House of Security, the Paradise, Hereafter
Amir Al-Momineen-asws said in a sermon after the Battle of Siffeen (Nahj Al Balagah):
مَا ضَرَّ إِخْوَانَنَا الَّذِينَ سُفِكَتْ دِمَاؤُهُمْ وَ هُمْ بِصِفِّينَ أَنْ لَا يَكُونُوا الْيَوْمَ أَحْيَاءً يُسِيغُونَ الْغُصَصَ، وَ يَشْرَبُونَ الرَّنْقَ، قَدْ وَ اللَّهِ لَقُوا اللَّهَ فَوَفَّاهُمْ أُجُورَهُمْ، وَ أَحَلَّهُمْ دَارَ الْأَمْنِ بَعْدَ خَوْفِهِمْ
It did not harm our brother, those who shed their blood while they were at Siffeen that they do not happen to be alive today, choking on the morsel and drinking the muddy (water). By Allah-azwj! They have met Allah-azwj and have been Fulfilled their Rewards, and ‘دَارَ الْأَمْنِ ’ the house of security had been legalised for them after their fear.
أَيْنَ إِخْوَانِيَ الَّذِينَ رَكِبُوا الطَّرِيقَ وَ مَضَوْا عَلَى الْحَقِّ؟ أَيْنَ عَمَّارٌ؟ وَ أَيْنَ ابْنُ التَّيِّهَانِ؟ وَ أَيْنَ ذُو الشَّهَادَتَيْنِ؟ وَ أَيْنَ نُظَرَاؤُهُمْ مِنْ إِخْوَانِهِمُ الَّذِينَ تَعَاقَدُوا عَلَى الْمَنِيَّةِ، وَ أُبْرِدَ بِرُءُوسِهِمْ إِلَى الْفَجَرَةِ؟
Where are my-asws brothers, those who rode the path and went upon the truth? Where is Ammar-ra? And where is Ibn Al-Tayhan? And where is Zul Shadatayn (Khuzeyma)? And where are their peers from their brethren, those who made a pact upon the death and they (enemies) went with their heads to the tyrants?
قَالَ [نَوْفٌ:] ثُمَّ ضَرَبَ يَدَهُ إِلَى لِحْيَتِهِ وَ أَطَالَ الْبُكَاءَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ: أَوِّهْ عَلَى إِخْوَانِيَ الَّذِينَ تَلَوُا الْقُرْآنَ فَأَحْكَمُوهُ! وَ تَدَبَّرُوا الْفَرْضَ فَأَقَامُوهُ! وَ أَحْيَوُا السُّنَّةَ وَ أَمَاتُوا الْبِدْعَةَ، دُعُوا لِلْجِهَادِ فَأَجَابُوا، وَ وَثِقُوا بِالْقَائِدِ فَاتَّبَعُوا
Nowf said, ‘Then he-asws struck his-asws hand to his-asws beard and prolonged the weeping. Then he-asws said: ‘Aah upon my-asws brothers, the ones who recited the Quran and sought its judgment! And they pondered the Obligations and established it! And they revived the Sunnah and killed off the innovations! They were called to the Jihad and they answered, and they trusted the leader and followed… (an extract).[1]
