Who Hold Animosity
Yusuf ibn Muhammad ibn Ziyad and Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Sayyar narrated to us, from their fathers, from al-Hasan ibn Ali al-Askari, from his father Ali ibn Muhammad, from his father
Muhammad Ibn Ali Al-Jawad-asws (peace be upon him), who said: ‘When Al-Ma’mun made my father-asws his heir apparent, the sky withheld its rain in that year – and some of al-Ma’mun’s followers and those ‘الْمُتَعَصِّبُونَ’ biased against Ali Al-Reza-asws (said): ‘Look at what came to us from Ali-asws Ibn Musa-asws, who became our heir, and withheld rain from us’. The news reached Al-Ma’mun, it intensified against him, and it grew severe, so he said to Al-Reza-asws: ‘The rain has been withheld from us, so why don’t you call upon Allah-azwj to make it rain for the people.[1]
