Imam Zain ul Abadeen-asws’s Supplication for Children:
(25) وَ كَانَ مِنْ دُعَائِهِ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ لِوُلْدِهِ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ
اللَّهُمَّ وَ مُنَّ عَلَيَّ بِبَقَاءِ وُلْدِي وَ بِإِصْلَاحِهِمْ لِي و بِإِمْتَاعِي بِهِمْ .
- O Allah-azwj! Bestow upon me the survival of my children and by Correcting them for me, and by my enjoying with them.
إِلَهِي امْدُدْ لِي فِي أَعْمَارِهِمْ ، وَ زِدْ لِي فِي آجَالِهِمْ ، وَ رَبِّ لِي صَغِيرَهُمْ ، وَ قَوِّ لِي ضَعِيفَهُمْ ، وَ أَصِحَّ لِي أَبْدَانَهُمْ وَ أَدْيَانَهُمْ وَ أَخْلَاقَهُمْ ، وَ عَافِهِمْ فِي أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَ فِي جَوَارِحِهِمْ وَ فِي كُلِّ مَا عُنِيتُ بِهِ مِنْ أَمْرِهِمْ ، وَ أَدْرِرْ لِي وَ عَلَى يَدِي أَرْزَاقَهُمْ .
- My Allah-azwj! Extend their lives for me, and Increase in their terms for me, and Nourish their young ones for me, and Strengthen their weak ones for me, and Rectify their bodies for me and their religions and their morals, and Make them healthy within themselves, and their limbs, and all what I am concerned with from their affairs, and Cause their sustenance to flow for me upon my hands.
وَ اجْعَلْهُمْ أَبْرَاراً أَتْقِيَاءَ بُصَرَاءَ سَامِعِينَ مُطِيعِينَ لَكَ ، وَ لِأَوْلِيَائِكَ مُحِبِّينَ مُنَاصِحِينَ ، وَ لِجَمِيعِ أَعْدَائِكَ مُعَانِدِينَ وَ مُبْغِضِينَ ، آمِينَ .
- And Make them to be righteous, pious, insightful, hearing, obedient to You-azwj, and towards Your-azwj friends, loving and well-disposed, and towards the entirety of Your-azwj enemies, stubborn, hateful. Ameen.
اللَّهُمَّ اشْدُدْ بِهِمْ عَضُدِي ، وَ أَقِمْ بِهِمْ أَوَدِي ، وَ كَثِّرْ بِهِمْ عَدَدِي ، وَ زَيِّنْ بِهِمْ مَحْضَرِي ، وَ أَحْيِ بِهِمْ ذِكْرِي ، وَ اكْفِنِي بِهِمْ فِي غَيْبَتِي ، وَ أَعِنِّي بِهِمْ عَلَى حَاجَتِي ، وَ اجْعَلْهُمْ لِي مُحِبِّينَ ، وَ عَلَيَّ حَدِبِينَ مُقْبِلِينَ مُسْتَقِيمِينَ لِي ، مُطِيعِينَ ، غَيْرَ عَاصِينَ وَ لَا عَاقِّينَ وَ لَا مُخَالِفِينَ وَ لَا خَاطِئِينَ .
- O Allah-azwj! Strengthened my arm through them, and Straigthen my back through them, and Multiply my number through them, and Adorn my presence through them, and revive my mention through them, and Suffice me through them during my absence, and Assist me upon my needs through them, and Make them loving me, and upon me affectionate, accepting, upright towards me, obedient, without disobedience, nor disloyal, nor opposing, nor offensive.
وَ أَعِنِّي عَلَى تَرْبِيَتِهِمْ وَ تَأْدِيبِهِمْ ، وَ بِرِّهِمْ ، وَ هَبْ لِي مِنْ لَدُنْكَ مَعَهُمْ أَوْلَاداً ذُكُوراً ، وَ اجْعَلْ ذَلِكَ خَيْراً لِي ، وَ اجْعَلْهُمْ لِي عَوْناً عَلَى مَا سَأَلْتُكَ .
- And Assist me upon their upbringing and their education, and their righteousness, and Gift to me from Yourself-azwj male children with them, and Make that to be good for me, and Make them supporters to me upon what I ask You-azwj.
وَ أَعِذْنِي وَ ذُرِّيَّتِي مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ ، فَإِنَّكَ خَلَقْتَنَا وَ أَمَرْتَنَا وَ نَهَيْتَنَا وَ رَغَّبْتَنَا فِي ثَوَابِ مَا أَمَرْتَنَا وَ رَهَّبْتَنَا عِقَابَهُ ،
- And Shelter me and my offspring from the Pelted Satan-la, for You-azwj have Created us, and Commanded us, and Forbidden us, and Made us to be desirous regarding Rewards of what You-azwj have Commanded us, and fearful of its Punishment.
وَ جَعَلْتَ لَنَا عَدُوّاً يَكِيدُنَا ، سَلَّطْتَهُ مِنَّا عَلَى مَا لَمْ تُسَلِّطْنَا عَلَيْهِ مِنْهُ ، أَسْكَنْتَهُ صُدُورَنَا ، وَ أَجْرَيْتَهُ مَجَارِيَ دِمَائِنَا ، لَا يَغْفُلُ إِنْ غَفَلْنَا ، وَ لَا يَنْسَى إِنْ نَسِينَا ، يُؤْمِنُنَا عِقَابَكَ ، وَ يُخَوِّفُنَا بِغَيْرِكَ .
And You-azwj Made for us an enemy plotting against us, Letting him-la overcome from us upon what You-azwj did not let us to be overcome upon from him-la, Letting him-la dwell in our chests, and flowing the flow of our blood. He-la is not heedless if we are heedless, nor does he-la forget if we forget, (and he-la) making us feel secure from Your-azwj Punishment, (and he-la) making us fear other than You-azwj.
إِنْ هَمَمْنَا بِفَاحِشَةٍ شَجَّعَنَا عَلَيْهَا ، وَ إِنْ هَمَمْنَا بِعَمَلٍ صَالِحٍ ثَبَّطَنَا عَنْهُ ، يَتَعَرَّضُ لَنَا بِالشَّهَوَاتِ ، وَ يَنْصِبُ لَنَا بِالشُّبُهَاتِ ، إِنْ وَعَدَنَا كَذَبَنَا ، وَ إِنْ مَنَّانَا أَخْلَفَنَا ، وَ إِلَّا تَصْرِفْ عَنَّا كَيْدَهُ يُضِلَّنَا ، وَ إِلَّا تَقِنَا خَبَالَهُ يَسْتَزِلَّنَا .
- If we think of commiting an immorality, he-la encourages us upon it, and if we think of performing a righteous deed, he-la affirms us away from it, and he-la exposes us to the lustful desires, and installs the doubts for us. If he-la promises us, he-la belies us, and if he-la raises our hopes, he-la opposes us.
If You-azwj don’t Turn his-la plots away from us, he-la strays us, and if You-azwj don’t save us from his-la confusion, he-la would make us slip.
اللَّهُمَّ فَاقْهَرْ سُلْطَانَهُ عَنَّا بِسُلْطَانِكَ حَتَّى تَحْبِسَهُ عَنَّا بِكَثْرَةِ الدُّعَاءِ لَكَ فَنُصْبِحَ مِنْ كَيْدِهِ فِي الْمَعْصُومِينَ بِكَ .
- O Allah-azwj! Vanquish his-la authority from us by Your-azwj Authority until You-azwj Withhold him-la from us by the frequency of the supplications to You-azwj, so we can become to be among the protected ones from his-la plots by You-azwj.
اللَّهُمَّ أَعْطِنِي كُلَّ سُؤْلِي ، وَ اقْضِ لِي حَوَائِجِي ، وَ لَا تَمْنَعْنِي الْإِجَابَةَ وَ قَدْ ضَمِنْتَهَا لِي ، وَ لَا تَحْجُبْ دُعَائِي عَنْكَ وَ قَدْ أَمَرْتَنِي بِهِ ،
- O Allah-azwj Grant me my every request, and Fulfil my needs for me, and do not Prevent the Answering from me, and You-azwj have Granted for me, and do not Block my supplication from You-azwj, and You-azwj have Commanded me with making it.
وَ امْنُنْ عَلَيَّ بِكُلِّ مَا يُصْلِحُنِي فِي دُنْيَايَ وَ آخِرَتِي مَا ذَكَرْتُ مِنْهُ وَ مَا نَسِيتُ ، أَوْ أَظْهَرْتُ أَوْ أَخْفَيْتُ أَوْ أَعْلَنْتُ أَوْ أَسْرَرْتُ .
And Confer upon me with all what would correct me in my world and my Hereafter, what I have mentioned from it, and what I have forgotten, or manifested, or hidden, or announced or kept private.
وَ اجْعَلْنِي فِي جَمِيعِ ذَلِكَ مِنَ الْمُصْلِحِينَ بِسُؤَالِي إِيَّاكَ ، الْمُنْجِحِينَ بِالطَّلَبِ إِلَيْكَ غَيْرِ الْمَمْنُوعِينَ بِالتَّوَكُّلِ عَلَيْكَ .
- And make me, in the entirety of that, to be from the corrected ones due to my asking You-azwj, and the successful ones due to the seeking from You-azwj, and from whom is not withheld when they put trust in You-azwj.
الْمُعَوَّدِينَ بِالتَّعَوُّذِ بِكَ ، الرَّابِحِينَ فِي التِّجَارَةِ عَلَيْكَ ، الْمُجَارِينَ بِعِزِّكَ ، الْمُوَسَّعِ عَلَيْهِمُ الرِّزْقُ الْحَلَالُ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ ، الْوَاسِعِ بِجُودِكَ وَ كَرَمِكَ ، الْمُعَزِّينَ مِنَ الذُّلِّ بِكَ ،
- The ones accustomed with seeking Refuge with You-azwj, and the profiteers in the trading with You-azwj, the ones Sheltered by Your-azwj Mighty, and the ones lawful sustenance has been Extended upon from Your-azwj Grace, the Vast due to Your-azwj Generosity and Benevolence, and the ones becoming honourable from the disgrace due to You-azwj.
وَ الْمُجَارِينَ مِنَ الظُّلْمِ بِعَدْلِكَ ، وَ الْمُعَافَيْنَ مِنَ الْبَلَاءِ بِرَحْمَتِكَ ، وَ الْمُغْنَيْنَ مِنَ الْفَقْرِ بِغِنَاكَ ، وَ الْمَعْصُومِينَ مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ وَ الزَّلَلِ وَ الْخَطَاءِ بِتَقْوَاكَ ،
And the refugees from the injustice with Your-azwj Justice, and ones excused from the afflictions due to Your-azwj Mercy, and the ones enriched from the poverty by Your-azwj Riches, and the ones protected from the sins and the slips and the mistakes by having Your-azwj fear.
وَ الْمُوَفَّقِينَ لِلْخَيْرِ وَ الرُّشْدِ وَ الصَّوَابِ بِطَاعَتِكَ ، وَ الْمُحَالِ بَيْنَهُمْ وَ بَيْنَ الذُّنُوبِ بِقُدْرَتِكَ ، التَّارِكِينَ لِكُلِّ مَعْصِيَتِكَ ، السَّاكِنِينَ فِي جِوَارِكَ .
And the ones concordant to the goodness, and the rightful guidance, and the correctness with being obedient to You-azwj, and the ones walled off from sins due to Your-azwj Power, and neglecters of every act of disobedience, and dwellers in Your-azwj Vicinity.
اللَّهُمَّ أَعْطِنَا جَمِيعَ ذَلِكَ بِتَوْفِيقِكَ وَ رَحْمَتِكَ ، وَ أَعِذْنَا مِنْ عَذَابِ السَّعِيرِ ، وَ أَعْطِ جَمِيعَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَ الْمُسْلِمَاتِ وَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ مِثْلَ الَّذِي سَأَلْتُكَ لِنَفْسِي وَ لِوُلْدِي فِي عَاجِلِ الدُّنْيَا وَ آجِلِ الْآخِرَةِ ، إِنَّكَ قَرِيبٌ مُجِيبٌ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ عَفُوٌّ غَفُورٌ رَءُوفٌ رَحِيمٌ .
- O Allah-azwj! Give us the entirety of that with Your-azwj Inclination, and Your-azwj Mercy, and Shelter us from Punishment of the Blazing Fire, and Give to the entirety of the Muslim men and Muslim women, and the believing men and the believing women, similar to that which I ask You-azwj for myself and for my children, and current era of the world and the deferred era of the Hereafter, You-azwj are Near-by, Hearing, Knowing, Pardoning, Forgiving, Kind, Merciful.
وَ آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً ، وَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَ قِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ .
- And Give us good in the world, and good in the Hereafter, and Save us from the Punishment of the Fire’(2:201).[1]
