The Day of Friday – Friday Salat
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا نُودِيَ لِلصَّلَاةِ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ فَاسْعَوْا إِلَىٰ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ وَذَرُوا الْبَيْعَ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ {9}
O you those who believe! When there is a call for the Salat on ‘يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ ’ the day of Friday, then hasten to the Zikr of Allah and leave the selling. That would be better for you, if you only knew [62:9]
علي بن إبراهيم، قال: في رواية أبي الجارود، عن أبي جعفر (عليه السلام)، في قوله تعالى: «يا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذا نُودِيَ لِلصَّلاةِ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ فَاسْعَوْا إِلى ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ وَ ذَرُوا الْبَيْعَ، يقول: اسعوا [أي] امضوا، و يقول: اسعوا أي اعملوا لها، و هو قص الشارب، و نتف الإبطين، و تقليم الأظفار، و الغسل، و لبس أنظف الثياب ، و تطيب للجمعة
Ali Bin Ibrahim said,
And in a report of Abu Al-Jaroud, from Abu Ja’far-asws regarding the Words of the Exalted: O you those who believe! When there is a call for the Salat on the day of Friday, then hasten to the Zikr of Allah and leave the selling. [62:9], he-asws said: ‘He-azwj is Saying: “Hasten”, i.e. Be determined, and He-azwj is Saying: “Hasten”, i.e. word for these – and it is the trimming of the moustache, and plucking (hair) from the armpits, clipping the nails, and the washing (shower), and wearing the clean clothes, and applying the perfume for the Friday’.[1]
