Submit to Islam
ثُمَّ دَعَا بِكِتَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص الَّذِي بَعَثَ بِهِ دِحْيَةَ إِلَى عَظِيمِ بُصْرَى فَدَفَعَهُ إِلَى هِرَقْلَ فَقَرَأَهُ فَإِذَا فِيهِ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ مِنْ مُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ عَبْدِهِ وَ رَسُولِهِ إِلَى هِرَقْلَ عَظِيمِ الرُّومِ وَ سَلَامٌ عَلى مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الْهُدى أَمَّا بَعْدُ فَإِنِّي أَدْعُوكَ بِدِعَايَةِ الْإِسْلَامِ أَسْلِمْ تَسْلَمْ أَسْلِمْ يُؤْتِكَ اللَّهُ أَجْرَكَ مَرَّتَيْنِ فَإِنْ تَوَلَّيْتَ فَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ إِثْمَ الْيَرِيسِينَ
Then he called for the letter of Rasool-Allah-saww, the one sent with Dahiya to the governor of Busra, and handed it over Hercules, and therein was: ‘In the Name of Allah-saww the Beneficent, the Merciful. From Muhammad-saww Rasool-Allah-saww, His-saww servant and His-saww Rasool-saww, to Hercules, great one of Rome. and the greetings be upon one who follows the Guidance [20:47]. As for after, I-saww hereby call you with an invitation of Al-Islam. Become a Muslim and submit, you will be safe, Allah-saww will Give you your Recompense twice. If you turn around, then upon you is the sins of the posterity (an extract)’.[1]
فَرَكِبَ أَبُو سُفْيَانَ خَلْفَهُ فَانْصَرَفَ عِكْرِمَةُ إِلَى مَكَّةَ فَصَارَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص فَقَالَ الْعَبَّاسُ هَذَا أَبُو سُفْيَانَ صَارَ مَعِي إِلَيْكَ فَتُؤْمِنُهُ بِسَبَبِي فَقَالَ ص أَسْلِمْ تَسْلَمْ يَا أَبَا سُفْيَانَ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ مَا أَكْرَمَكَ وَ أَحْلَمَكَ قَالَ أَسْلِمْ تَسْلَمْ قَالَ مَا أَكْرَمَكَ وَ أَحْلَمَكَ قَالَ أَسْلِمْ تَسْلَمْ (When Makkah was conquered) So, Abu Sufyan rode behind him and Ikrimah left to go to Makkah. He came to Rasool-Allah-saww and Al-Abbas said, ‘This is Abu Sufyan who has come with me to you-saww, so grant him safety due to my reason’. He-saww said: ‘Become a Muslim you will be safe, O Abu Sufyan’. He said, ‘O Abu Al-Qasim-saww! How (much) is your-saww honour and your-saww forbearance’. He-saww said:’ Became a Muslims you will be safe’. He said, ‘How (much) is your-saww honour and your-saww forbearance’. He-saww said: ‘Become a Muslims you will be safe… (an extract).[2]
