Migration of Rasool Allah-saww from Makkah to Madinah
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ تَوَفَّاهُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ ظَالِمِي أَنْفُسِهِمْ قَالُوا فِيمَ كُنْتُمْ ۖ قَالُوا كُنَّا مُسْتَضْعَفِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ ۚ قَالُوا أَلَمْ تَكُنْ أَرْضُ اللَّهِ وَاسِعَةً فَتُهَاجِرُوا فِيهَا ۚ فَأُولَٰئِكَ مَأْوَاهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ ۖ وَسَاءَتْ مَصِيرًا {97}
Those whom the Angels cause to die while they are being unjust to themselves, they are saying, ‘In which state were you?’ They are saying, ‘We were weak in the earth’. They are saying, ‘Did not the earth of Allah happen to be capacious, so you could have emigrated therein?’ So they, their abode is Hell, and it is an evil fate [4:97]
(Ali Bin Ibrahim) said, ‘And in a report of Abu Al-Jaroud,
Abu Ja’far-asws regarding His-azwj Words O My servants those who believe! Surely My earth is capacious [29:56]: ‘He-azwj is Saying ‘Do not obey the mischievous people from the kings. So if you fear them that they would be trying you from your Religion, then My-azwj earth is capacious.
And He-azwj is Saying ‘In which state were you?’ They are saying, ‘We were weak in the earth’. They are saying, ‘Did not the earth of Allah happen to be capacious, so you could have emigrated therein?’ [4:97].Then Said Every soul must taste the death [29:57] i.e., be patient upon the obedience to Allah-azwj, so it is to Him-azwj you shall be returning’.[1]
Ali Bin Ibrahim said, ‘And in a report of Ibn Jaroud,
Abu Ja’far-asws, regarding the Words of the Exalted: And We Made a barrier to be from their front and a barrier from their back, and We Covered them [36:9], he-asws said: ‘As for their blindness, they could not see the Guidance. Allah-azwj Took out their hearing and their eyesight and their hearts and blinded them from the Guidance. This was Revealed regarding Abu Jahl Bin Hissham and a number from his household, and that the Prophet-saww was standing during Salat.
Abu Jahl had taken a vow that if he were to see him-saww in Salat he would go and stone him-saww. He came and had a stone with him and the Prophet-saww was standing in Salat. He lifted the stone so that he could stone him-saww, but Allah-azwj Froze his hand to his neck, and he could not throw the stone with his hand. When he returned to his companions, the stone fell down from his hand.
Then another man stood up, and he was from among his clan as well and said, ‘I will kill him-saww.’ When he went from them, but when he heard the recitation of Rasool-Allah-saww he was petrified. He returned to his companions and said, ‘The situation between me and him-saww was that I was afraid of being caught out and so I was scared to advance towards him-saww.’
And His-azwj Words: And it is the same upon them, whether you warn them or do not warn them, they will not believe [36:10], he-aswssaid, ‘Not a single one of the clan of Makhzum from that group would have believed’.[2]
