so Our Torment came to it overnight or while they were sleeping at midday

فَمَا كَانَ دَعْوَىٰهُمْ إِذْ جَآءَهُم بَأْسُنَآ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِينَ

Famaa kaana da'waahum iz jaaa'ahum ba'sunaa illaaa an qaalooo innaa kunnaa zaalimeen

It was not their call, when there came to them Our Torment, except that they were saying, ‘We were unjust’

فَلَنَسْـَٔلَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَنَسْـَٔلَنَّ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

Falanas 'alannal lazeena ursila ilaihim wa lanas 'alannal mursaleen

We will Question those to whom (Rasools) were Sent to them and We will Question the Rasools (about them)

فَلَنَقُصَّنَّ عَلَيْهِم بِعِلْمٍ ۖ وَمَا كُنَّا غَآئِبِينَ

Falanaqussanna 'alaihim bi'ilminw wa maa kunnaa ghaaa'ibeen

Then We will Relate to them with Knowledge, and We were not absent

وَٱلْوَزْنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْحَقُّ ۚ فَمَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ

Walwaznu Yawma'izinil haqq; faman saqulat mawaa zeenuhoo fa-ulaaa'ika humul muflihoon

And the weighing on that Day would be the Truth. So the one whose scale would be heavy, then those, they would be the successful ones

وَمَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا يَظْلِمُونَ

Wa man khaffat mawaazeenuhoo fa ulaaa'ikal lazeena khasirooo anfusahum bimaa kaanoo bi Aayaatinaa yazlimoon

And the one whose scale would be light, so they are those who would have incurred losses upon themselves due to their being unjust to Our Signs

وَلَقَدْ مَكَّنَّـٰكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَجَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِيهَا مَعَـٰيِشَ ۗ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ

Wa laqad makkannaakum fil ardi wa ja'alnaa lakum feehaa ma'aayish; qaleelam maa tashkuroon

And We have Enabled you in the earth and We Made livelihood for you therein. very few are thankful

وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَـٰكُمْ ثُمَّ صَوَّرْنَـٰكُمْ ثُمَّ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ ٱسْجُدُوا۟ لِـَٔادَمَ فَسَجَدُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ إِبْلِيسَ لَمْ يَكُن مِّنَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ

Wa laqad khalaqnaakum summa sawwarnaakum summa qulnaa lilmalaaa'ikatis judoo li Aadama fa-sajadooo illaaa Ibleesa lam yakum minas saajideen

And We Created you, then We Shaped you, then We Said to the Angels: “Perform Sajdah to Adam”. So they performed Sajdah except Iblees; he did not happen to be from the prostrators

قَالَ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَلَّا تَسْجُدَ إِذْ أَمَرْتُكَ ۖ قَالَ أَنَا۠ خَيْرٌ مِّنْهُ خَلَقْتَنِى مِن نَّارٍ وَخَلَقْتَهُۥ مِن طِينٍ

Qaala maa mana'aka allaa tasjuda iz amartuka qaala ana khairum minhu khalaqtanee min naarinw wa khalaqtahoo min teen

(Allah) Said: “What prevented you to perform Sajdah when I Commanded you?” He (Iblees) said, ‘I am better than him. You Created me from fire and Created him from clay’

قَالَ فَٱهْبِطْ مِنْهَا فَمَا يَكُونُ لَكَ أَن تَتَكَبَّرَ فِيهَا فَٱخْرُجْ إِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰغِرِينَ

Qaala fahbit minhaa famaa yakoonu laka an tatakabbara feehaa fakhruj innaka minas saaghireen

(Allah) Said: “Then get down from it, and there would not happen to be for that you be arrogant therein. Therefore, get out, for you are from the belittled ones”

قَالَ أَنظِرْنِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ

Qaala anzirneee ilaa Yawmi yub'asoon

He said, ‘Respite me to the Day they would be Resurrected’

قَالَ إِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنظَرِينَ

Qaala innaka minal munzareen

He said: “You are from the Respited ones”

قَالَ فَبِمَآ أَغْوَيْتَنِى لَأَقْعُدَنَّ لَهُمْ صِرَٰطَكَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ

Qaala fabimaaa aghway tanee la aq'udanna lahum Siraatakal Mustaqeem

He said, ‘So, due to Your Deviating me, I will sit (in ambush) for them on Your Straight Path

ثُمَّ لَـَٔاتِيَنَّهُم مِّنۢ بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ وَعَنْ أَيْمَـٰنِهِمْ وَعَن شَمَآئِلِهِمْ ۖ وَلَا تَجِدُ أَكْثَرَهُمْ شَـٰكِرِينَ

Summa la aatiyannahum mim baini aideehim wa min khalfihim wa 'an aimaanihim wa 'an shamaaa'ilihim wa laa tajidu aksarahum shaakireen

Then I will come to them from their front, and from their back, and on their right, and on their left, and You will not Find most of them as thankful ones’

قَالَ ٱخْرُجْ مِنْهَا مَذْءُومًا مَّدْحُورًا ۖ لَّمَن تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

Qaalakhruj minhaa maz'oomam madhooraa; laman tabi'aka minhum la amla'anna Jahannama minkum ajma'een

He said: “Get out from it, disgraced, expelled! As for the ones from them who follow you, I will Fill Hell from you altogether”

وَيَـٰٓـَٔادَمُ ٱسْكُنْ أَنتَ وَزَوْجُكَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ فَكُلَا مِنْ حَيْثُ شِئْتُمَا وَلَا تَقْرَبَا هَـٰذِهِ ٱلشَّجَرَةَ فَتَكُونَا مِنَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

Wa yaaa Aadamus kun anta wa zawjukal Jannata fakulaa min haisu shi'tumaa wa laa taqrabaa haazihish shajarata fatakoonaa minaz zaalimeen

And (We said): “O Adam! You and your wife dwell in the Garden. You can both eat from wherever you so desire to, and do not go near this tree for you will both become from the unjust ones”

فَوَسْوَسَ لَهُمَا ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ لِيُبْدِىَ لَهُمَا مَا وُۥرِىَ عَنْهُمَا مِن سَوْءَٰتِهِمَا وَقَالَ مَا نَهَىٰكُمَا رَبُّكُمَا عَنْ هَـٰذِهِ ٱلشَّجَرَةِ إِلَّآ أَن تَكُونَا مَلَكَيْنِ أَوْ تَكُونَا مِنَ ٱلْخَـٰلِدِينَ

Fawaswasa lahumash Shaitaanu liyubdiya lahumaa maa wooriya 'anhumaa min saw aatihimaa wa qaala maa nahaakumaa Rabbukumaa 'an haazihish shajarati illaaa an takoonaa malakaini aw takoonaa minal khaalideen

But the Satan suggested to them to manifest to them what was hidden from them from their evil, and said, ‘Your Lord did not Forbid you from this tree except that you would become two Angels or you would become from eternally living ones’

وَقَاسَمَهُمَآ إِنِّى لَكُمَا لَمِنَ ٱلنَّـٰصِحِينَ

Wa qaasamahumaaa innee lakumaa laminan naasiheen

And he swore to them both, ‘I am from the advisers to you’

فَدَلَّىٰهُمَا بِغُرُورٍ ۚ فَلَمَّا ذَاقَا ٱلشَّجَرَةَ بَدَتْ لَهُمَا سَوْءَٰتُهُمَا وَطَفِقَا يَخْصِفَانِ عَلَيْهِمَا مِن وَرَقِ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ۖ وَنَادَىٰهُمَا رَبُّهُمَآ أَلَمْ أَنْهَكُمَا عَن تِلْكُمَا ٱلشَّجَرَةِ وَأَقُل لَّكُمَآ إِنَّ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَ لَكُمَا عَدُوٌّ مُّبِينٌ

Fadallaahumaa bighuroor; falammaa zaaqash shajarata badat lahumaa saw aatuhumaa wa tafiqaa yakhsifaani 'alaihimaa minw waraqil jannati wa naadaahumaa Rabbuhumaaa alam anhakumaa 'an tilkumash shajarati wa aqul lakumaaa innash Shaitaana lakumaa 'aduwwum mubeen

Thus, he indicated to them with deceit. So when they had tasted the tree, their evil inclinations appeared to them and they both began to cover upon themselves from the leaves of the Garden, and their Lord Called out to them: “Did I not Forbid you two from that tree and Said to you that the Satan is your open enemy?”

قَالَا رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَآ أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْخَـٰسِرِينَ

Qaalaa Rabbanaa zalamnaaa anfusanaa wa illam taghfir lanaa wa tarhamnaa lanakoonanna minal khaasireen

They said: ‘Our Lord! We wronged ourselves, and if You do not Forgive us and have Mercy on us, we would become from the losers’

قَالَ ٱهْبِطُوا۟ بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ ۖ وَلَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُسْتَقَرٌّ وَمَتَـٰعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ

Qaalah bitoo ba'dukum liba'din aduwwunw wa lakum fil ardi mustaqarrunw wa mataa'un ilaaheen

He said: “Get down, some of you being the enemies of others, and for you in the earth, there is an abode and a provision to a time

قَالَ فِيهَا تَحْيَوْنَ وَفِيهَا تَمُوتُونَ وَمِنْهَا تُخْرَجُونَ

Qaala feehaa tahyawna wa feehaa tamootoona wa minhaa tukhrajoon

He said: “Therein you shall be living and therein you shall be dying, and from it you shall be coming out

يَـٰبَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ قَدْ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكُمْ لِبَاسًا يُوَٰرِى سَوْءَٰتِكُمْ وَرِيشًا ۖ وَلِبَاسُ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ ءَايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ

Yaa Baneee Aadama qad anzalnaa 'alaikum libaasany yuwaaree saw aatikum wa reeshanw wa libaasut taqwaa zaalika khair; zaalika min Aayaatil laahi la'allahum yaz zakkaroon

O children of Adam! We have Sent down to you clothing to cover your evil and (for) appearance, and the clothing of piety, that is better. That is from the Signs of Allah, perhaps they would be mindful

يَـٰبَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ لَا يَفْتِنَنَّكُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ كَمَآ أَخْرَجَ أَبَوَيْكُم مِّنَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ يَنزِعُ عَنْهُمَا لِبَاسَهُمَا لِيُرِيَهُمَا سَوْءَٰتِهِمَآ ۗ إِنَّهُۥ يَرَىٰكُمْ هُوَ وَقَبِيلُهُۥ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا تَرَوْنَهُمْ ۗ إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينَ أَوْلِيَآءَ لِلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ

Yaa Banee Aadama laa yaftinannnakumush Shaitaanu kamaaa akhraja abawaikum minal Jannati yanzi'u 'anhumaa libaasahumaa liyuriyahumaa saw aatihimaaa; innahoo yaraakum huwa wa qabeeluhoo min haisu laa tarawnahum; innaa ja'alnash Shayaateena awliyaaa'a lillazeena laa yu'minoon

O children of Adam! Do not let the satan tempt you just as he got your parents exited from the Garden, snatching their clothes from them in order to show them their evil. He can see you, him and his tribe, from where you cannot see them. We Made the satans to be friends of those who do not believe

وَإِذَا فَعَلُوا۟ فَـٰحِشَةً قَالُوا۟ وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهَآ ءَابَآءَنَا وَٱللَّهُ أَمَرَنَا بِهَا ۗ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَأْمُرُ بِٱلْفَحْشَآءِ ۖ أَتَقُولُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

Wa izaa fa'aloo faahishatan qaaloo wajadnaa 'alaihaaa aabaaa'ana wallaahu amaranaa bihaa; qul innal laaha laa ya'muru bilfahshaaa'i a-taqooloona 'alal laahi maa laa ta'lamoon

And when they are committing an immorality, they are saying, ‘We found our fathers being upon it, and Allah Commanded us with it’. Say: ‘Surely Allah does not Command with the immoralities. Are you saying upon Allah what you do not know?

قُلْ أَمَرَ رَبِّى بِٱلْقِسْطِ ۖ وَأَقِيمُوا۟ وُجُوهَكُمْ عِندَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍ وَٱدْعُوهُ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ ۚ كَمَا بَدَأَكُمْ تَعُودُونَ

Qul amara Rabbee bilqisti wa aqeemoo wujoohakum 'inda kulli masjidin wad'oohu mukhliseena lahud deen; kamaa bada akum ta'oodoon

Say: ‘My Lord Commands with the justice, and straighten your faces at every Masjid and supplicate to Him being sincere to Him of the Religion. Just as He Originated you all, (so) you would be returning

فَرِيقًا هَدَىٰ وَفَرِيقًا حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلضَّلَـٰلَةُ ۗ إِنَّهُمُ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينَ أَوْلِيَآءَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّهُم مُّهْتَدُونَ

Fareeqan hadaa wa fareeqan haqqa 'alaihimud dalaalah; innahumut takhazush Shayaateena awliyaaa'a min doonil laahi wa yahsaboona annahum muhtadoon

A group is Guided and a group, the straying is deserved upon them. They are taking the satans as friends from besides Allah and are reckoning that they are rightly Guided ones

۞ يَـٰبَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ خُذُوا۟ زِينَتَكُمْ عِندَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍ وَكُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ وَلَا تُسْرِفُوٓا۟ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ

Yaa Banneee Adama khuzoo zeenatakum 'inda kulli masjidinw wa kuloo washraboo wa laa tusrifoo; innahoo laa yuhibbul musrifeen

O Children of Adam! Take to your adornments at every Masjid, and eat and drink and do not be extravagant; surely He does not Love the extravagant ones

قُلْ مَنْ حَرَّمَ زِينَةَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَخْرَجَ لِعِبَادِهِۦ وَٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِ مِنَ ٱلرِّزْقِ ۚ قُلْ هِىَ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا خَالِصَةً يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۗ كَذَٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ

Qul man harrama zeenat Allahil lateee akhraja li'ibaadihee wattaiyibaati minar rizq; qul hiya lillazeena aamanoo fil hayaatid dunyaa khaalisatany Yawmal Qiyaamah; kazaalika nufassilul Aayaati li qawminy ya'lamoon

Say: ‘Who prohibited adornments of Allah which He Brought out for His servants, and the good from the sustenance?’ Say: ‘These would be for those who believe sincerely in the life of the world, on the Day of Judgment. Like that We Detail the Signs for a people who know’

قُلْ إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ رَبِّىَ ٱلْفَوَٰحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ وَٱلْإِثْمَ وَٱلْبَغْىَ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ وَأَن تُشْرِكُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِۦ سُلْطَـٰنًا وَأَن تَقُولُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

Qul innamaa harrama Rabbiyal fawaahisha maa zahara minhaa wa maa batana wal isma walbaghya bighairil haqqi wa an tushrikoo billaahi maa lam yunazzil bihee sultaananw wa an taqooloo 'alal laahi maa laa ta'lamoon

Say: ‘But rather, My Lord Prohibited the immoralities, whatever is apparent from these and whatever is hidden, and the sin, and the rebellion without the right, and that you associate with Allah what He did not Send down an Authorisation for, and that you say upon Allah what you don’t know’

وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلٌ ۖ فَإِذَا جَآءَ أَجَلُهُمْ لَا يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ سَاعَةً ۖ وَلَا يَسْتَقْدِمُونَ

Wa likulli ummatin ajalun fa izaa jaaa'a ajaluhum laa yasta' khiroona saa'atanw wa laa yastaqdimoon

And for every community there is a term. So when their term comes, they can neither delay it for a moment, nor can they bring it forward

يَـٰبَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ إِمَّا يَأْتِيَنَّكُمْ رُسُلٌ مِّنكُمْ يَقُصُّونَ عَلَيْكُمْ ءَايَـٰتِى ۙ فَمَنِ ٱتَّقَىٰ وَأَصْلَحَ فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ

Yaa Banee Aadama immaa ya'tiyannakum Rusulum minkum yaqussoona 'alaikum Aayaatee famanit taqaa wa aslaha falaa khawfun 'alaihim wa laa hum yahzanoon

O children of Adam! Did there not come to you Rasools from you relating My Signs to you? So the ones who fear and amend, there would neither be fear upon them nor would they be grieving

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ عَنْهَآ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ

Wallazeena kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa wastakbaroo 'an haaa ulaaa'ika Ashaabun naari hum feehaa khaalidoon

And those who are belying Our Signs and are being arrogant about these, they are the inmates of the Fire; they would be in it eternally

فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِـَٔايَـٰتِهِۦٓ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ يَنَالُهُمْ نَصِيبُهُم مِّنَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ۖ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُنَا يَتَوَفَّوْنَهُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ قَالُوا۟ ضَلُّوا۟ عَنَّا وَشَهِدُوا۟ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ كَـٰفِرِينَ

Faman azlamu mimmanif taraa 'alal laahi kaziban aw kazzaba bi Aayaatih; ulaaa'ika yanaaluhum naseebuhum minal Kitaab; hatta izaa jaaa'at hum rusulunaa yatawaf fawnahum qaalooo aina maa kuntum tad'oonaa min doonil laahi qaaloo dalloo 'annaa wa shahidoo 'alaaa anfusihim annahum kaanoo kaafireen

So, who is more unjust than the one who fabricates a lie upon Allah or belies His Signs? To them their share from the Book would reach them, until when Our messengers come to them causing them to die, they shall say, ‘What were you calling upon from besides Allah?’ They would say, ‘They are lost from us’, and they would be testifying against their own selves that they were Kafirs

قَالَ ٱدْخُلُوا۟ فِىٓ أُمَمٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ فِى ٱلنَّارِ ۖ كُلَّمَا دَخَلَتْ أُمَّةٌ لَّعَنَتْ أُخْتَهَا ۖ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا ٱدَّارَكُوا۟ فِيهَا جَمِيعًا قَالَتْ أُخْرَىٰهُمْ لِأُولَىٰهُمْ رَبَّنَا هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ أَضَلُّونَا فَـَٔاتِهِمْ عَذَابًا ضِعْفًا مِّنَ ٱلنَّارِ ۖ قَالَ لِكُلٍّ ضِعْفٌ وَلَـٰكِن لَّا تَعْلَمُونَ

Qaalad khuloo feee umamin qad khalat min qablikum minal jinni wal insi fin naari kullamaa dakhalat ummatul la'anat ukhtahaa hattaaa izad daarakoo feehaa jamee'an qaalat ukhraahum li oolaahum Rabbannaa haaa u'laaa'i adalloonaa fa aatihim 'azaaban di'fam minan naari qaala likullin di'funw wa laakil laa ta'lamoon

He will say: “Enter (to be) among the communities who had passed away from before you, from the Jinn and the humans, in the Fire!” Every time a community enters, its sister (community) would curse it, until when they come across each other altogether in it, their last ones would say for their first ones, ‘Our Lord! They strayed us, so Given them a double Punishment from the Fire’. He will Say: “For all would be double (the Punishment), but you are not knowing”

وَقَالَتْ أُولَىٰهُمْ لِأُخْرَىٰهُمْ فَمَا كَانَ لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا مِن فَضْلٍ فَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْسِبُونَ

Wa qaalat oolaahum li ukhraahum famaa kaana lakum 'alainaa min fadlin fazooqul azaaba bimaa kuntum taksiboon

And the foremost of them will say to the last of them: ‘So you have no preference over us; therefore taste the Punishment for what you earned’

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ عَنْهَا لَا تُفَتَّحُ لَهُمْ أَبْوَٰبُ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَلَا يَدْخُلُونَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ حَتَّىٰ يَلِجَ ٱلْجَمَلُ فِى سَمِّ ٱلْخِيَاطِ ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ

Innal lazeena kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa wastakbaroo 'anhaa laa tufattahu lahum abwaabus samaaa'i wa laa yadkhuloonal jannata hattaa yalijal jamalu fee sammil khiyaat; wa kazaalika najzil mujrimeen

Surely, those who are belying Our Signs and are being arrogant about it, the doors of the sky would not be Opened for them nor would they be entering the Paradise until the camel penetrates the eye of the needle; and like that We Recompense the criminals

لَهُم مِّن جَهَنَّمَ مِهَادٌ وَمِن فَوْقِهِمْ غَوَاشٍ ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

Lahum min jahannama mihaadunw wa min fawqihim ghawaash; wa kazaalika najziz zaalimeen

For them would be a plain of Hell, and from above them would be coverings (of fire); and like that We Recompense the unjust ones

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَآ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ

Wallazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati laa nukallifu nafsan illaa wus'ahaaa ulaaa'ika Ashaabul jannati hum feehaa khaalidoon

And (as for) those who are believing and doing righteous deeds, We do not Encumber a soul except to its capacity – they are the dwellers of the Paradise, they would be therein eternally

وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِى صُدُورِهِم مِّنْ غِلٍّ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهِمُ ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ ۖ وَقَالُوا۟ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى هَدَىٰنَا لِهَـٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لِنَهْتَدِىَ لَوْلَآ أَنْ هَدَىٰنَا ٱللَّهُ ۖ لَقَدْ جَآءَتْ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ ۖ وَنُودُوٓا۟ أَن تِلْكُمُ ٱلْجَنَّةُ أُورِثْتُمُوهَا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

Wa naza'naa maa fee sudoorihim min ghillin tajree min tahtihimul anhaaru wa qaalul hamdu lillaahil lazee hadaanaa lihaaza wa maa kunna linahtadiya law laaa ann hadaanal laahu laqad jaaa'at Rusulu Rabbinaa bilhaqq; wa noodoo an tilkumul jannnatu ooristumoohaa bimaa kuntum ta'maloon

And We will Remove whatever malice is in their chests; the rivers shall flow beneath them and they would be saying, ‘The Praise is for Allah Who Guided us to this, and we would not have been rightly Guided if Allah had not Guided us. Rasools of our Lord had come with the Truth’. And We shall Call out to them: “This is the Paradise (which) you inherited due to what you were doing”

وَنَادَىٰٓ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ أَصْحَـٰبَ ٱلنَّارِ أَن قَدْ وَجَدْنَا مَا وَعَدَنَا رَبُّنَا حَقًّا فَهَلْ وَجَدتُّم مَّا وَعَدَ رَبُّكُمْ حَقًّا ۖ قَالُوا۟ نَعَمْ ۚ فَأَذَّنَ مُؤَذِّنٌۢ بَيْنَهُمْ أَن لَّعْنَةُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَى ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

Wa naadaa Ashaabul jannati ashaaban Naari an qad wajadnaa maa wa'adannaa Rabbunaa haqqan fahal wajattum maa wa'ada Rabbukum haqqan qaaloo na'am; fa azzana mu'azzinum bainahum al la'natul laahi 'alaz zaalimeen

And the dwellers of the paradise will call out to the inmates of the Fire, ‘Surely, we have found what our Lord Promised us, to be true; so did you (also) find what your Lord Promised you, to be true?’ They will say, ‘Yes’. Then a proclaimer would proclaim among them: ‘The Curse of Allah is on the unjust,

ٱلَّذِينَ يَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا وَهُم بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ كَـٰفِرُونَ

Allazeena yasuddoona 'an sabeelil laahi wa yabghoo nahaa 'iwajanw wa hum bil Aakhirati kaafiroon

Those who are blocking from the Way of Allah and are seeking it to be crooked, and they are disbelievers in the Hereafter

وَبَيْنَهُمَا حِجَابٌ ۚ وَعَلَى ٱلْأَعْرَافِ رِجَالٌ يَعْرِفُونَ كُلًّۢا بِسِيمَىٰهُمْ ۚ وَنَادَوْا۟ أَصْحَـٰبَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ أَن سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَيْكُمْ ۚ لَمْ يَدْخُلُوهَا وَهُمْ يَطْمَعُونَ

Wa bainahumaa hijaab; wa 'alal A'raafi rijaaluny ya'rifoona kullam biseemaahum; wa naadaw Ashaabal jannati an salaamun 'alaikum; lam yadkhuloohaa wa hum yatma'oon

And between the two there shall be a veil. And upon the heights would be men recognising all by their marks, and they would be calling out to the dwellers of the Paradise: ‘Peace be on you’ (although) they shall not have entered it yet, but they would be hoping to

۞ وَإِذَا صُرِفَتْ أَبْصَـٰرُهُمْ تِلْقَآءَ أَصْحَـٰبِ ٱلنَّارِ قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا مَعَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

Wa izaa surifat absaaruhum tilqaaa'a Ashaabin Naari qaaloo Rabbanaa laa taj'alnaa ma'al qawmiz zaalimeen

And when their eyes turn towards the inmates of the Fire, they would say: ‘Our Lord! Do not Make us to be with the unjust’

وَنَادَىٰٓ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْأَعْرَافِ رِجَالًا يَعْرِفُونَهُم بِسِيمَىٰهُمْ قَالُوا۟ مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنكُمْ جَمْعُكُمْ وَمَا كُنتُمْ تَسْتَكْبِرُونَ

Wa naadaaa Ashaabul a'raafi rijaalany ya'rifoonahum biseemaahum qaaloo maaa aghnaa 'ankum jam'ukum wa maa kuntum tastakbiroon

And the companions of the heights shall call out to men whom they would be recognising by their marks saying: ‘Your amassing will not avail you and what you used to be arrogant about

أَهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ ٱلَّذِينَ أَقْسَمْتُمْ لَا يَنَالُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ ۚ ٱدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْجَنَّةَ لَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَآ أَنتُمْ تَحْزَنُونَ

A haaa'ulaaa'il lazeena aqsamtum laa yanaaluhumul laahu bi rahmah; udkhulul Jannata laa khawfun 'alaikum wa laaa antum tahzanoon

Are they those whom you swore that they will not attain Allah’s Mercy? Enter the Paradise! There will neither be fear upon you nor will you be grieving!’

وَنَادَىٰٓ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ أَصْحَـٰبَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ أَنْ أَفِيضُوا۟ عَلَيْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمَآءِ أَوْ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ ۚ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ حَرَّمَهُمَا عَلَى ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ

Wa naadaaa Ashaabun Naari Ashaabal jannati an afeedoo 'alainaa minal maaa'i aw mimma razaqakumul laah; qaaloo innal laaha harrama humaa 'alal kaafireen

And the inmates of the Fire shall call out to the dwellers of the Paradise, ‘Pour upon us some of the water or from what your Lord has Graced you’. They would say, ‘Allah has Prohibited it upon the Kafirs’

ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ دِينَهُمْ لَهْوًا وَلَعِبًا وَغَرَّتْهُمُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۚ فَٱلْيَوْمَ نَنسَىٰهُمْ كَمَا نَسُوا۟ لِقَآءَ يَوْمِهِمْ هَـٰذَا وَمَا كَانُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا يَجْحَدُونَ

Allazeenat takhazoo deenahum lahwanw wa la'i-banw wa gharrat humul hayaatud dunyaa; fal Yawma nannsaahum kamaa nasoo liqaaa'a Yawmihim haazaa wa maa kaanoo bi aayaatinaa yajhadoon

Those who are taking their religion as an amusement and play, and the life of the world deceives them. So, today We will Forsake them just as they forgot the meeting of this Day of theirs, and what they were rejecting of our Signs

وَلَقَدْ جِئْنَـٰهُم بِكِتَـٰبٍ فَصَّلْنَـٰهُ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ هُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ

Wa laqad ji'naahum bi Kitaabin fassalnaahu 'alaa 'ilmin hudanw wa rahmatal liqawminy-yu'minoon

And We Came to them with a Book (which) We Clarified upon the Knowledge of Guidance and a Mercy for a believing people

هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا تَأْوِيلَهُۥ ۚ يَوْمَ يَأْتِى تَأْوِيلُهُۥ يَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ نَسُوهُ مِن قَبْلُ قَدْ جَآءَتْ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ فَهَل لَّنَا مِن شُفَعَآءَ فَيَشْفَعُوا۟ لَنَآ أَوْ نُرَدُّ فَنَعْمَلَ غَيْرَ ٱلَّذِى كُنَّا نَعْمَلُ ۚ قَدْ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ

Hal yanzuroona illaa ta'weelah; yawma ya'tee ta'weeluhoo yaqoolul lazeena nasoohu min qablu qad jaaa'at Rusulu Rabbinaa bilhaqq; fahal lanaa min shufa'aaa'a fa yashfa'oo lanaaa aw nuraddu fana'mala ghairal lazee kunnaa na'mal; qad khasirooo anfusahum wa dalla 'anhum maa kaanoo yaftaroon

Are they waiting but for its explanation? On the Day its explanation comes, those who forgot it from before would be saying, ‘The Rasools of our Lord did come with the Truth, so is there anyone from the intercessors for us, so they could intercede for us? Or can we return, so we can do other than that which we did?’ They would have incurred loss for themselves, and it would be lost from them, what they used to fabricate

إِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ ٱسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْعَرْشِ يُغْشِى ٱلَّيْلَ ٱلنَّهَارَ يَطْلُبُهُۥ حَثِيثًا وَٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ وَٱلنُّجُومَ مُسَخَّرَٰتٍۭ بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ ۗ أَلَا لَهُ ٱلْخَلْقُ وَٱلْأَمْرُ ۗ تَبَارَكَ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

Inna Rabbakumul laahul lazee khalaqas samaawaati wal arda fee sittati ayyaamin summas tawaa 'alal 'arshi yughshil lailan nahaara yatlu buhoo haseesanw washshamsa walqamara wannujooma musakharaatim bi amrih; alaa lahul khalqu wal-amr; tabaarakal laahu Rabbul 'aalameen

Surely, your Lord is Allah Who Created the skies and the earth in six days, then Established upon the Throne; He Covers the night over the day, which it pursues incessantly; and the sun and the moon and the stars, made subservient by His Command. Indeed, for Him is the Creation and the Command. Blessed is Allah, Lord of the worlds

ٱدْعُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ تَضَرُّعًا وَخُفْيَةً ۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُعْتَدِينَ

Ud'oo Rabbakum tadarru'anw wa khufyah; innahoo laa yuhibbul mu'tadeen

Call your Lord beseeching and secretly, surely He does not Love the aggressors

وَلَا تُفْسِدُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلَـٰحِهَا وَٱدْعُوهُ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا ۚ إِنَّ رَحْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ قَرِيبٌ مِّنَ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

Wa laa tufsidoo fil ardi ba'da islaahihaa wad'oohu khawfanw wa tama'aa; inna rahmatal laahi qareebum minal muhsineen

And do not make mischief in the earth after it has been set in order, and supplicate to Him fearing and wishing; surely the Mercy of Allah is close to the good doers

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُرْسِلُ ٱلرِّيَـٰحَ بُشْرًۢا بَيْنَ يَدَىْ رَحْمَتِهِۦ ۖ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَقَلَّتْ سَحَابًا ثِقَالًا سُقْنَـٰهُ لِبَلَدٍ مَّيِّتٍ فَأَنزَلْنَا بِهِ ٱلْمَآءَ فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِۦ مِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نُخْرِجُ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ

Wa Huwal lazee yursilur riyaaha bushram baina yadai rahmatihee hattaaa izaaa aqallat sahaaban siqaalan suqnaahu libaladim maiyitin fa annzalnaa bihil maaa'a fa akhrajnaa bihee minn kullis samaraat; kazaalika nukhrijul mawtaa la'allakum tazakkaroon

And He is the One Who Sends the winds bearing glad tidings before His Mercy, until when they bring up a heavy cloud, We Drive it to a dead land, then We Send down water by it, so We Extract by it all fruits; thus We shall Extract the dead, perhaps you would be mindful

وَٱلْبَلَدُ ٱلطَّيِّبُ يَخْرُجُ نَبَاتُهُۥ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِۦ ۖ وَٱلَّذِى خَبُثَ لَا يَخْرُجُ إِلَّا نَكِدًا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نُصَرِّفُ ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَشْكُرُونَ

Walbaladut taiyibu yakhruju nabaatuhoo bi-izni Rabbihee wallazee khabusa laa yakhruju illaa nakidaa; kazaalika nusarriful Aayaati liqawminy yashkuroon

And (as for) the good land, its vegetation comes out by the permission of its Lord, and (as for) that which is bad, it does not come out except a little; like that We Use the Signs for a people who are grateful

لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ فَقَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَـٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ

Laqad arsalnaa noohan ilaa qawmihee faqaala yaa qawmi' budul laaha maa lakum min ilaahin ghairuhoo inneee akhaafu 'alaikum 'azaaba Yawmin 'Azeem

We had Sent Noah to his people, so he said: ‘O people! Worship Allah. There is no god for you other than Him. I fear upon you a Punishment of a grievous Day’

قَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِهِۦٓ إِنَّا لَنَرَىٰكَ فِى ضَلَـٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ

Qaalal mala-u min qaw miheee innaa lanaraaka fee dalaalim mubeen

The chiefs from his people said: ‘We see you to be in clear straying’

قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ لَيْسَ بِى ضَلَـٰلَةٌ وَلَـٰكِنِّى رَسُولٌ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

Qaala yaa qawmi laisa bee dalaalatunw wa laakinnee Rasoolum mir Rabbil 'aalameen

He said: ‘O people! There is no straying with me, but I am a Rasool from the Lord of the worlds

أُبَلِّغُكُمْ رِسَـٰلَـٰتِ رَبِّى وَأَنصَحُ لَكُمْ وَأَعْلَمُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

Uballighukum Risaalaati Rabbee wa ansahu lakum wa a'lamu minal laahi maa laa ta'lamoon

I deliver to you Messages of my Lord, and I am advising to you, and I am more knowing from Allah what you do not know

أَوَعَجِبْتُمْ أَن جَآءَكُمْ ذِكْرٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٍ مِّنكُمْ لِيُنذِرَكُمْ وَلِتَتَّقُوا۟ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ

Awa 'ajibtum an jaaa'akum zikrum mir Rabbikum 'alaa rajulim minkum liyunzirakum wa litattaqoo wa la'allakum turhamoon

And are you astounded that a Reminder came to you from your Lord upon a man from you, to warn you and for you to be fearing, and perhaps you would be Mercied?’

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُ وَٱلَّذِينَ مَعَهُۥ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ وَأَغْرَقْنَا ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا عَمِينَ

Fakazzaboohu fa anjai naahu wallazeena ma'ahoo fil fulki wa aghraqnal lazeena kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa; innahum kaanoo qawman 'ameen

But they belied him, so We Rescued him and those who were with him in the ship, and We Drowned those who belied Our Signs. They were a blind people

۞ وَإِلَىٰ عَادٍ أَخَاهُمْ هُودًا ۗ قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَـٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ ۚ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

Wa ilaa 'aadin akhaahum Hoodaa; qaala yaa qawmi' budul laaha maa lakum min ilaahin ghairuh; afalaa tattaqoon

And to Aad (We Sent) their brother Hud. He said: ‘O people! Worship Allah. There is no god for you other than Him. Will you not fear?’

قَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦٓ إِنَّا لَنَرَىٰكَ فِى سَفَاهَةٍ وَإِنَّا لَنَظُنُّكَ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ

Qaalal mala ul lazeena kafaroo min qawmiheee innaa lanaraaka fee safaahatinw wa innaa la nazunnuka minal kaazibeen

The chiefs of those who committed Kufr from his people said, ‘We see you to be in foolishness, and we certainly think of you to be from the liars’

قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ لَيْسَ بِى سَفَاهَةٌ وَلَـٰكِنِّى رَسُولٌ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

Qaala yaa qawmi laisa bee safaahatunw wa laakinnee Rasoolum mir Rabbil 'aalameen

He said: ‘O people! There isn’t any foolishness with me, but I am a Rasool from the Lord of the worlds

أُبَلِّغُكُمْ رِسَـٰلَـٰتِ رَبِّى وَأَنَا۠ لَكُمْ نَاصِحٌ أَمِينٌ

Uballighukum Risaalaati Rabbee wa ana lakum naasihun ameen

I deliver to you Messages of my Lord and I am a trustworthy adviser to you all

أَوَعَجِبْتُمْ أَن جَآءَكُمْ ذِكْرٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٍ مِّنكُمْ لِيُنذِرَكُمْ ۚ وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ إِذْ جَعَلَكُمْ خُلَفَآءَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ قَوْمِ نُوحٍ وَزَادَكُمْ فِى ٱلْخَلْقِ بَصْۜطَةً ۖ فَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ ءَالَآءَ ٱللَّهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ

Awa 'ajibtum an jaaa'akum zikrum mir Rabbikum 'alaa rajulim minkum liyunzirakum; wazkurooo iz ja'alakum khulafaaa'a mim ba'di qawmi noohinw wa zaadakum filkhalqi bastatan fazkurooo aalaaa'al laahi la'allakum tuflihoon

And are you astounded that a Reminder has come to you from your Lord upon a man from you, to warn you? And remember when He Made you inheritors from after the people of Noah and Increased you extensively regarding the people, therefore remember the Favours of Allah perhaps you would be successful’

قَالُوٓا۟ أَجِئْتَنَا لِنَعْبُدَ ٱللَّهَ وَحْدَهُۥ وَنَذَرَ مَا كَانَ يَعْبُدُ ءَابَآؤُنَا ۖ فَأْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَآ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ

Qaalooo aji'tanaa lina'budal laaha wahdahoo wa nazara maa kaana ya'budu aabaaa'unaa fa'tinaa bimaa ta'idunaaa in kunta minas saadiqeen

They said: ‘Have you come to us so that we would worship Allah Alone and warn against what our fathers worshipped? Then come to us with what you are threatening us with if you were from the truthful ones’

قَالَ قَدْ وَقَعَ عَلَيْكُم مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ رِجْسٌ وَغَضَبٌ ۖ أَتُجَـٰدِلُونَنِى فِىٓ أَسْمَآءٍ سَمَّيْتُمُوهَآ أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُم مَّا نَزَّلَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَا مِن سُلْطَـٰنٍ ۚ فَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟ إِنِّى مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْمُنتَظِرِينَ

Qaala qad waqa'a alaikum mir Rabbikum rijsunw wa ghadab, atujaadiloonanee feee asmaaa'in sammaitumoohaaa antum wa aabaaa'ukum maa nazzalal laahu bihaa min sultaan; fantazirooo innee ma'akum minal muntazireen

He said: ‘There has befallen upon you Torment and Wrath from your Lord. Are you disputing me regarding names which you and your forefathers named, which Allah did not Send an Authorisation for? Then wait. I am (also) with you from the waiting ones’

فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُ وَٱلَّذِينَ مَعَهُۥ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّا وَقَطَعْنَا دَابِرَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا ۖ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ

Fa anjainaahu wallazeena ma'ahoo birahmatim minnaa wa qata'naa daabiral lazeena kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa wa maa kaanoo mu'mineen

So, We Rescued him and those who were with him by a Mercy from Us, and We Cut off the lineages of those who were belying Our Signs; and they were not Momineen

وَإِلَىٰ ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمْ صَـٰلِحًا ۗ قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَـٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥ ۖ قَدْ جَآءَتْكُم بَيِّنَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ ۖ هَـٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةُ ٱللَّهِ لَكُمْ ءَايَةً ۖ فَذَرُوهَا تَأْكُلْ فِىٓ أَرْضِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

Wa ilaa Samooda akhaahum Saalihaa; qaala yaa qawmi' budul laaha maa lakum min ilaahin ghairuhoo qad jaaa'atkum baiyinatum mir Rabbikum haazihee naaqatul laahi lakum Aayatan fazaroohaa ta'kul feee ardil laahi wa laa tamassoohaa bisooo'in fa ya'khuzakum 'azaabun aleem

And to Samood (We sent) their brother Salih. He said: ‘O people! Worship Allah. There is no god for you other than Him. There has come to you a clear proof from your Lord. This here is a she-camel of Allah as a Sign for you, therefore leave her to eat in the land of Allah, and do not touch her with evil, for a painful Punishment would seize you all

وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ إِذْ جَعَلَكُمْ خُلَفَآءَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ عَادٍ وَبَوَّأَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ تَتَّخِذُونَ مِن سُهُولِهَا قُصُورًا وَتَنْحِتُونَ ٱلْجِبَالَ بُيُوتًا ۖ فَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ ءَالَآءَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ

Wazkuroo iz ja'alakum khulafaaa'a mim ba'di 'Aadinw wa bawwa akum fil ardi tattakhizoona min suhoolihaa qusooranw wa tanhitoonal jibaala buyootan fazkurooo aalaaa'al laahi wa laa ta'saw fil ardi mufsideen

And remember when He Made you successors after Aad and settled you in the land - you were making castles from its plains and were carving out the mountains for houses. Therefore remember the Favour of Allah and do not make mischief in the land as corrupters’

قَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ لِلَّذِينَ ٱسْتُضْعِفُوا۟ لِمَنْ ءَامَنَ مِنْهُمْ أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ صَـٰلِحًا مُّرْسَلٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ ۚ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا بِمَآ أُرْسِلَ بِهِۦ مُؤْمِنُونَ

Qaalal mala ul lazeenas takbaroo min qawmihee lillazeenas tud'ifoo liman aamana minhum ata'lamoona anna Saaliham mursalum mir Rabbih; qaalooo innaa bimaaa ursila bihee mu'minoon

The chief of those who were arrogant from his people said to those who were considered weak, to those who believed from them, ‘Are you knowing that Salih is a Rasool from His Lord?’ They said, ‘We are believers in what he has been Sent with’

قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوٓا۟ إِنَّا بِٱلَّذِىٓ ءَامَنتُم بِهِۦ كَـٰفِرُونَ

Qaalal lazeenas takbarooo innaa billazeee aamanntum bihee kaafiroon

Those who were being arrogant said, ‘We are Kafirs with that which you are believing in’

فَعَقَرُوا۟ ٱلنَّاقَةَ وَعَتَوْا۟ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ وَقَالُوا۟ يَـٰصَـٰلِحُ ٱئْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَآ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

Fa'aqarun naaqata wa'ataw 'an amri Rabbihim wa qaaloo yaa Saalihu' tinaa bimaa ta'idunaaa in kunta minal mursaleen

So, they slew the she-camel and were insolent about the Command of their Lord, and they said, ‘O Salih! Come to us with what you are threatening us with, if you were from the Rasools’

فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ فِى دَارِهِمْ جَـٰثِمِينَ

Fa akhazat humur rajfatu fa asbahoo fee daarihim jaasimeen

Then the earthquake seized them, so they became crouching in their houses

فَتَوَلَّىٰ عَنْهُمْ وَقَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ لَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُمْ رِسَالَةَ رَبِّى وَنَصَحْتُ لَكُمْ وَلَـٰكِن لَّا تُحِبُّونَ ٱلنَّـٰصِحِينَ

Fa tawalla 'anhum wa qaala yaa qawmi laqad ablaghtukum Risaalata Rabbee wa nasahtu lakum wa laakil laa tuhibboonan naasiheen

Then he turned away from them and said: ‘O people! I have delivered the Message of my Lord and advised to you all, but you do not love the advisers

وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ أَتَأْتُونَ ٱلْفَـٰحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُم بِهَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِّنَ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

Wa Lootan iz qaala liqawmiheee ata'toonal faahishata maa sabaqakum bihaa min ahadim minal 'aalameen

And Lut, when he said to his people: ‘You are committing the immorality what no one has preceded you with it from the worlds!

إِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ ٱلرِّجَالَ شَهْوَةً مِّن دُونِ ٱلنِّسَآءِ ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّسْرِفُونَ

Innakum lata'toonar rijaala shahwatam min doonin nisaaa'; bal antumqawmum musrifoon

You are coming to the men in lust from besides the women. But, you are an extravagant people

وَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوٓا۟ أَخْرِجُوهُم مِّن قَرْيَتِكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ أُنَاسٌ يَتَطَهَّرُونَ

Wa maa kaana jawaaba qawmihee illaa an qaalooo akhrijoohum min qaryatikum innahum unaasuny yatatahharoon

And there was no answer from his people except that they said, ‘Throw them out from your town! They are a cleansing people’

فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱمْرَأَتَهُۥ كَانَتْ مِنَ ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ

Fa anjainaahu wa ahlahooo illam ra atahoo kaanat minal ghaabireen

So, We Rescued him and his family, except for his wife; she was of those who was left behind

وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا ۖ فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ

Wa 'amtarnaa 'alaihim mataran fanzur kaifa kaana aaqibatul mujrimeen

And We Rained upon them a rain, so look how was the end result of the criminals

وَإِلَىٰ مَدْيَنَ أَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْبًا ۗ قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَـٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥ ۖ قَدْ جَآءَتْكُم بَيِّنَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ ۖ فَأَوْفُوا۟ ٱلْكَيْلَ وَٱلْمِيزَانَ وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا۟ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْ وَلَا تُفْسِدُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلَـٰحِهَا ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

Wa ilaa Madyana akhaahum Shu'aybaa; qaala yaa qawmi' budul laaha maa lakum min ilaahin ghairuhoo qad jaaa'atkum baiyinatum mir Rabbikum fa awful kaila walmeezaana wa laa tabkhasun naasa ashyaa'ahum wa laa tufsidoo fil ardi ba'da islaahihaa; zaalikum khairul lakum in kuntum mu'mineen

And to Madyan (We Sent) their brother Shuayb. He said: ‘O people! Worship Allah! There is no god for you other than Him. There has come to you clear proof from your Lord, so fulfil the weight and the measure, and do not undervalue to the people of their things, nor make mischief in the land after its correction – that would be better for you if you were Momineen

وَلَا تَقْعُدُوا۟ بِكُلِّ صِرَٰطٍ تُوعِدُونَ وَتَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ مَنْ ءَامَنَ بِهِۦ وَتَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا ۚ وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ إِذْ كُنتُمْ قَلِيلًا فَكَثَّرَكُمْ ۖ وَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ

Wa laa taq'udoo bikulli siraatin too'idoona wa tasuddoona 'an sabeelil laahi man aamana bihee wa tabghoonahaa 'iwajaa; waz kurooo iz kuntum qaleelan fakassarakum wanzuroo kaifa kaana 'aaqibatul mufsideen

And do not be sitting in every path, threatening and blocking from the Way of Allah the one who believes in it, and seeking it to be crooked. And remember when you were few, so He Made you numerous, and look how was the end result of the mischief-makers

وَإِن كَانَ طَآئِفَةٌ مِّنكُمْ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِٱلَّذِىٓ أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِۦ وَطَآئِفَةٌ لَّمْ يُؤْمِنُوا۟ فَٱصْبِرُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ يَحْكُمَ ٱللَّهُ بَيْنَنَا ۚ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلْحَـٰكِمِينَ

Wa In kaana taaa'ifatum minkum aamanoo billazeee ursiltu bihee wa taaa'ifatul lam yu'minoo fasbiroo hattaa yahkumal laahu bainanaa; wa Huwa khairul haakimeen

And even if there is a group from you who are believing in that which I have been Sent with, and a group who are not believing, so be patient until Allah Judges between us, and He is the best of the Judges

۞ قَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ لَنُخْرِجَنَّكَ يَـٰشُعَيْبُ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَكَ مِن قَرْيَتِنَآ أَوْ لَتَعُودُنَّ فِى مِلَّتِنَا ۚ قَالَ أَوَلَوْ كُنَّا كَـٰرِهِينَ

Qaalal mala ul lazeenas takbaroo min qawmihee lanukhrijannaka yaa Shu'aibu wallazeena aamanoo ma'aka min qaryatinaaa aw lata'oo dunna fee millatinaa; qaala awa law kunnaa kaariheen

The chiefs, those who were being arrogant from his people said, ‘We will throw you out from our town, O Shuayb, and those who are believing with you, or you return to be in our religion’. He said: ‘Or (even) if we were unwilling?

قَدِ ٱفْتَرَيْنَا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا إِنْ عُدْنَا فِى مِلَّتِكُم بَعْدَ إِذْ نَجَّىٰنَا ٱللَّهُ مِنْهَا ۚ وَمَا يَكُونُ لَنَآ أَن نَّعُودَ فِيهَآ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّنَا ۚ وَسِعَ رَبُّنَا كُلَّ شَىْءٍ عِلْمًا ۚ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْنَا ۚ رَبَّنَا ٱفْتَحْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ قَوْمِنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْفَـٰتِحِينَ

Qadif tarainaa 'alal laahi kaziban in 'udnaa fee millatikum ba'da iz najjaanal laahu minhaa; wa maa yakoonu lanaaa an na'ooda feehaaa illaaa ai yashaaa'al laahu Rabbunaa; wasi'a Rabbunaa kulla shai'in 'ilmaa; 'alal laahi tawakkalnaa; Rabbanaf tah bainanaa wa baina qawminaa bilhaqqi wa Anta khairul faatiheen

We would be fabricating a lie upon Allah if we were to return to be in your religion, after when Allah Rescued us from it; and it does not happen to be (befitting) for us that we should be returning in it except if Allah, our Lord-azwj, so Desires it; and our Lord Comprehends all things in Knowledge. Upon Allah we rely. ‘Our Lord! Decide between us and our people with the Truth, and You are the best of the deciders’’

وَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ لَئِنِ ٱتَّبَعْتُمْ شُعَيْبًا إِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّخَـٰسِرُونَ

Wa qaalal mala ul lazeena kafaroo min qawmihee la'init taba'tum Shu'aiban innakum izal lakhaasiroon

And the chiefs of those who were committing Kufr from his people said, ‘If you were to follow Shuayb, then you would be the loses

فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ فِى دَارِهِمْ جَـٰثِمِينَ

Fa akhazat humur rajfatu fa asbahoo fee daarihim jaasimeen

Then the earthquake Seized them, so they became crouching in their houses

ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ شُعَيْبًا كَأَن لَّمْ يَغْنَوْا۟ فِيهَا ۚ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ شُعَيْبًا كَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْخَـٰسِرِينَ

Allazeena kazzaboo Shu'aiban ka al lam yaghnaw feehaa; allazeena kazzaboo Shu'aiban kaanoo humul khaasireen

Those who were belying Shuayb were as though they never dwelt therein. Those who were belying Shuayb, they were the losers

فَتَوَلَّىٰ عَنْهُمْ وَقَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ لَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُمْ رِسَـٰلَـٰتِ رَبِّى وَنَصَحْتُ لَكُمْ ۖ فَكَيْفَ ءَاسَىٰ عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍ كَـٰفِرِينَ

Fatawalla 'anhum wa qaala yaa qawmi laqad ablaghtukum Risaalaati Rabbee wa nasahtu lakum fakaifa aasaa'alaa qawmin kaafireen

So, he turned away from them and said: ‘O people! I have delivered to you Messages of my Lord, and advised to you all. So how can I have pity upon a Kafir people?’

وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا فِى قَرْيَةٍ مِّن نَّبِىٍّ إِلَّآ أَخَذْنَآ أَهْلَهَا بِٱلْبَأْسَآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَضَّرَّعُونَ

Wa maaa arsalnaa fee qaryatim min Nabiyyin illaaa akhaznaaa ahlahaa bil ba'saaa'i waddarraaa'i la'allahum yaddarra'oon

And We did not Send a Prophet in a town except We Seized its people with the adversities and the distress, perhaps they would be humble

ثُمَّ بَدَّلْنَا مَكَانَ ٱلسَّيِّئَةِ ٱلْحَسَنَةَ حَتَّىٰ عَفَوا۟ وَّقَالُوا۟ قَدْ مَسَّ ءَابَآءَنَا ٱلضَّرَّآءُ وَٱلسَّرَّآءُ فَأَخَذْنَـٰهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ

Summa baddalnaa makaa nas saiyi'atil hasanata hattaa 'afaw wa qaaloo qad massa aabaa'anad darraaa'u wassarraaa'u fa akhaznaahum baghtatanw wa hum laa yash'uroon

Then We Replaced in place of the evil, the good, until they multiplied and said, ‘Our fathers were touched with the adversities and the prosperity’. Then We Seized them suddenly while they were not aware

وَلَوْ أَنَّ أَهْلَ ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱتَّقَوْا۟ لَفَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَرَكَـٰتٍ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَـٰكِن كَذَّبُوا۟ فَأَخَذْنَـٰهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ

Wa law anna ahlal quraaa aamanoo wattaqaw lafatahnaa 'alaihim barakaatim minas samaaa'i wal ardi wa laakin kazzaboo fa akhaznaahum bimaa kaanoo yaksiboon

And if the people of the towns had believed and feared, We would have Opened upon them Blessings from the sky and the earth. But, they belied, so We Seized them due to what they were earning

أَفَأَمِنَ أَهْلُ ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ أَن يَأْتِيَهُم بَأْسُنَا بَيَـٰتًا وَهُمْ نَآئِمُونَ

Afa amina ahlul quraaa ai ya'tiyahum ba'sunaa bayaatanw wa hum naaa'imoon

Are the people of the towns feeling secure from Our Punishment coming to them at night while they are sleeping?

أَوَأَمِنَ أَهْلُ ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ أَن يَأْتِيَهُم بَأْسُنَا ضُحًى وَهُمْ يَلْعَبُونَ

Awa amina ahlul quraaa ai ya'tiyahum ba'sunaa duhanw wa hum yal'aboon

Are the people of the towns feeling secure from Our Punishment coming to them at daytime while they are playing?

أَفَأَمِنُوا۟ مَكْرَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ فَلَا يَأْمَنُ مَكْرَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلْقَوْمُ ٱلْخَـٰسِرُونَ

Afa aminoo makral laah; falaa ya'manu makral laahi illal qawmul khaasiroon

Are they feeling secure from the Plan of Allah? But no one feels secure from the Plan of Allah except the people (who are) losers

أَوَلَمْ يَهْدِ لِلَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ أَهْلِهَآ أَن لَّوْ نَشَآءُ أَصَبْنَـٰهُم بِذُنُوبِهِمْ ۚ وَنَطْبَعُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَسْمَعُونَ

Awa lam yahdi lillazeena yarisoonal arda mim ba'di ahlihaaa al law nashaaa'u asabnaahum bizunoobihim; wa natba'u 'alaa quloobihim fahum laa yasma'oon

Is it not an indication to those who are inheriting the land from after its (former) residents that if We so Desired to, We would Afflict them due to their sins? And We Seal upon their hearts, so they are not hearing

تِلْكَ ٱلْقُرَىٰ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ أَنۢبَآئِهَا ۚ وَلَقَدْ جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ فَمَا كَانُوا۟ لِيُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِمَا كَذَّبُوا۟ مِن قَبْلُ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يَطْبَعُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ

Tilkal quraa naqussu 'alaika min ambaaa'ihaa; wa laqad jaaa'at hum Rusuluhum bilbaiyinaati famaa kaanoo liyu'minoo bimaa kazzaboo min qabl; kazaalika yatba'ul laahu 'alaa quloobil kaafireen

These towns - We Relate to you from its news, and their Rasools had come to them with the clear proofs, but they were not believing due to their having belied from before. Like that, Allah Seals upon the hearts of the Kafirs

وَمَا وَجَدْنَا لِأَكْثَرِهِم مِّنْ عَهْدٍ ۖ وَإِن وَجَدْنَآ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَفَـٰسِقِينَ

Wa maa wajadnaa li aksarihim min 'ahd; wa inw wajadnaaa aksarahum lafaasiqeen

And We did not find in most of them any (faithfulness to) the Covenant, and We found most of them to be mischief-makers

ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِم مُّوسَىٰ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦ فَظَلَمُوا۟ بِهَا ۖ فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ

Summa ba'asnaa mim ba'dihim Moosaa bi Aayaatinaaa ilaa Fir'awana wa mala'ihee fazalamoo bihaa fanzur kaifa kaana 'aaqibatul mufsideen

Then we Sent from after them, Musa with Our Signs to Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they wrongfully rejected these, so look how was the end result of the mischief makers

وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ يَـٰفِرْعَوْنُ إِنِّى رَسُولٌ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

Wa qaala Moosaa yaa Fir'awnu inneee Rasoolum mir Rabbil 'aalameen

And Musa said: ‘O Pharaoh! I am a Rasool from the Lord of the Worlds

حَقِيقٌ عَلَىٰٓ أَن لَّآ أَقُولَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلْحَقَّ ۚ قَدْ جِئْتُكُم بِبَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ فَأَرْسِلْ مَعِىَ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ

Haqeequn 'alaaa al laaa aqoola 'alal laahi illal haqq; qad ji'tukum bibaiyinatim mir Rabbikum fa arsil ma'iya Baneee Israaa'eel

It is befitting upon me that I should not be saying upon Allah except for the Truth. There have (already) come to you clear Proofs from your Lord, therefore send the Children of Israel with me’

قَالَ إِن كُنتَ جِئْتَ بِـَٔايَةٍ فَأْتِ بِهَآ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ

Qaala in kunnta ji'ta bi Aayatin fa'tibihaa in kunnta minas saadiqeen

He said: ‘If you have come with a Sign, then give it, if you were from the truthful ones’

فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِينٌ

Fa alqaa 'asaahu fa izaa hiya su'baanum mubeen

So, he cast his staff, and it was a clear serpent

وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِىَ بَيْضَآءُ لِلنَّـٰظِرِينَ

Wa naza'a yadahoo fa izaa hiya baidaaa'u linnaazireen

And he brought out his hand, and it was white to the beholders

قَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَسَـٰحِرٌ عَلِيمٌ

Qaalal mala-u min qawmi Fir'awna inna haazaa lasaahirun 'aleem

The chiefs from the people of Pharaoh said, ‘Surely this a very knowledgeable sorcerer

يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُمْ ۖ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ

Yureedu ai yukhrijakum min ardikum famaazaa ta'muroon

He intends to throw you all out of your land. So what are your instructions?’

قَالُوٓا۟ أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَأَرْسِلْ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَـٰشِرِينَ

Qaalooo arjih wa akhaahu wa arsil filmadaaa'ini haashireen

They (assembled people) said, ‘Stall him and his brother, and send collectors into the cities

يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَـٰحِرٍ عَلِيمٍ

Ya'tooka bikulli saahirin 'aleem

To bring to you every knowledgeable sorcerer

وَجَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ فِرْعَوْنَ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ

Wa jaaa'as saharatu Fir'awna qaaloo inna lanaa la ajjran in kunnaa nahnul ghaalibeen

And the sorcerers came to Pharaoh. They said, ‘Surely for us should be the recompense if it so transpires that we are the prevailing ones’

قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ

Qaala na'am wa innakum laminal muqarrabeen

He said, ‘Yes, and you shall be from the ones of proximity

قَالُوا۟ يَـٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِمَّآ أَن تُلْقِىَ وَإِمَّآ أَن نَّكُونَ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُلْقِينَ

Qaaloo yaa Moosaaa immaaa an tulqiya wa immaaa an nakoona nahnul mulqeen

They said, ‘O Musa! Either you cast or we would be the casting ones’.

قَالَ أَلْقُوا۟ ۖ فَلَمَّآ أَلْقَوْا۟ سَحَرُوٓا۟ أَعْيُنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَٱسْتَرْهَبُوهُمْ وَجَآءُو بِسِحْرٍ عَظِيمٍ

Qaala alqoo falam maaa alqaw saharooo a'yunannaasi wastarhaboohum wa jaaa'oo bisihrin 'azeem

He said: ‘Cast!’ So when they cast, they bewitched the eyes of the people and frightened them, and they came with a great sorcery

۞ وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَلْقِ عَصَاكَ ۖ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ

Wa awhainaaa ilaa Moosaaa an alqi 'asaaka fa izaa hiya talqafu maa ya'fikoon

And We Revealed to Musa: “Cast your staff!” So it went on to swallow what they were faking

فَوَقَعَ ٱلْحَقُّ وَبَطَلَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ

Fawaqa'al haqqu wa batala maa kaanoo ya'maloon

So, the truth was established, and what they were doing was falsified

فَغُلِبُوا۟ هُنَالِكَ وَٱنقَلَبُوا۟ صَـٰغِرِينَ

Faghuliboo hunaalika wanqalaboo saaghireen

Thus, they were overcome over there and they returned belittled

وَأُلْقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَـٰجِدِينَ

Wa ulqiyas saharatu saajideen

And the sorcerers fell down prostrating

قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

Qaaloo aamannaa bi Rabbil 'aalameen

They said, ‘We believe in the Lord of the Worlds,

رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ

Rabbi Moosaa wa Haaroon

Lord of Musa and Haroun

قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ ءَامَنتُم بِهِۦ قَبْلَ أَنْ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَمَكْرٌ مَّكَرْتُمُوهُ فِى ٱلْمَدِينَةِ لِتُخْرِجُوا۟ مِنْهَآ أَهْلَهَا ۖ فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ

Qaala Fir'awnu aamantum bihee qabla an aazana lakum; inna haaza lamakrum makartumoohu filmadeenati litukhrijoo minhaaa ahlahaa fasawfa ta'lamoon

Pharaoh said, ‘You are believing in him before my having permitted you? Surely this is a plot you plotted in the city in order to turn its people out from it, but soon you shall be knowing

لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَـٰفٍ ثُمَّ لَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

La uqatti'anna aidiyakum wa arjulakum min khilaafin summa la usallibannakum ajma'een

I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, then will I crucify you all together’

قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ

Qaaloo innaaa ilaa Rabbinaa munqaliboon

They said, ‘Surely to our Lord we shall be returning

وَمَا تَنقِمُ مِنَّآ إِلَّآ أَنْ ءَامَنَّا بِـَٔايَـٰتِ رَبِّنَا لَمَّا جَآءَتْنَا ۚ رَبَّنَآ أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَتَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ

Wa maa tanqimu minnaaa illaaa an aamannaa bi Aayaati Rabbinaa lammaa jaaa'atnaa; Rabbanaaa afrigh 'alainaa sabranw wa tawaffanaa muslimeen

And you are not taking revenge from us except that we believe in the Signs of our Lord when they came to us. Our Lord! Pour patience upon us and Cause us to die as submitters’

وَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِ فِرْعَوْنَ أَتَذَرُ مُوسَىٰ وَقَوْمَهُۥ لِيُفْسِدُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَيَذَرَكَ وَءَالِهَتَكَ ۚ قَالَ سَنُقَتِّلُ أَبْنَآءَهُمْ وَنَسْتَحْىِۦ نِسَآءَهُمْ وَإِنَّا فَوْقَهُمْ قَـٰهِرُونَ

Wa qaalal mala-u min qawmi Fir'awna atazaru Moosaa wa qawmahoo liyufsidoo fil ardi wa yazaraka wa aalihatak; qaala sanuqattilu abnaaa 'ahum wa nastahyee nisaaa'ahum wa innaa fawqahum qaahiroon

And the chiefs from the people of Pharaoh said, ‘Will you leave Musa and his people to make mischief in the land and abandon you and your god?’ He (Pharaoh) said, ‘We shall kill their sons and let their women live, and we are subduers above them’

قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ ٱسْتَعِينُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱصْبِرُوٓا۟ ۖ إِنَّ ٱلْأَرْضَ لِلَّهِ يُورِثُهَا مَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ ۖ وَٱلْعَـٰقِبَةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ

Qaala Moosaa liqawmihis ta'eenoo billaahi wasbiroo innal arda lillaahi yoorisuhaa mai yashaaa'u min 'ibaadihee wal 'aaqibatu lilmuttaqeen

Musa said to his people, ‘Seek Assistance with Allah and be patient. Surely the earth is for Allah, He Causes it to be inherited by the one He so Desires to from His servants, and the end-result is for the pious

قَالُوٓا۟ أُوذِينَا مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَأْتِيَنَا وَمِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جِئْتَنَا ۚ قَالَ عَسَىٰ رَبُّكُمْ أَن يُهْلِكَ عَدُوَّكُمْ وَيَسْتَخْلِفَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرَ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُونَ

Qaaloo oozeenaa min qabli an ta'tiyanaa wa mim ba'di maa ji'tanaa; qaala 'asaa Rabbukum ai yuhlika 'aduwwakum wa yastakhli fakum fil ardi fayanzura kaifa ta'maloon

They said, ‘We have been harmed before you came to us and since you came to us’. He said: ‘Perhaps your Lord will Destroy your enemy and Make you rulers in the land, then He will look at how you are behaving’

وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَآ ءَالَ فِرْعَوْنَ بِٱلسِّنِينَ وَنَقْصٍ مِّنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ

Wa laqad akhaznaaa Aala Fir'awna bis sineena wa naqsim minas samaraati la'allahum yazzakkaroon

And We had Seized the people of Pharaoh with the years (of droughts) and shortages of the fruits, perhaps they would be mindful

فَإِذَا جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلْحَسَنَةُ قَالُوا۟ لَنَا هَـٰذِهِۦ ۖ وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَطَّيَّرُوا۟ بِمُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥٓ ۗ أَلَآ إِنَّمَا طَـٰٓئِرُهُمْ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

Fa izaa jaaa'at humul hasanatu qaaloo lanaa haazihee wa in tusibhum saiyi'atuny yattaiyaroo bi Moosaa wa mam ma'ah; alaaa innamaa taaa'iruhum 'indal laahi wa laakinna aksarahum laa ya'lamoon

But whenever good came to them, they said, ‘This is for us’; and if an evil afflicted them, they attributed its omen to Musa and the ones with him. Indeed! Rather, their omen is with Allah, but most of them are not knowing

وَقَالُوا۟ مَهْمَا تَأْتِنَا بِهِۦ مِنْ ءَايَةٍ لِّتَسْحَرَنَا بِهَا فَمَا نَحْنُ لَكَ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ

Wa qaaloo mahmaa taatinaa bihee min Aayatil litas'haranaa bihaa famaa nahnu laka bimu'mineen

And they said, ‘Whatever you bring from a Sign to bewitch us with, we will still not believe in you’

فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلطُّوفَانَ وَٱلْجَرَادَ وَٱلْقُمَّلَ وَٱلضَّفَادِعَ وَٱلدَّمَ ءَايَـٰتٍ مُّفَصَّلَـٰتٍ فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا مُّجْرِمِينَ

Fa arsalnaa 'alaihimut toofaana waljaraada walqum mala waddafaadi'a waddama Aayaatim mufassalaatin fastakbaroo wa kaanoo qawmam mujrimeen

Therefore, We Sent upon them the flood, and the locusts, and the lice, and the blood as decisive Signs. But, they were arrogant and they were a criminal people

وَلَمَّا وَقَعَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلرِّجْزُ قَالُوا۟ يَـٰمُوسَى ٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ بِمَا عَهِدَ عِندَكَ ۖ لَئِن كَشَفْتَ عَنَّا ٱلرِّجْزَ لَنُؤْمِنَنَّ لَكَ وَلَنُرْسِلَنَّ مَعَكَ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ

Wa lammaa waqa'a 'alaihimur rijzu qaaloo ya Moosad-u lanaa rabbaka bimaa 'ahida 'indaka la'in kashafta 'annar rijza lanu 'minanna laka wa lanursilanna ma'aka Banee Israaa'eel

And when the Pestilence (Plague) fell upon them, they said, ‘O Musa! Supplicate to your Lord for us with what He Promised with you. So if you remove the Pestilence from us we will believe you and send the Children of Israel with you’

فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمُ ٱلرِّجْزَ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ هُم بَـٰلِغُوهُ إِذَا هُمْ يَنكُثُونَ

Falammaa kashafnaa 'anhumur rijza ilaaa ajalin hum baalighoohu izaa hum yankusoon

But whenever We Removed the Pestilence from them to a term which they had to reach, they were breaking (their word)

فَٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ فَأَغْرَقْنَـٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا وَكَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا غَـٰفِلِينَ

Fantaqamnaa minhum fa'aghraqnaahum Fil'yammi Bi Annahum kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa wa kaanoo 'anhaa ghaafileen

Therefore, We Took Revenge from them, and We Drowned them in the sea because they were belying Our Signs and were heedless about it.

وَأَوْرَثْنَا ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَانُوا۟ يُسْتَضْعَفُونَ مَشَـٰرِقَ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَغَـٰرِبَهَا ٱلَّتِى بَـٰرَكْنَا فِيهَا ۖ وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ عَلَىٰ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ بِمَا صَبَرُوا۟ ۖ وَدَمَّرْنَا مَا كَانَ يَصْنَعُ فِرْعَوْنُ وَقَوْمُهُۥ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْرِشُونَ

Wa awrasnal qawmal lazeena kaanoo yustad'afoona mashaariqal ardi wa maghaari bahal latee baaraknaa feehaa wa tammat kalimatu Rabbikal husnaa 'alaa Baneee Israaa'eela bimaa sabaroo wa dammarnaa maa kaana yasna'u Fir'awnu wa qawmuhoo wa maa kaanoo ya'rishoon

And We Caused the people, those who were deemed weak, to inherit the eastern lands and its western ones which We had Blessed in; and the beautiful Word of your Lord was fulfilled upon the Children of Israel due to their being patient, and We Annihilated what Pharaoh and his people were doing and what they were building

وَجَـٰوَزْنَا بِبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ٱلْبَحْرَ فَأَتَوْا۟ عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍ يَعْكُفُونَ عَلَىٰٓ أَصْنَامٍ لَّهُمْ ۚ قَالُوا۟ يَـٰمُوسَى ٱجْعَل لَّنَآ إِلَـٰهًا كَمَا لَهُمْ ءَالِهَةٌ ۚ قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْمٌ تَجْهَلُونَ

Wa jaawaznaa bi Banneee Israaa'eelal bahra fa ataw 'alaa qawminy ya'kufoona 'alaaa asnaamil lahum; qaaloo yaa Moosaj'al lanaa ilaahan kamaa lahum aalihah; qaala innakum qawmun tajhaloon

And We Got the Children of Israel to cross the sea, and they came to a people devoting themselves to their idols. They said, ‘O Musa! Make a god for us just as there is a god for them’. He said, ‘You are an ignorant people

إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ مُتَبَّرٌ مَّا هُمْ فِيهِ وَبَـٰطِلٌ مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ

Innaa haaa'ulaaa'i mutabbarum maa hum feehi wa baatilum maa kaanoo ya'maloon

Surely, they would be destroyed by what they are indulging in, and it would be invalidated, what they have been doing’

قَالَ أَغَيْرَ ٱللَّهِ أَبْغِيكُمْ إِلَـٰهًا وَهُوَ فَضَّلَكُمْ عَلَى ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

Qaala a-ghairal laahi abgheekum ilaahanw wa Huwa faddalakum 'alal 'aalameen

He said: ‘Should I seek for you all a god other than Allah, and He has Preferred you over the worlds?

وَإِذْ أَنجَيْنَـٰكُم مِّنْ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَسُومُونَكُمْ سُوٓءَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ۖ يُقَتِّلُونَ أَبْنَآءَكُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيُونَ نِسَآءَكُمْ ۚ وَفِى ذَٰلِكُم بَلَآءٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَظِيمٌ

Wa iz anjainaakum min Aali Fir'awna yasoomoo nakum sooo'al 'azaab, yuqattiloona abnaaa'akum wa yastahyoona nisaaa'akum; wa fee zaalikum balaaa'um mir Rabbikum 'azeem

And when We Rescued you from the people of Pharaoh subjecting you to evil punishment. They were killing your sons and were letting your womenfolk live, and in that was a grievous affliction from your Lord

۞ وَوَٰعَدْنَا مُوسَىٰ ثَلَـٰثِينَ لَيْلَةً وَأَتْمَمْنَـٰهَا بِعَشْرٍ فَتَمَّ مِيقَـٰتُ رَبِّهِۦٓ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً ۚ وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِأَخِيهِ هَـٰرُونَ ٱخْلُفْنِى فِى قَوْمِى وَأَصْلِحْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ سَبِيلَ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ

Wa waa'adnaa Moosaa salaaseena lailatanw wa at mamnaahaa bi'ashrim fatamma meeqaatu Rabbihee arba'eena lailah; wa qaala Moosaa liakheehi Haaroonakh lufnee fee qawmee wa aslih wa laa tattabi' sabeelal mufsideen

And We Appointed thirty nights for Musa and Completed it with ten (more), so the complete time with his Lord was of forty nights. And Musa said to his brother Haroun: ‘Be my Caliph among my people and be righteous, and do not follow the way of the mischief makers’

وَلَمَّا جَآءَ مُوسَىٰ لِمِيقَـٰتِنَا وَكَلَّمَهُۥ رَبُّهُۥ قَالَ رَبِّ أَرِنِىٓ أَنظُرْ إِلَيْكَ ۚ قَالَ لَن تَرَىٰنِى وَلَـٰكِنِ ٱنظُرْ إِلَى ٱلْجَبَلِ فَإِنِ ٱسْتَقَرَّ مَكَانَهُۥ فَسَوْفَ تَرَىٰنِى ۚ فَلَمَّا تَجَلَّىٰ رَبُّهُۥ لِلْجَبَلِ جَعَلَهُۥ دَكًّا وَخَرَّ مُوسَىٰ صَعِقًا ۚ فَلَمَّآ أَفَاقَ قَالَ سُبْحَـٰنَكَ تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَأَنَا۠ أَوَّلُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Wa lammaa jaaa'a Moosa limeeqaatinaa wa kallamahoo Rabbuhoo qaala Rabbi arineee anzur ilaik; qaala lan taraanee wa laakininzur ilal jabali fa inistaqarra makaanahoo fasawfa taraanee; falammaa tajallaa Rabbuhoo liljabali ja'alahoo dakkanw wa kharra Moosaa sa'iqaa; falammaaa afaaqa qaala Subhaanaka tubtu ilaika wa ana awwalul mu'mineen

And when Musa came to Our Appointment and his Lord Spoke to him, he said, ‘Lord! Show me (Yourself), to look at You’. He Said: “You can never see Me, but look at the mountain, so if it remains steady in its place, then you would see Me”. So when His Lord Manifest (His Glory) to the mountain, it went on to crumble, and Musa fell down unconscious. So when he awoke, he said, ‘Glorious are You! I turn to You and I am the first of the Momineen’

قَالَ يَـٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِنِّى ٱصْطَفَيْتُكَ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ بِرِسَـٰلَـٰتِى وَبِكَلَـٰمِى فَخُذْ مَآ ءَاتَيْتُكَ وَكُن مِّنَ ٱلشَّـٰكِرِينَ

Qaala yaa Moosaaa innis tafaituka 'alan naasi bi Risaalaatee wa bi kalaamee fakhuz maaa aataituka wa kum minash shaakireen

He said: ‘O Musa! I hereby Choose you over the people by My Messages and by My Speech, therefore take what I Give you and be from the grateful ones!”

وَكَتَبْنَا لَهُۥ فِى ٱلْأَلْوَاحِ مِن كُلِّ شَىْءٍ مَّوْعِظَةً وَتَفْصِيلًا لِّكُلِّ شَىْءٍ فَخُذْهَا بِقُوَّةٍ وَأْمُرْ قَوْمَكَ يَأْخُذُوا۟ بِأَحْسَنِهَا ۚ سَأُو۟رِيكُمْ دَارَ ٱلْفَـٰسِقِينَ

Wa katabnaa lahoo fil alwaahi minkulli shai'im maw'izaanw wa tafseelal likulli shai'in fakhuzhaa biquwwatinw wa'mur qawmaka ya'khuzoo bi ahsanihaa; sa'ooreekum daaral faasiqeen

And We Prescribed to him in the Tablets, Advice from all things and detail of everything: “Grab firmly and order your people that they should be taking with the best of it. I will show you the abode of the mischief-makers

سَأَصْرِفُ عَنْ ءَايَـٰتِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَكَبَّرُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ كُلَّ ءَايَةٍ لَّا يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِهَا وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ سَبِيلَ ٱلرُّشْدِ لَا يَتَّخِذُوهُ سَبِيلًا وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ سَبِيلَ ٱلْغَىِّ يَتَّخِذُوهُ سَبِيلًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا وَكَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا غَـٰفِلِينَ

Sa asrifu 'an Aayaatiyal lazeena yatakabbaroona fil ardi bighairil haqq; wa iny-yaraw kulla Aayatil laa yu'minoo bihaa wa iny-yaraw sabeelar rushdi laa yattakhizoohu sabeelanw wa iny-yaraw sabeelal ghaiyi yattakhizoohu sabeelaa; zaalika bi annahum kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa wa kaanoo 'anhaa ghaafileen

I will Turn away from My Signs those who are being arrogant in the earth without right; and even if they were to see every Sign they would not be believing in it, and even if they were to see the right way they would not be taking it as a way; and (but) if they were to see the way of error, they would be taking it as a way; that is because they were belying Our Signs and were heedless from these

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا وَلِقَآءِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَـٰلُهُمْ ۚ هَلْ يُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ

Wallazeena kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa wa liqaaa'il Aakhirati habitat 'amaaluhum; hal yujzawna illaa maa kaanoo ya'maloon

And those who are belying Our Signs and meeting of the Hereafter, their deeds would be nullified. Would they be Recompensed except for what they had being doing?

وَٱتَّخَذَ قَوْمُ مُوسَىٰ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ مِنْ حُلِيِّهِمْ عِجْلًا جَسَدًا لَّهُۥ خُوَارٌ ۚ أَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّهُۥ لَا يُكَلِّمُهُمْ وَلَا يَهْدِيهِمْ سَبِيلًا ۘ ٱتَّخَذُوهُ وَكَانُوا۟ ظَـٰلِمِينَ

Wattakhaza qawmu Moosaa mim ba'dihee min huliyyihim 'ijlan jasadal lahoo khuwaar; alam yaraw annahoo laa yukallimuhum wa laa yahdeehim sabeelaa; ittakhazoohu wa kaanoo zaalimeen

And the people of Musa took to making a body of a calf from their ornaments, for it being a hollow sound. Were they not seeing that it was neither speaking to them nor guiding them to a way? They took it, and they were unjust

وَلَمَّا سُقِطَ فِىٓ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَرَأَوْا۟ أَنَّهُمْ قَدْ ضَلُّوا۟ قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ يَرْحَمْنَا رَبُّنَا وَيَغْفِرْ لَنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْخَـٰسِرِينَ

Wa lammaa suqita feee aideehim wa ra aw annahum qad dalloo qaaloo la'il lam yarhamnaa Rabbunaa wa yaghfir lanaa lanakoonanna minal khaasireen

And when it fell into their hands and they saw that they had strayed, they said, ‘If our Lord is not Merciful to us, we would become from the losers’

وَلَمَّا رَجَعَ مُوسَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ غَضْبَـٰنَ أَسِفًا قَالَ بِئْسَمَا خَلَفْتُمُونِى مِنۢ بَعْدِىٓ ۖ أَعَجِلْتُمْ أَمْرَ رَبِّكُمْ ۖ وَأَلْقَى ٱلْأَلْوَاحَ وَأَخَذَ بِرَأْسِ أَخِيهِ يَجُرُّهُۥٓ إِلَيْهِ ۚ قَالَ ٱبْنَ أُمَّ إِنَّ ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱسْتَضْعَفُونِى وَكَادُوا۟ يَقْتُلُونَنِى فَلَا تُشْمِتْ بِىَ ٱلْأَعْدَآءَ وَلَا تَجْعَلْنِى مَعَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

Wa lammaa raja'a Moosaaa ilaa qawmihee ghadbaana asifan qaala bi'samaa khalaftumoonee min ba'dee 'a-'ajiltum amra Rabbikum wa alqal alwaaha wa akhaza bira'si akheehi yajurruhoo ilaiyh; qaalab na umma innal qawmas tad'afoonee wa kadoo yaqtu loonanee; falaa tushmit biyal a'daaa'a wa laa taj'alnee ma'al qawmiz zaalimeen

And when Musa returned to his people, angry, unhappy, he said: ‘Evil was your replacing me from after me. Were you all impatient of the Command of your Lord?’ And he threw the Tablets and grabbed the head of his brother dragging towards him. He said: ‘Son of my mother! Surely the people weakened me and they almost killed me, therefore do not let the enemies to gloat with me nor consider me to be with the unjust people’

قَالَ رَبِّ ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَلِأَخِى وَأَدْخِلْنَا فِى رَحْمَتِكَ ۖ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ

Qaala Rabbighfirlee wa li akhee wa adkhilnaa fee rahmatika wa Anta arhamur raahimeen

He said: ‘My Lord! Forgive me and my brother and Enter us into Your Mercy, and You are the most Merciful of the merciful ones’

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ ٱلْعِجْلَ سَيَنَالُهُمْ غَضَبٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَذِلَّةٌ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُفْتَرِينَ

Innal lazeenat takhazul 'ijla-sa yanaaluhum ghadabum mir Rabbihim wa zillatun fil hayaatid dunyaa; wa kazaalika najzil muftareen

Surely, those who took to the calf, they attained the Wrath from their Lord and disgrace in the life of the world; and like that do We Recompense the fabricators

وَٱلَّذِينَ عَمِلُوا۟ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ ثُمَّ تَابُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِهَا وَءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهَا لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

Wallazeena 'amilus saiyiaati summa taaboo min ba'dihaa wa aamanooo inna Rabbaka min ba'dihaa la Ghafoorur Raheem

And those who do evil deeds, then repent from after it and believe, surely your Lord, from after it, would be Forgiving, Merciful

وَلَمَّا سَكَتَ عَن مُّوسَى ٱلْغَضَبُ أَخَذَ ٱلْأَلْوَاحَ ۖ وَفِى نُسْخَتِهَا هُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِرَبِّهِمْ يَرْهَبُونَ

Wa lammaa sakata 'an Moosal ghadabu akhazal alwaaha wa fee nuskhatihaa hudanw wa rahmatul lil lazeena hum li Rabbihim yarhaboon

And when the anger of Musa subsided, he took the Tablets, and in its inscription was Guidance and Mercy for those who were scared of their Lord

وَٱخْتَارَ مُوسَىٰ قَوْمَهُۥ سَبْعِينَ رَجُلًا لِّمِيقَـٰتِنَا ۖ فَلَمَّآ أَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلرَّجْفَةُ قَالَ رَبِّ لَوْ شِئْتَ أَهْلَكْتَهُم مِّن قَبْلُ وَإِيَّـٰىَ ۖ أَتُهْلِكُنَا بِمَا فَعَلَ ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ مِنَّآ ۖ إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا فِتْنَتُكَ تُضِلُّ بِهَا مَن تَشَآءُ وَتَهْدِى مَن تَشَآءُ ۖ أَنتَ وَلِيُّنَا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا وَٱرْحَمْنَا ۖ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْغَـٰفِرِينَ

Wakhtaara Moosaa qawmahoo sab'eena rajulal li meeqaatinaa falammaa akhazat humur rajfatu qaala Rabbi law shi'ta ahlaktahum min qablu wa iyyaay; 'a tuhlikuna bimaa fa'alas sufahaaa'u minaa in hiya illaa fitnatuka tudillu bihaa man tashaaa'u wa tahdee man tashaaa; Anta waliyyunaa faghfir lanaa warhamnaa wa Anta khairul ghaafireen

And Musa chose seventy men of his community for Our Appointment. So when the tremor Seized them, he said: ‘Lord! If You had so Desires, You could have Destroyed them from before, and myself (as well). Will You Destroy us due to what the foolish ones from us have done? Surely, it is only a Trial. You stray by it the one You so Desire to and Guide the one You so Desire to. You are our Guardian, therefore Forgive us and be Merciful to us, and You are the best of the forgivers

۞ وَٱكْتُبْ لَنَا فِى هَـٰذِهِ ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ إِنَّا هُدْنَآ إِلَيْكَ ۚ قَالَ عَذَابِىٓ أُصِيبُ بِهِۦ مَنْ أَشَآءُ ۖ وَرَحْمَتِى وَسِعَتْ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ ۚ فَسَأَكْتُبُهَا لِلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ وَيُؤْتُونَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا يُؤْمِنُونَ

Waktub lanaa fee haazi hid dunyaa hasanatanw wa fil Aakhirati innaa hudnaaa ilaik; qaala 'azaabee useebu bihee man ashaaa'u wa rahmatee wasi'at kulla shai'; fasa aktubuhaa lil lazeena yattaqoona wa yu'toonaz Zakaata wal lazeena hum bi Aayaatinaa yu'minoon

And Ordain for us goodness in this world and in the Hereafter. Surely, You Guided us to You’. He Said: “My Punishment, I Afflict by it the one I so Desire to, and My Mercy Extends to all things”. So, We Ordained it for those who are fearing and paying the Zakat, and believing in Our Signs

ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ ٱلرَّسُولَ ٱلنَّبِىَّ ٱلْأُمِّىَّ ٱلَّذِى يَجِدُونَهُۥ مَكْتُوبًا عِندَهُمْ فِى ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ وَٱلْإِنجِيلِ يَأْمُرُهُم بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَىٰهُمْ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَيُحِلُّ لَهُمُ ٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِ وَيُحَرِّمُ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْخَبَـٰٓئِثَ وَيَضَعُ عَنْهُمْ إِصْرَهُمْ وَٱلْأَغْلَـٰلَ ٱلَّتِى كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ فَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِهِۦ وَعَزَّرُوهُ وَنَصَرُوهُ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ ٱلنُّورَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُنزِلَ مَعَهُۥٓ ۙ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ

Allazeena yattabi'oonar Rasoolan Nabiyyal ummiyyal lazee yajidoonahoo maktooban 'indahum fit Tawraati wal Injeeli ya' muruhum bilma'roofi wa yanhaahum 'anil munkari wa yuhillu lahumul taiyibaati wa yuharrimu 'alaihimul khabaaa'isa wa yada'u 'anhum israhum wal aghlaalal latee kaanat 'alaihim; fallazeena aamanoo bihee wa 'azzaroohu wa nasaroohu wattaba'un nooral lazeee unzila ma'ahooo ulaaa'ika humul muflihoon

Those who are following the Rasool, the Prophet, the Ummy (Makkan) whom they are finding written with them in the Torah and the Evangel (that) he would be instructing them with the good things and forbidding them from the evil, and permitting for them the good things and prohibiting upon them the bad, and removing from them their burdens and their shackles which would be upon them. So those who believe in him, and assist him, and help him, and follow the Light which descends with him, they would be the successful ones

قُلْ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِنِّى رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ إِلَيْكُمْ جَمِيعًا ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ ۖ فَـَٔامِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ٱلنَّبِىِّ ٱلْأُمِّىِّ ٱلَّذِى يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ وَكَلِمَـٰتِهِۦ وَٱتَّبِعُوهُ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ

Qul yaaa aiyuhan naasu innee Rasoolul laahi ilaikum jamee'anil lazee lahoo mulkus samaawaati wal ardi laaa ilaaha illaa Huwa yuhyee wa yumeetu fa aaminoo billaahi wa Rasoolihin Nabiyyil ummiy yil lazee yu'minu billaahi wa Kalimaatihee wattabi'oohu la'allakum tahtadoon

Say: ‘O you people! I am a Rasool of Allah to you all, Who for Him is the Kingdom of the skies and the earth. There is no god except Him, He Causes to live and die. Therefore believe in Allah and His Rasool, the prophet, the Ummy (From Makkah) who believes in Allah and His Words, and follow him, so you may be rightly Guided’

وَمِن قَوْمِ مُوسَىٰٓ أُمَّةٌ يَهْدُونَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَبِهِۦ يَعْدِلُونَ

Wa min qawmi Moosaaa ummatuny yahdoona bilhaqqi wa bihee ya'diloon

And from the people of Musa there is a community is guiding with the Truth and by it they are dispensing justice

وَقَطَّعْنَـٰهُمُ ٱثْنَتَىْ عَشْرَةَ أَسْبَاطًا أُمَمًا ۚ وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ إِذِ ٱسْتَسْقَىٰهُ قَوْمُهُۥٓ أَنِ ٱضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلْحَجَرَ ۖ فَٱنۢبَجَسَتْ مِنْهُ ٱثْنَتَا عَشْرَةَ عَيْنًا ۖ قَدْ عَلِمَ كُلُّ أُنَاسٍ مَّشْرَبَهُمْ ۚ وَظَلَّلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْغَمَـٰمَ وَأَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْمَنَّ وَٱلسَّلْوَىٰ ۖ كُلُوا۟ مِن طَيِّبَـٰتِ مَا رَزَقْنَـٰكُمْ ۚ وَمَا ظَلَمُونَا وَلَـٰكِن كَانُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ

Wa qatta' naahumus natai 'ashrata asbaatan umamaa; wa awhainaa ilaa Moosaaa izis tasqaahu qawmuhooo anid rib bi'asaakal hajara fambajasat minhus nata 'ashrata 'ainan qad 'alima kullu unaasim mashrabahum; wa zallalnaa 'alaihimul ghamaama wa anzalnaa 'alaihimul manna was Salwaa kuloo min taiyibaati maa razaqnaakum; wa maa zalamoonaa wa laakin kaanooo anfusahum yazlimoon

And We Divided them into twelve tribes, as communities, and We Revealed to Musa when his people asked him for water: “Strike the rock with your staff!” So there gushed out twelve springs from it. All people knew their respective drinking place. And We Shaded the clouds upon them and Sent down upon them the manna and the quails: “Eat from the good things What We Grace you!” And they did not wrong us but they were being unjust to their own selves

وَإِذْ قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱسْكُنُوا۟ هَـٰذِهِ ٱلْقَرْيَةَ وَكُلُوا۟ مِنْهَا حَيْثُ شِئْتُمْ وَقُولُوا۟ حِطَّةٌ وَٱدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْبَابَ سُجَّدًا نَّغْفِرْ لَكُمْ خَطِيٓـَٔـٰتِكُمْ ۚ سَنَزِيدُ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

Wa iz qeela lahumuskunoo haazihil qaryata wa kuloo minhaa haisu shi'tum wa qooloo hittatunw wadkhulul baaba sujjadan naghfir lakum khateee'aatikum; sanazeedul muhsineen

And when it was said to them: ‘Reside in this town and eat from it wherever you so desire to, and be saying, ‘Hitta’, and enter into the door performing Sajdah, We will Forgive your mistakes for you. We will Increase for the good doers’

فَبَدَّلَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ قَوْلًا غَيْرَ ٱلَّذِى قِيلَ لَهُمْ فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِجْزًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَظْلِمُونَ

Fabaddalal lazeena zalamoo minhum qawlan ghairal lazee qeela lahum fa arsalnaa 'alaihim rijzan minas samaaa'i bimaa kaanoo yazlimoon

But those who were unjust from them, replaced it with other than the word which was said to them. So We Sent upon them a Pestilence (Plague) from the sky due to their wrong doings

وَسْـَٔلْهُمْ عَنِ ٱلْقَرْيَةِ ٱلَّتِى كَانَتْ حَاضِرَةَ ٱلْبَحْرِ إِذْ يَعْدُونَ فِى ٱلسَّبْتِ إِذْ تَأْتِيهِمْ حِيتَانُهُمْ يَوْمَ سَبْتِهِمْ شُرَّعًا وَيَوْمَ لَا يَسْبِتُونَ ۙ لَا تَأْتِيهِمْ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَبْلُوهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْسُقُونَ

Was'alhum 'anil qaryatil latee kaanat haadiratal bahri iz ya'doona fis Sabti iz ta'teehim heetaanuhum yawma Sabtihim shurra'anw wa yawma laa yasbitoona laa ta'teehim; kazaalika nabloohum bimaa kaanoo yafsuqoon

And ask them about the town which was by the sea. When they exceeded during the Sabbath when their fish came to them on the day of their Sabbath on the surface (of the water), and the day they were not observing Sabbath, these did not come to them. Like that We Tried them due to what they had been corrupting

وَإِذْ قَالَتْ أُمَّةٌ مِّنْهُمْ لِمَ تَعِظُونَ قَوْمًا ۙ ٱللَّهُ مُهْلِكُهُمْ أَوْ مُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا ۖ قَالُوا۟ مَعْذِرَةً إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمْ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُونَ

Wa iz qaalat ummatum minhum lima ta'izoona qaw manil laahu muhlikuhum aw mu'azzibuhum 'azaaban shadeedan qaaloo ma'ziratan ilaa Rabbikum wa la'allahum yattaqoon

And when a community from them said, ‘Why are you advising a people whom Allah would either be Destroying or Punishing by a severe Punishment?’ They said, ‘As an excuse to your Lord, and perhaps they would be fearing’

فَلَمَّا نَسُوا۟ مَا ذُكِّرُوا۟ بِهِۦٓ أَنجَيْنَا ٱلَّذِينَ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلسُّوٓءِ وَأَخَذْنَا ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ بِعَذَابٍۭ بَـِٔيسٍۭ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْسُقُونَ

Falammaa nasoo maa zukkiroo bihee anjainal lazeena yanhawna 'anis sooo'i wa akhaznal lazeena zalamoo bi'azaabim ba'eesim bimaa kaanoo yafsuqoon

When they forgot what they had been reminded with, We Rescued those who were forbidding from the evil and We Seized those who were unjust with an evil (Punishment) due to what they had been corrupting

فَلَمَّا عَتَوْا۟ عَن مَّا نُهُوا۟ عَنْهُ قُلْنَا لَهُمْ كُونُوا۟ قِرَدَةً خَـٰسِـِٔينَ

Falammaa 'ataw 'ammaa nuhoo 'anhu qulna lahum koonoo qiradatan khaasi'een

When they exceeded about what We had Forbidden (them) from, We Said to them: “Become apes, despised (despicable)!”

وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكَ لَيَبْعَثَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ مَن يَسُومُهُمْ سُوٓءَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ۗ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَسَرِيعُ ٱلْعِقَابِ ۖ وَإِنَّهُۥ لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

Wa iz ta azzana Rabbuka la yab'asannna 'alaihim ilaa Yawmil Qiyaamati mai yasoomuhum sooo'al 'azaab; inna Rabbaka lasaree'ul 'iqaabi wa innahoo la Ghafoorur Raheem

And when your Lord Proclaimed that He would Send upon them, up to the Day of Judgment, ones who would subject them to evil punishment, surely your Lord is Swift in the Punishment, and He is Forgiving, Merciful

وَقَطَّعْنَـٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أُمَمًا ۖ مِّنْهُمُ ٱلصَّـٰلِحُونَ وَمِنْهُمْ دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَبَلَوْنَـٰهُم بِٱلْحَسَنَـٰتِ وَٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ

Wa qatta'naahum fil ardi umaman min humus saalihoona wa min hum doona zaalika wa balawnaahum bil hasanaati was saiyi'aati la'allahum yarji'oon

And We Divided them in the earth as communities – from them are the righteous ones, and from them are besides that, and We Tried them with the good (Blessings) and evil (Calamities) perhaps they would be returning

فَخَلَفَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ وَرِثُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ يَأْخُذُونَ عَرَضَ هَـٰذَا ٱلْأَدْنَىٰ وَيَقُولُونَ سَيُغْفَرُ لَنَا وَإِن يَأْتِهِمْ عَرَضٌ مِّثْلُهُۥ يَأْخُذُوهُ ۚ أَلَمْ يُؤْخَذْ عَلَيْهِم مِّيثَـٰقُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ أَن لَّا يَقُولُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلْحَقَّ وَدَرَسُوا۟ مَا فِيهِ ۗ وَٱلدَّارُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لِّلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ ۗ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

Fakhalafa min ba'dihim khalfunw warisul Kitaaba ya'khuzoona 'arada haazal adnaa wa yaqooloona sayughfaru lanaa wa iny ya'tihim 'aradun misluhoo ya'khuzooh; alam yu'khaz 'alaihim meesaaqul Kitaabi an laa yaqooloo 'alal laahi illal haqqa wa darasoo maa feeh; wad Daarul Aakhirtu khairul lil lazeena yattaqoon; afalaa ta'qiloon

Then there succeeded after them a succeeding (generation), inheriting the Book. They were taking the display of this low (world) and they were saying, ‘It would be Forgiven for us’. And even if a vanity came to them similar to it, they took it. Was not a Covenant of the Book Taken upon them that they would not be saying upon Allah except the Truth, and they had studied what was in it? And the House of the Hereafter is better for those who are fearing, will you not understand?

وَٱلَّذِينَ يُمَسِّكُونَ بِٱلْكِتَـٰبِ وَأَقَامُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ إِنَّا لَا نُضِيعُ أَجْرَ ٱلْمُصْلِحِينَ

Wallazeena yumas sikoona bil Kitaabi wa aqaamus Salaata innaa laa nudeeu'ajral musliheen

And those who are adhering with the Book and are establishing the Salat, surely We would not waste the Recompense of the righteous ones

۞ وَإِذْ نَتَقْنَا ٱلْجَبَلَ فَوْقَهُمْ كَأَنَّهُۥ ظُلَّةٌ وَظَنُّوٓا۟ أَنَّهُۥ وَاقِعٌۢ بِهِمْ خُذُوا۟ مَآ ءَاتَيْنَـٰكُم بِقُوَّةٍ وَٱذْكُرُوا۟ مَا فِيهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ

Wa iz nataqnal jabala fawqahum ka annahoo zullatunw wa zannooo annahoo waaqi'un bihim khuzoo maaa aatainaakum biquwwatinw wazkuroo maa feehi la'allakum tattaqoon

And when We Shook the mountain above them as if it was a shade, and they thought it was going to fall upon them, (We Said): “Grab what We Gave you with strength and remember whatever is in it, perhaps you would be fearing”

وَإِذْ أَخَذَ رَبُّكَ مِنۢ بَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ مِن ظُهُورِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَأَشْهَدَهُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ أَلَسْتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ ۖ قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ ۛ شَهِدْنَآ ۛ أَن تَقُولُوا۟ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ إِنَّا كُنَّا عَنْ هَـٰذَا غَـٰفِلِينَ

Wa iz akhaza Rabbuka min Baneee Aadama min zuhoorihim zurriyyatahum wa ashhadahum 'alaa anfusihim alastu bi Rabbikum qaaloo balaa shahidnaaa; an taqooloo Yawmal Qiyaamati innaa kunnaa 'an haazaa ghaafileen

And when your Lord Seized from the Children of Adam, their offspring from their foreheads and Made them testify against their own selves: “Am I not your Lord?” They said, ‘Yes, we testify’. (He Said): “Lest you should be saying on the Day of Judgment, ‘We were oblivious of this’

أَوْ تَقُولُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَشْرَكَ ءَابَآؤُنَا مِن قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا ذُرِّيَّةً مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ ۖ أَفَتُهْلِكُنَا بِمَا فَعَلَ ٱلْمُبْطِلُونَ

Aw taqoolooo innamaaa ashraka aabaaa 'unaa min qablu wa kunnaa zurriyyatan min ba'dihim 'a fa tuhlikunaa bi maa fa'alal mubtiloon

Or you should be saying, ‘But rather, our fathers associated from before, and were an offspring from after them. Will You Destroy us due to the deeds of the wrong-doers?’

وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ

Wa kazaalika nufassilul Aayaati wa la'allahum yarji'oon

And like that We Clarify the Verses and perhaps they would be returning

وَٱتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ ٱلَّذِىٓ ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُ ءَايَـٰتِنَا فَٱنسَلَخَ مِنْهَا فَأَتْبَعَهُ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْغَاوِينَ

Watlu 'alaihim naba allazeee aatainaahu Aayaatinaa fansalakha minhaa fa atba'a hush Shaytaanoo fakaana minal ghaaween

And recite to them the one We Gave Our Signs to, but he detached from it and he followed the satan, so he was from the deviators

وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَرَفَعْنَـٰهُ بِهَا وَلَـٰكِنَّهُۥٓ أَخْلَدَ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُ ۚ فَمَثَلُهُۥ كَمَثَلِ ٱلْكَلْبِ إِن تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْهِ يَلْهَثْ أَوْ تَتْرُكْهُ يَلْهَث ۚ ذَّٰلِكَ مَثَلُ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا ۚ فَٱقْصُصِ ٱلْقَصَصَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ

Wa law shi'naa larafa'naahu bihaa wa laakin nahooo akhlada ilal ardi wattaba'a hawaah; famasaluhoo kamasalil kalbi in tahmil 'alaihi yalhas aw tatruk hu yalhas; zaalika masalul qawmil lazeena kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa; faqsusil qasasa la'allahum yatafakkaroon

And hade We so Desired, We would have Raised him with these, but he adhered to the ground and followed his whims. So his example is like the dog, if you attack upon him he lolls out his tongue, or if you leave him, he lolls out his tongue. That is an example of the people who belied Our Signs, therefore relate the story, perhaps they would be pondering

سَآءَ مَثَلًا ٱلْقَوْمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا وَأَنفُسَهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يَظْلِمُونَ

Saaa'a masalanil qawmul lazeena kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa wa anfusahum kaanoo yazlimoon

Evil is the example of the people, those who belied Our Signs, and it was their own selves they were being unjust to

مَن يَهْدِ ٱللَّهُ فَهُوَ ٱلْمُهْتَدِى ۖ وَمَن يُضْلِلْ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَـٰسِرُونَ

Mai yahdil laahu fa huwal muhtadee wa mai yudlil fa ulaaa'ika humul khaasiroon

One whom Allah Guides, so he is the rightly Guided, and one whom He Lets to stray, so those ones, they are the losers

وَلَقَدْ ذَرَأْنَا لِجَهَنَّمَ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ ۖ لَهُمْ قُلُوبٌ لَّا يَفْقَهُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْيُنٌ لَّا يُبْصِرُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ ءَاذَانٌ لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَآ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ كَٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْغَـٰفِلُونَ

Wa laqad zara'naa li jahannama kaseeran minal jinni wal insi lahum quloobul laa yafqahoona bihaa wa lahum a'yunul laa yubisiroona bihaa wa lahum aazaanul laa yasma'oona bihaa; ulaaa'ika kal an'aami bal hum adall; ulaaa'ika humul ghaafiloon

And We have Created many of the Jinn and the human beings for Hell. For them are hearts they are not understanding with, and for them are eyes they are not seeing with, and for them are ears they are not hearing with. They are like the cattle, but they are more straying. These ones, they are the heedless ones

وَلِلَّهِ ٱلْأَسْمَآءُ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ فَٱدْعُوهُ بِهَا ۖ وَذَرُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ يُلْحِدُونَ فِىٓ أَسْمَـٰٓئِهِۦ ۚ سَيُجْزَوْنَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ

Wa lillaahil Asmaaa 'ul Husnaa fad'oohu bihaa wa zarul lazeena yulhidoona feee Asmaaa'ih; sa yujzawna maa kaanoo ya'maloon

And for Allah are the most Beautiful Names, therefore supplicate by these, and leave those who are distorting in His Names, they would be Recompensed for what they were doing

وَمِمَّنْ خَلَقْنَآ أُمَّةٌ يَهْدُونَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَبِهِۦ يَعْدِلُونَ

Wa mimman khalaqnaaa ummatuny yahdoona bilhaqqi wa bihee ya'diloon

And from the ones We Created a community Guiding with the Truth and by it they are dispensing justice

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُم مِّنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

Wallazeena kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa sanastadrijuhum min haisu laa ya'lamoon

And those who belied Our Signs, We Let them be gradually enticed from where they are not knowing

وَأُمْلِى لَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ كَيْدِى مَتِينٌ

Wa umlee lahum; inna kaidee mateen

And I Respite them. Surely, My Plan is Robust

أَوَلَمْ يَتَفَكَّرُوا۟ ۗ مَا بِصَاحِبِهِم مِّن جِنَّةٍ ۚ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ

Awalam yatafakkaroo maa bisaahibihim min jinnah; in huwa illaa nazeerun mubeen

Or are they not thinking that there is no insanity with their companion? Surely, he is only a clear warner

أَوَلَمْ يَنظُرُوا۟ فِى مَلَكُوتِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ مِن شَىْءٍ وَأَنْ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ قَدِ ٱقْتَرَبَ أَجَلُهُمْ ۖ فَبِأَىِّ حَدِيثٍۭ بَعْدَهُۥ يُؤْمِنُونَ

Awalam yanzuroo fee malakootis samaawaati wal ardi wa maa khalaqal laahu min shai'inw wa an 'asaaa ai yakoona qadiqtaraba ajaluhum fa bi ayyi hadeesin ba'dahoo yu'minoon

Are they not looking into the kingdoms of the skies and the earth and whatever Allah has Created of anything, and that perhaps it could be that their term is near? So which Hadeeth (Divine News) after it would they be believing in?

مَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَلَا هَادِىَ لَهُۥ ۚ وَيَذَرُهُمْ فِى طُغْيَـٰنِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ

Mai yudlil lillaahi falaa haadiya lah; wa yazaruhum fee tughyaanihim ya'mahoon

One whom Allah Lets to stray, so there is no Guide for him; and he Leave them in their inordinacy wandering around

يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَىٰهَا ۖ قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِندَ رَبِّى ۖ لَا يُجَلِّيهَا لِوَقْتِهَآ إِلَّا هُوَ ۚ ثَقُلَتْ فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ لَا تَأْتِيكُمْ إِلَّا بَغْتَةً ۗ يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ كَأَنَّكَ حَفِىٌّ عَنْهَا ۖ قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

Yas'aloonaka 'anis Saa'ati aiyaana mursaahaa qul innamaa 'ilmuhaa 'inda Rabbee laa yujalleehaa liwaqtihaaa illaa Hoo; saqulat fis samaawaati wal ard; laa ta'teekum illaa baghtah; yas'aloonaka ka annaka hafiyyun 'anhaa qul innamaa 'ilmuhaa 'indal laahi wa laakinna aksaran naasi laa ya'lamoon

They are asking you about the Hour, ‘When would it transpire?’ Say: ‘But rather, its knowledge is with my Lord. None can manifest its timing except Him. It would be heavy in the skies and the earth. It will not come to you except suddenly’. They are asking you as if you are eager about it. Say: ‘But rather, its knowledge is with Allah, but most of the people, they are not knowing

قُل لَّآ أَمْلِكُ لِنَفْسِى نَفْعًا وَلَا ضَرًّا إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ وَلَوْ كُنتُ أَعْلَمُ ٱلْغَيْبَ لَٱسْتَكْثَرْتُ مِنَ ٱلْخَيْرِ وَمَا مَسَّنِىَ ٱلسُّوٓءُ ۚ إِنْ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ وَبَشِيرٌ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ

Qul laaa amliku linafsee naf'anw wa laa darran illaa maa shaaa'al laah; wa law kuntu a'lamul ghaiba lastaksartu minal khairi wa maa massaniyas soo'; in ana illaa nazeerunw wa basheerul liqawminy yu'minoon

Say: ‘I neither control a benefit for myself nor a harm except what Allah so Desires to, and had I known the unseen, I would have abundance from the good and the evil would not touch me. Surely, I am only a warner and a giver of glad tidings for a believing people

۞ هُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُم مِّن نَّفْسٍ وَٰحِدَةٍ وَجَعَلَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا لِيَسْكُنَ إِلَيْهَا ۖ فَلَمَّا تَغَشَّىٰهَا حَمَلَتْ حَمْلًا خَفِيفًا فَمَرَّتْ بِهِۦ ۖ فَلَمَّآ أَثْقَلَت دَّعَوَا ٱللَّهَ رَبَّهُمَا لَئِنْ ءَاتَيْتَنَا صَـٰلِحًا لَّنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلشَّـٰكِرِينَ

Huwal lazee khalaqakum min nafsinw waahidatinw wa ja'ala minhaa zawjahaa liyas kuna ilaihaa falammaa taghash shaahaa hamalat hamlan khafeefan famarrat bihee falammaaa asqalad da'a wallaaha Rabbahumaa la'in aataitana saalihal lanakoonanna minash shaakireen

He is the One Who Created you all from one being and Made its pair from him in order for him to (go for) rest to her. So when she is covered, she bears a light burden, and she moves about with it. And when it grows heavy, they both supplicate to Allah their Lord, ‘If You Give us a righteous one, we would be from the grateful ones’

فَلَمَّآ ءَاتَىٰهُمَا صَـٰلِحًا جَعَلَا لَهُۥ شُرَكَآءَ فِيمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمَا ۚ فَتَعَـٰلَى ٱللَّهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

Falammaaa aataahumaa saalihan ja'alaa lahoo shurakaaa'a feemaaa aataahumaa; fata'aalal laahu 'ammaa yushrikoon

But when He Gives them a righteous one, they make associates to be for Him regarding what He Gave them; but Exalted is Allah from what they are associating

أَيُشْرِكُونَ مَا لَا يَخْلُقُ شَيْـًٔا وَهُمْ يُخْلَقُونَ

A yushrikoona maa laa yakhluqu shai'anw wa hum yukhlaqoon

Are they associating (with Him) what cannot create anything while they have been created?

وَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ لَهُمْ نَصْرًا وَلَآ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَنصُرُونَ

Wa laa yastatee'oona lahum nasranw wa laaa anfusahum yansuroon

And there is no ability for them to help nor can they help themselves

وَإِن تَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰ لَا يَتَّبِعُوكُمْ ۚ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ أَدَعَوْتُمُوهُمْ أَمْ أَنتُمْ صَـٰمِتُونَ

Wa in tad'oohum ilalhudaa laa yattabi'ookum; sawaaa'un 'alaikum a-da'awtumoohum 'am antum saamitoon

And if you invite them to the Guidance they will not follow you. It is the same upon you whether you invite them or you are silent

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ عِبَادٌ أَمْثَالُكُمْ ۖ فَٱدْعُوهُمْ فَلْيَسْتَجِيبُوا۟ لَكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ

Innal lazeena tad'oona min doonil laahi 'ibaadun amsaalukum fad'oohum fal yastajeeboo lakum in kuntum saadiqeen

Surely, those whom you are calling from besides Allah are servants like you all, therefore call them and let them answer you all if you were truthful

أَلَهُمْ أَرْجُلٌ يَمْشُونَ بِهَآ ۖ أَمْ لَهُمْ أَيْدٍ يَبْطِشُونَ بِهَآ ۖ أَمْ لَهُمْ أَعْيُنٌ يُبْصِرُونَ بِهَآ ۖ أَمْ لَهُمْ ءَاذَانٌ يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَا ۗ قُلِ ٱدْعُوا۟ شُرَكَآءَكُمْ ثُمَّ كِيدُونِ فَلَا تُنظِرُونِ

A lahum arjuluny yamshoona bihaa 'am lahum 'aidiny yabtishoona bihaaa 'am lahum a'yunuy yubsiroona bihaaa 'am lahum aazaanuny yasma'oona bihaa; qulid'oo shurakaaa'akum thumma keedooni falaa tunziroon

Are there feet for them to be walking with, or hands for them to be holding with, or ears for them to be hearing with? Say: ‘Call your associates, then plot (against me) and do not respite’

إِنَّ وَلِـِّۧىَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى نَزَّلَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ ۖ وَهُوَ يَتَوَلَّى ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ

Inna waliyyial laahul lazee nazzalal Kitaaba wa Huwa yatawallas saaliheen

Surely, my Guardian is Allah Who Revealed the Book, and He Befriends the righteous

وَٱلَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَكُمْ وَلَآ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَنصُرُونَ

Wallazeena tad'oona min doonihee laa yastatee'oona nasrakum wa laaa anfusahum yansuroon

And those you are calling from besides Him, they are not able to help you nor can they help themselves

وَإِن تَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰ لَا يَسْمَعُوا۟ ۖ وَتَرَىٰهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَيْكَ وَهُمْ لَا يُبْصِرُونَ

Wa in tad'oohum ilal hudaa laa yasma'oo wa taraahum yanzuroona ilaika wa hum laa yubsiroon

And even if you do invite them to Guidance, they will not be listening, and you will see them looking towards you and they are not seeing

خُذِ ٱلْعَفْوَ وَأْمُرْ بِٱلْعُرْفِ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ ٱلْجَـٰهِلِينَ

Khuzil 'afwa wa mur bil'urfi wa A'rid 'anil jaahileen

Take to the Forgiveness and enjoin good and turn away from the ignorant ones

وَإِمَّا يَنزَغَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ نَزْغٌ فَٱسْتَعِذْ بِٱللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ

Wa immaa yanzaghannaka minash Shaitaani nazghun fasta'iz billaah; innahoo Samee'un Aleem

And if an evil suggestion from the satan hurts you, then seek refuge with Allah, He is the Hearing, Knowing

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ إِذَا مَسَّهُمْ طَـٰٓئِفٌ مِّنَ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ تَذَكَّرُوا۟ فَإِذَا هُم مُّبْصِرُونَ

Innal lazeenat taqaw izaa massahum taaa'ifun minash Shaitaani tazakkaroo fa izaa hum mubsiroon

Surely, those who fear when an evil from the satan touches them, they are mindful, and then they are seeing

وَإِخْوَٰنُهُمْ يَمُدُّونَهُمْ فِى ٱلْغَىِّ ثُمَّ لَا يُقْصِرُونَ

Wa ikhwaanuhum yamuddoonahum fil ghayyi thumma laa yuqsiroon

And their brethren are extending them in the error, then they are not ceasing

وَإِذَا لَمْ تَأْتِهِم بِـَٔايَةٍ قَالُوا۟ لَوْلَا ٱجْتَبَيْتَهَا ۚ قُلْ إِنَّمَآ أَتَّبِعُ مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَىَّ مِن رَّبِّى ۚ هَـٰذَا بَصَآئِرُ مِن رَّبِّكُمْ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ

Wa izaa lam ta'tihim bi aayatin qaaloo law lajtabai tahaa; qul innamaaa attabi'u maa yoohaaa ilaiya mir Rabbee; haazaa basaaa'iru mir Rabbikum wa hudanw wa rahmatul liqawminy yu'minoon

And when you do not come to them with a Sign, they are saying, ‘Why did you not choose it?’ Say: ‘But rather, I follow whatever is Revealed unto me from my Lord. These are insights from your Lord, and a Guidance and a Mercy for a people who are believing

وَإِذَا قُرِئَ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ فَٱسْتَمِعُوا۟ لَهُۥ وَأَنصِتُوا۟ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ

Wa izaa quri'al Quraanu fastami'oo lahoo wa ansitoo la 'allakum turhamoon

And when the Quran is recited, then listen intently to it and be silent, perhaps you will be Shown Mercy

وَٱذْكُر رَّبَّكَ فِى نَفْسِكَ تَضَرُّعًا وَخِيفَةً وَدُونَ ٱلْجَهْرِ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْلِ بِٱلْغُدُوِّ وَٱلْـَٔاصَالِ وَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْغَـٰفِلِينَ

Wazkur Rabbaka fee nafsika tadarru'anw wa kheefatanw wa doonal jahri minal qawli bilghuduwwi wal aasali wa laa takum minal ghaafileen

And remember your Lord within yourself humbly and fearing and without the loudness from the words, in the morning and the evening, and do not become from the heedless ones

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ عِندَ رَبِّكَ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِهِۦ وَيُسَبِّحُونَهُۥ وَلَهُۥ يَسْجُدُونَ ۩

Innal lazeena 'inda Rabbika laa yastakbiroona 'an 'ibaadatihee wa yusabbihoonahoo wa lahoo yasjudoon

Surely those who are in the Presence of your Lord are not being arrogant from worshipping Him, and they are Glorifying Him, and to Him they are performing Sajdah
