Walking Stick Advantages

Some Ahadith are presented on the advantages of walking stick:

ูˆูŽ ู‚ูŽุงู„ูŽ ุน ู‚ูŽุงู„ูŽ ุฑูŽุณููˆู„ู ุงู„ู„ู‘ูŽู‡ู ุตโ€ ุญูŽู…ู’ู„ู ุงู„ู’ุนูŽุตูŽุง ูŠูŽู†ู’ูููŠ ุงู„ู’ููŽู‚ู’ุฑูŽ ูˆูŽ ู„ูŽุง ูŠูุฌูŽุงูˆูุฑูู‡ู ุดูŽูŠู’ุทูŽุงู†ูŒ.

And he-asws said: โ€˜Rasool-Allah-saww said: โ€˜Carrying the walking stick negates the poverty and Satan-la will not be in his vicinityโ€™โ€™.[1]

ูˆูŽ ุนูŽู†ู’ู‡ู ุน ู‚ูŽุงู„ูŽ ู‚ูŽุงู„ูŽ ุฑูŽุณููˆู„ู ุงู„ู„ู‘ูŽู‡ู ุตโ€ ุญูŽู…ู’ู„ู ุงู„ู’ุนูŽุตูŽุง ุนูŽู„ูŽุงู…ูŽุฉู ุงู„ู’ู…ูุคู’ู…ูู†ู ูˆูŽ ุณูู†ู‘ูŽุฉู ุงู„ู’ุฃูŽู†ู’ุจููŠูŽุงุกู

And from him (Anas the well known fabricator), said,

โ€˜Rasool-Allah-saww said: โ€˜Carrying the walking stick is a sign of the Momin and a Sunnah of the Prophets-asโ€™โ€™.[2]

ูˆูŽ ู‚ูŽุงู„ูŽ ู…ูŽู†ู’ ุฃูŽุฑูŽุงุฏูŽ ุฃูŽู†ู’ ุชูุทู’ูˆูŽู‰ ู„ูŽู‡ู ุงู„ู’ุฃูŽุฑู’ุถู ููŽู„ู’ูŠูŽุชู‘ูŽุฎูุฐู ุงู„ู†ู‘ูู‚ูุฏูŽ ู…ูู†ูŽ ุงู„ู’ุนูŽุตูŽุง

And he-saww said: โ€˜One who wants the ground to fold for him (his journey to pass quickly), let him take the stick of bitter almondโ€™โ€™.[3]

ูˆูŽ ู‚ูŽุงู„ูŽ ุนโ€ ู…ูŽู†ู’ ุฃูŽุฑูŽุงุฏูŽ ุฃูŽู†ู’ ุชูุทู’ูˆูŽู‰ ู„ูŽู‡ู ุงู„ู’ุฃูŽุฑู’ุถู ููŽู„ู’ูŠูŽุชู‘ูŽุฎูุฐู ุงู„ู†ู‘ูู‚ูุฏูŽ ู…ูู†ูŽ ุงู„ู’ุนูŽุตูŽุง ูˆูŽ ุงู„ู†ู‘ูู‚ูุฏู ุนูŽุตูŽุง ู„ูŽูˆู’ุฒู ู…ูุฑู‘ู

And he-asws said: โ€˜One who wants the ground to fold for him (quick journey), let him take โ€˜Al-Naqdโ€™ from the walking sticks, and โ€˜Al-Naqdโ€™ from the walking stick is the bitter almondโ€™โ€™.[4]

(The book) โ€˜Sawaab Al Amaalโ€™ โ€“ from Ibn Idrees, from his father, from Al Ashari, from Ibn Hashim, from Abdul Jabbar and Ismail and Al Rayyan altogether, from Yunus,

โ€˜From a number of companions of Abu Abdullah-asws, he-asws said: โ€˜My-asws father-asws narrated to me-asws, from his-asws forefathers-asws, from Amir Al-Momineen-asws that Rasool-Allah-saww said:

ู…ูŽู†ู’ ุฎูŽุฑูŽุฌูŽ ูููŠ ุณูŽููŽุฑู ูˆูŽ ู…ูŽุนูŽู‡ู ุนูŽุตูŽุง ู„ูŽูˆู’ุฒู ู…ูุฑู‘ู ูˆูŽ ุชูŽู„ูŽุง ู‡ูŽุฐูู‡ู ุงู„ู’ุขูŠูŽุฉูŽ- ูˆูŽ ู„ูŽู…ู‘ูŽุง ุชูŽูˆูŽุฌู‘ูŽู‡ูŽ ุชูู„ู’ู‚ุงุกูŽ ู…ูŽุฏู’ูŠูŽู†ูŽโ€ ุฅูู„ูŽู‰ ู‚ูŽูˆู’ู„ูู‡ูโ€ ูˆูŽ ุงู„ู„ู‘ูŽู‡ู ุนูŽู„ู‰โ€ ู…ุง ู†ูŽู‚ููˆู„ู ูˆูŽูƒููŠู„ูŒโ€ ุขู…ูŽู†ูŽู‡ู ุงู„ู„ู‘ูŽู‡ู ู…ูู†ู’ ูƒูู„ู‘ู ุณูŽุจูุนูโ€ ุถูŽุงุฑู ูˆูŽ ูƒูู„ู‘ู ู„ูุตู‘ู ุนูŽุงุฏู ูˆูŽ ูƒูู„ู‘ู ุฐูŽุงุชู ุญูู…ูŽุฉู ุญูŽุชู‘ูŽู‰ ูŠูŽุฑู’ุฌูุนูŽ ุฅูู„ูŽู‰ ุฃูŽู‡ู’ู„ูู‡ู ูˆูŽ ู…ูŽู†ู’ุฒูู„ูู‡ู ูˆูŽ ูƒูŽุงู†ูŽ ู…ูŽุนูŽู‡ู ุณูŽุจู’ุนูŽุฉูŒ ูˆูŽ ุณูŽุจู’ุนููˆู†ูŽ ู…ูู†ูŽ ุงู„ู’ู…ูุนูŽู‚ู‘ูุจูŽุงุชู ูˆูŽ ูŠูŽุณู’ุชูŽุบู’ููุฑููˆู†ูŽ ู„ูŽู‡ู ุญูŽุชู‘ูŽู‰ ูŠูŽุฑู’ุฌูุนูŽ ูˆูŽ ูŠูŽุถูŽุนูŽู‡ูŽุง.

โ€˜One who goes out in a journey and with him is a stick of bitter almond, and he recites this Verse: And when he headed towards Madyan, [28:22] โ€“ up to His-azwj Words: and Allah is a Witness upon what we are saying [28:28], Allah-azwj will Secure him from every harmful wild animal, and every returning thief, and all with a sting, until he returns to his family and his house, and there will be seventy-seven from the successive Angels and they will be seeking Forgiveness for him until he return and places it downโ€™โ€™.[5]

ุนูŽู†ู’ ุฃูู…ู‘ู ุณูŽู„ูŽู…ูŽุฉูŽ ู‚ูŽุงู„ูŽุชู’ ู‚ูŽุงู„ูŽ ุฑูŽุณููˆู„ู ุงู„ู„ู‘ูŽู‡ู ุตโ€ ุงู„ู’ู…ูŽุดู’ูŠู ู…ูŽุนูŽ ุงู„ู’ุนูŽุตูŽุง ู…ูู†ูŽ ุงู„ุชู‘ูŽูˆูŽุงุถูุนู ูˆูŽ ูŠููƒู’ุชูŽุจู ู„ูŽู‡ู ุจููƒูู„ู‘ู ุฎูุทู’ูˆูŽุฉู ุฃูŽู„ู’ูู ุญูŽุณูŽู†ูŽุฉู ูˆูŽ ูŠูุฑู’ููŽุนู ู„ูŽู‡ู ุฃูŽู„ู’ูู ุฏูŽุฑูŽุฌูŽุฉู.

From Umm Salamah-ra having said, โ€˜Rasool-Allah-saww said: โ€˜The walking with the walking stich is from the humility, and it will be written for him, with every step, a thousand good deeds, and a thousand ranks Raised for himโ€™โ€™.[6]
