Al-Qiyamah

لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ

Laaa uqsimu bi yawmil qiyaamah

No! I do swear by the Day of Al-Qiyama (Judgement)

وَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلنَّفْسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِ

Wa laaa uqsimu bin nafsil lawwaamah

And No! I do swear by the accusing self (rebuking) Naff (soul

أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَلَّن نَّجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُۥ

Ayahsabul insaanu al lan najm'a 'izaamah

Does the human being reckon We will never Gather his bones (again)?

بَلَىٰ قَـٰدِرِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّسَوِّىَ بَنَانَهُۥ

Balaa qaadireena 'alaaa an nusawwiya banaanah

Yes! We are able upon Completing (even) his fingertips

بَلْ يُرِيدُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُۥ

Bal yureedul insaanu liyafjura amaamah

But, the human being wants to undermine his Imam

يَسْـَٔلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ

Yas'alu ayyyaana yawmul qiyaamah

He asks, ‘When would be the Day of Judgement?

فَإِذَا بَرِقَ ٱلْبَصَرُ

Fa izaa bariqal basar

So, when the sight is dazzled

وَخَسَفَ ٱلْقَمَرُ

Wa khasafal qamar

And the moon is eclipsed

وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ

Wa jumi'ash shamsu wal qamar

And the sun and the moon are Gathered together

يَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ ٱلْمَفَرُّ

Yaqoolul insaanu yaw ma 'izin aynal mafarr

The human being would be saying on that Day, ‘Where is the escape?’

كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ

Kallaa laa wazar

No way! There is no refuge

إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمُسْتَقَرُّ

Ilaa rabbika yawma 'izinil mustaqarr

To your Lord would be the place of rest on that Day

يُنَبَّؤُا۟ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ

Yunabba 'ul insaanu yawma 'izim bimaa qaddama wa akhkhar

On that Day the human being shall be Given the news of what he had sent ahead, and delayed

بَلِ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ بَصِيرَةٌ

Balil insaanu 'alaa nafsihee baseerah

But! The human being is a witness against himself

وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ

Wa law alqaa ma'aazeerah

And even though he casts his excuses

لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِۦٓ

Laa tuharrik bihee lisaa naka lita'jala bih

Do not move your tongue with it in order to hasten with it

إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُۥ وَقُرْءَانَهُۥ

Inna 'alainaa jam'ahoo wa qur aanah

Surely, upon Us (Iimah) is its collection and its recitation

فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَـٰهُ فَٱتَّبِعْ قُرْءَانَهُۥ

Fa izaa qaraanaahu fattabi' qur aanah

So, when we (Iimah) recite it, then follow its recitation

ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُۥ

Summa inna 'alainaa bayaanah

Then surely, upon Us (Ullul Amir/Iimah) it is explanation

كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ

Kallaa bal tuhibboonal 'aajilah

Never! But you are loving the present (life)

وَتَذَرُونَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ

Wa tazaroonal Aakhirah

And leaving the Hereafter (for the world)

وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاضِرَةٌ

Wujoohuny yawma 'izin naadirah

(Some) faces on that Day would be radiant

إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ

Ilaa rabbihaa naazirah

Looking at their Rab (Imam)

وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بَاسِرَةٌ

Wa wujoohuny yawma 'izim baasirah

And (some) faces on that Day would be distorted

تَظُنُّ أَن يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌ

Tazunnu any yuf'ala bihaa faaqirah

You would think that something extraordinary has been done with these

كَلَّآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلتَّرَاقِىَ

Kallaaa izaa balaghatit taraaqee

Indeed! When it has already reached the morphosis (stage)

وَقِيلَ مَنْ ۜ رَاقٍ

Wa qeela man raaq

And it will be Said, ‘Who can cure?’

وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ ٱلْفِرَاقُ

Wa zanna annahul firaaq

And he would think it is the separation (from whome?)

وَٱلْتَفَّتِ ٱلسَّاقُ بِٱلسَّاقِ

Waltaffatis saaqu bissaaq

And the leg will turn with the leg

إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمَسَاقُ

Ilaa rabbika yawma'izinil masaaq

To your Lord on that day shall be the returning

فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ

Falaa saddaqa wa laa sallaa

So, he neither ratified nor did he send the Salawat

وَلَـٰكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ

Wa laakin kazzaba wa tawalla

But he belied and turned away

ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ يَتَمَطَّىٰٓ

Summa zahaba ilaaa ahlihee yatamatta

Then he went to his family swaggering (boasting)

أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰ

Awlaa laka fa awlaa

Closer to you, so closer

ثُمَّ أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰٓ

Summa awlaa laka fa awla

Then closer to you, so closer

أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى

Ayahsabul insaanu ai yutraka sudaa

Does the human being reckon that he would be left in vain?

أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةً مِّن مَّنِىٍّ يُمْنَىٰ

Alam yaku nutfatam mim maniyyiny yumnaa

Was he not a seed – (in a) fluid gushing out?

ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ

Summa kaana 'alaqatan fakhalaqa fasawwaa

Then he was a clot, so he was Created and Completed

فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ ٱلزَّوْجَيْنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ

Faja'ala minhuz zawjayniz zakara wal unsaa

Then He Made from it the pairs, the male and the female

أَلَيْسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَـٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحْـِۧىَ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ

Alaisa zaalika biqaadirin 'alaaa any yuhyiyal mawtaa

Isn’t that One Able upon Reviving the dead?
