Al-Buruj

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْبُرُوجِ

Wassamaaa'i zaatil burooj

(I Swear) by the sky with (holding) the constellations

وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْمَوْعُودِ

Wal yawmil maw'ood

And (I Swear by) the Promised Day

وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ

Wa shaahidinw wa mashhood

And (I Swear by) a witness and a witnessed

قُتِلَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْأُخْدُودِ

Qutila as haabul ukhdood

The companions of the pit will be killed

ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلْوَقُودِ

Annaari zaatil waqood

The fire will be fuelled with (Companions of the pit)

إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌ

Iz hum 'alaihaa qu'ood

When they sat by it (the fire)

وَهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌ

Wa hum 'alaa maa yaf'aloona bilmu 'mineena shuhood

And they were witnesses upon what they were doing to the Momineen (companions of pit)

وَمَا نَقَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَمِيدِ

Wa maa naqamoo minhum illaaa aiyu'minoo billaahil 'azeezil Hameed

And they persecuted them (Momineen) only due to their believing in Allah, the mighty, the Praised

ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ شَهِيدٌ

Allazee lahoo mulkus samaawaati wal ard; wallaahu 'alaa kulli shai 'in Shaheed

For Him (alone) is the Kingdom of the skies and the earth, and Allah is a Witness upon all things

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا۟ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا۟ فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ ٱلْحَرِيقِ

Innal lazeena fatanul mu'mineena wal mu'minaati summa lam yatooboo falahum 'azaabu Jahannama wa lahum 'azaabul hareeq

Surely, those who persecute the Momineen and the Mominaat, then they do not repent, so for them would be Punishment of Hell, and for them would be Punishment of the burning

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّـٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْكَبِيرُ

Innal lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati lahum Jannaatun tajree min tahtihal anhaar; zaalikal fawzul kabeer

Surely, those who believe and do righteous deeds, for them would be Gardens, then rivers flowing from beneath these. That is the mighty success

إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ

Inna batsha Rabbika lashadeed

Surely, the Grip of your Lord is Strong

إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ

Innahoo Huwa yubdi'u wa yu'eed

Surely, He Begins and He Repeats

وَهُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلْوَدُودُ

Wa Huwal Ghafoorul Wadood

And He is the Forgiving, the Loving

ذُو ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْمَجِيدُ

Zul 'Arshil Majeed

Possessor of the Throne, the Glorious

فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ

Fa' 'aalul limaa yureed

The Great Accomplisher of whatever He Wants

هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْجُنُودِ

Hal ataaka hadeesul junood

Has not there come to you the Hadeeth (narration) of the armies

فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَ

Fir'awna wa Samood

Of Pharaoh and Samood?

بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِى تَكْذِيبٍ

Balil lazeena kafaroo fee takzeeb

But, those who commit Kufr are (in fact) in belying

وَٱللَّهُ مِن وَرَآئِهِم مُّحِيطٌۢ

Wallaahu minw waraaa'ihim muheet

And Allah Encompasses them from behind (without them realising)

بَلْ هُوَ قُرْءَانٌ مَّجِيدٌ

Bal huwa Quraanum Majeed

But! It is a Glorious Quran

فِى لَوْحٍ مَّحْفُوظٍۭ

Fee Lawhim Mahfooz

(Preserved) In a Guarded Tablet
