Ghaflah (غفلة, الْغَفْلَةِ)

The Heedlessness

(Imam Ali-asws Ibn Abi Talib-asws said in a sermon) O you people! Wake up from the slumber of ‘الْغَفْلَةِ’ heedlessness, and from the intensifying darkness. By the One-azwj Who Split the seed and Formed the person and Degraded with the Magnificence! Even if one party from you were to stand to me with clean hearts and sincere intentions, not having any signs of hypocrisy in it, nor any intention to separate, I-asws would fight with the sword, foot by foot forward, and I-asws shall be placing the swords to their sides, and from the spears to their ends, and from the horses to their knees. So, speak, may Allah-azwj have Mercy on you all’ (an extract).[1]
